Jonae's Island Twist reviews
19What a lovely little family-owned gem tucked next to the River Congo Golf on 192! If you are looking authentic local fare, this is a must-stop for you! We had the curry chicken with tropical rice and plantains. Very reasonably priced. Oh, the strawberry lemonade is amazing, too.
Their Reggae Jerk Chicken has to be some of the best jerk chicken in the state. The whole meal with plantains and cabbage was absolutely delicious. I have already been back about 4 times in one week. If you want some out of this world finger licking good chicken you got to visit Jonae's Island Twist.
Everything was amazing. I came with my family to Florida we were looking for delicious food and definitely found it! The employees were all extremely nice and made us feel at home. The food was excellent but the service was above and beyond. I absolutely recommend this place. It's great.
Tried them on Uber Eats for the first time today for order delivery. The food was made fast and correct to order. I had the brown stew chicken with rice and Peas lunch portion, which also came with Sweet plantains. The rice and Peas were very tasty. I thought the chicken was pretty good. Portions were fair for the price and everything was hot and fresh. I'd order again, but would probably try a different entrée.
Walking in I was greeted, very friendly at 1st.
Limited options available at opening and a it’s hard to find someone to cater to you when asking a general question.
I’ve order the Oxtail, it wasn’t season know spice and the rice was ok.
Oxtail was very well cook that the meat easily falls off.
I’ve ate great JA food!
Very disappointing in the service. The items that we ordered, the restaurant was out of and they made substitutions without contacted consent. When we contacted the restaurant, they said they ran out of Oxtails and Rice and Peas so they gave us Goat and white rice. The customer service was very poor.
Maaaaannnnnnn! This place was on point in every aspect! The environment was nice and chill and the food was on point. You have to wait a bit for your food but its most definitely worth the wait. The food is so good they need a Jonae's Island Twist in every state!
First off, my apologies for no pictures. It was all gone so quickly!
We had 20 people staying in Kissimmee, and I pre-ordered Jerk Chicken, Curry Goat, and Ox-Tail for lunch today. Smartest thing I could have done! Everything came out delicious, and I introduced at least 10 people to wonderful Jamaican cuisine. Chicken was perfectly tender, and curry goat had excellent flavor. If we are back in town, will def return.
Thank you to the amazing staff for letting me share this experience with my in-laws…
First time ordering food from Jonae’s. The atmosphere was really nice. Everyone was very pleasant. Other than that I have say the food was not what I expected. I ordered an oxtail with rice and peas and brown stew chicken. The oxtail was bland and not made the way traditional oxtail is normally made. I never even got to try the brown stew chicken because I got jerk chicken instead. Which was okay, but was definitely not want I wanted.
The food here is amazing, but the service is PAINFULLY slow. Sat waiting for almost an hour for curry chicken, rice and peas, mac and cheese, cabbage, and a beef patty. All food that should've been prepared already! There were 2 people waiting when we arrived and they ordered online, but they were STILL waiting when we left.
When we come to the Orlando area, stopping here for great Jamaican food is a MUST! We can't wait until our next visit. The oxtail and Mac and cheese are slamming!
This was my first time ordering and I’m so glad I chose this place to have lunch. I ordered the Jerk Chicken with the rice and cabbage and OMG DELICIOUS. I also ordered the Chicken with Brown chicken stew absolutely delicious I love both both. The food was delicious, fresh and hot with so much flavor. Will be coming back soon. Oh I forgot to mention that I arrived before they open but the young lady was nice enough to let me in so that I could take my time viewing the menu. The customer service was awesome and very professional.
The food was good. As expected from a Jamaican resturant that it is not a typical sit down and eat atmospher.
Couldn't wait to come to Florida again to visit this Jamaican restaurant Once again they delivered. The stewed red snapper was the best that I've had in a long time. They are my favorite place to visit every year! Wish you guys were in NC.
This honestly was one of the worst places I've eaten at here in Kissimmee. I'm from down south Miami/fort lauderdale so I'm used to Jamaican food. If someone had blindfolded me and told I was eating Jamaican food I would have said they lied. The food was not good at all. It didn't even taste like it was made by island people. I eat better food back home. The atmosphere was nice and the restaurant was very well kept but the food was not good to me.
The food was bland and gravy was watery. I had the oxtail in which the lady literally sat in my face and counted the oxtail one by one as she put them in the styrofoam container. Then she had the nerve to ask if I wanted more gravy on the rice after she skimped my Lg oxtail plate. They give more rice and peas than anything. The mango lemonade was decent.
AMAZING food and quality service! Catering ia affordable, trust me there will be no left overs!
But like most island spots had bugs flying on me limited menu but what they did have was good
The food is delicious that's the only way i can describe it. The staff is very polite, if in florida and you want Jamaican food i personally recommend it, you will not regret it.
