A real disappointment for the price. My wife and I booked a weekend to celebrate our 40 th anniversary. Although we arrived early (around 1 pm), we were told that our room was not ready but housekeeping was notified and that it shouldn’t be to long. Sitting in the main lobby is cramped with everyone finding a corner to wait. I asked at 3: 30 if the room was ready, the front desk told me that it was ready an hour earlier but not one notified me of that. The TV service was not working and was told that the service provider was working on it. It took 24 hours for that service to come back up with no remedy except to watch netflix “ if you have an account”. The dinner at their finest restaurant was OK but did seem rushed a bit. The beach chairs and umbrellas were set up on top of each other but also sufficient but when we decided to check out the pool, we were told we could sit anywhere but in the front row of chairs because they are reserved. There was not assistance to find a place to sit even though there were many unused “ reserved” seats. There were no available non reserved seat so we left the pool never to return. When I went for breakfast, I was asked if my breakfast was included, I told her that I didn’t know. She then advised me that it wasn’t and that my continental breakfast which is included in most places was $25 or $35 if I wanted scrambled eggs. Crazy that at a room rate of over $500 a night, I didn’t qualify. Bottom line in my opinion is this facilities public spaces is way to small for the amount of people it tries to accommodate. Everything is exorbitantly expensive including a $5 bottle of water. A lot of smoke a mirrors without real top notch service. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway without feeling ripped off at every turn, I’m afraid this is not the place.

Location was awesome! Loved the beach. The hotel was nice. Stay in the Lanai rooms. That’s a newer part of the hotel. We stayed in the Tropical Island Towers rooms. Our room was just ok. I was expecting more for the money we paid. There’s also not many food options at the hotel past 8p. It would have been nice to have a little store or something open past 8. Ice cream or dessert place would have been nice! The bigger restaurants are open later but nothing for snacks or desserts or anything like that.

Overall everything about this hotel/resort is amazing. I travel pretty regularly and have stayed in my fair share of hotels and this one doesn’t disappoint. This trip was work and play, so I was very happy knowing my family had many activities to keep them busy while I was at the office. Food, drinks, beach, views, hotel team, and pool/beach team were all 5 star. We were really impressed with the beach and how well kept it was.

The only opportunity for improvement is the bar tenders at 10K Alley. We went to the arcade at least once a day during our stay (sometimes twice a day with my youngest) and finally after the third day or so we finally formed a little connection since we saw each other so much. However, as stated in previous posts, it certainly felt like they had no interest whatsoever in being there.

We will definitely be back!

Great hotel, but pretty expensive. The beach and pools are beautiful, the staff is helpful, and the rooms are clean.

Much Hotel for little pool, because in high season they get too crowded, I think they should have been more spacious, and not only the pools but the beach area for this hotel is very limited, on the other hand they charge the beach umbrella at 45 dollars per day for each room, also if you arrive a little late to the beach you will not find sunbeds, on the other hand they also charge parking per night separately, parking is also a little limited in high season. Also in 3 days with 2 nights that we spent They did not clean the room, to finish the minibar in the room did not cool and we received the room without a remote control for the television and we also had to ask for it.

I’ve been visiting this property for 10+ years and even before the refurbishment and change to JW. This property is unlike any other in Florida, and is similar to a Hawaiian style resort with multiple large towers, various pools and an expansive beach with a fire dancer at sunset This is an absolute must stay, however, I will say the expansiveness of the property severely deteriorates the JW brand of service that you might be familiar to.

Pro’s:
Great location
Beautiful beach and sunsets
Kane’s Tiki Bar - great cocktails/service/vibe
Pools & hot tubs
Breakfast at Maia’s served until 11: 30am
10K alley is a great addition to the resort and a great place to hangout during the rain or at night
Modern, clean, comfortable rooms. Lack of suites in tower buildings = lots of denied room upgrade requests.
~Almost~ every room is ocean view!

Con’s:
Quinn’s is under refurbishment until later this year, so limited menu and seating
Ants on chairs in pool areas
Lots of restaurant options, but ultimately better quality off property

Beautiful settings. The beach is amazing, very calm, wonderful swimming pools as well. The spa is great and there is a cold plunge too. 3 gyms in the facilities. Very limited food access at the end if you want to avoid fast food type. A supermarket corner inside will be nice. Very limited breakfast options and long line to access to it … just the constructive feedback is we are treated like in a huge supermarket, no one cares about you … lack of customers service and care, but the hotel is so huge that’s why I guess

For the $5k plus I spent for the stay over a weekend I shouldn’t have 1 thing negative to look back on let alone several. Really has taken a turn for the worst.

Personally I would not spend the money to stay here again BUT I get why people do it’s a really nice hotel with a lot of fun activities and a great location. What really made this a 5 star experience was the staff they were some of the nicest, most accommodating, patient and friendly service I’ve ever experienced. The beach yoga was a 10/10 experience too

Great place but staff: bar staff was rude, reception desk useless: had two reserved amounts on two cc‘s, told the reception, got reassured it would only be booked one in the end and guess what: double booking!

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and we were greatly disappointed. 2 adults and 2 middle school kids in one room with a king size bed and a pull out couch that was too small to accommodate both children. One of them had to sleep on the floor. We didn’t have any additional blankets or bed sheets to use on the pull out couch. The room in my opinion is very outdated, pull out couch had springs missing.
I had expected more considering its nightly rates. We won’t be returning there and we won’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

Hotel, pool and beach are amazing! The beach staff are great, room view was superb. The only two things that brought the rating down was valet and the bartenders at 10K Alley. We parked our car at the start of the week end and didn't call for it until we left. They returned it with a smashed windshield and never mentioned it until we pointed it out. The attitude was basically, "oh well". They would have been content for us to just drive away with it. At 10K Alley the bartenders couldn't have been any less in waiting on people. It really felt like they didn't want to be there.
Otherwise the hotel was great, food good.

This was my first time staying at the JW Marriott at Marco Island. I was there for a conference and was very amazed at the beauty of the hotel. The staff was very nice at all levels; the front desk, the bellmen, pool, beach, you name it! My room was amazing, lots of space, large bathroom, real nice shower, desk, and great balcony, with a nice view of the beach. The beach itself was very wide sandy beach and never felt crowded. Pool was big, with a great design, again never felt crowded. Very large fitness room. The conference provided food, which was varied and very good. I would go again to this Marriott in a heartbeat.

The down pillows are horrible couldn't sleep much. I also felt a matress coil in my ribs. Also the waiters at the restaurants had very little personality and took order and never came back i had to chase two of them down. The rest was awesome.

This resort is simply awesome.yes some things are a little bit costly but live a little and enjoy. The breakfast buffet at Maia was awesome, walk up drinks and frozen drinks head over to the Kane tiki bar. A tip.do not take home the large shampoo bottles from the room, they will charge you.cheers
