My daughter was manipulated into catching a plane to Boca Raton, Florida to this facility. She's been there about a month. We have been trying to call the facility and reach out to them to speak to her, but no one is allowing her to contact us back here in Texas. If they do not respond; we're going to have to reach out to the local authority's. Surprisingly, their administrative office has called in reference to a "bill" that my daughter told me a month ago should be covered by her insurance. I think this is a fraudulent facility. They are all about money. They do not care about the patients. I really hope these con-artist cause more harm than good

This place was wonderful! I have a dual diagnosis and had my substance abuse under control to a certain degree but still didn’t understand my mental health diagnosis. They welcomed me in and treated me with respect and understanding and most importantly compassion. I owe Beacon and Kandela a huge thank you for all they have done for me.

Went to get the help I needed and left a much happier person. I was able to talk to doctors therapist. Met other clients with very similar issues. It's hard at first but I learned so much. YOU HAVE TO PUT EFFORT IN TO GET THE EFFECT YOU NEED. The groups were amazing and eye opening. We also had a little fun on there. They kept things interesting for us clients.
Was actually sad to leave but was so ready to be back home and live the life I know I deserved and continue to work for.

They still a growing facility and are trying do best they can. If you need help ask. They will help you. When I went was fully staffed then another facility opened so they became short. My biggest complaint was how long it took to get meds. And some clients would act out and not much would be done. It was stressful at times but that's when u take accountability and do what YOU need to do and not worry about others so much that it affects you negatively

I admitted myself on August 28,2023, and left after four days. This wasn't going to be my first time in treatment, but in the past i have gone for eating disorders so I know more or less what to expect. I originally reached out to Kandela seeking help in regards to mental health (depression and anxiety). I don't get into trouble, smoke, drink, use drugs, etc. The admissions reassured my father and I that this was strictly a mental health facility multiple times. We decide to proceed and I was admitted on a Monday. When you get there you first go to the intake office to your right. Off the bat I got bad vibes, it was extremely chaotic, everyone was everywhere, the first nurse (she was an older woman and had an accent) was really rude and made extremely inappropriate comments when doing my intake. They make u wear a monitor not to track you, but to remind staff to check up on you (is what they said.) My intake was almost done when they told me to go to the bathroom to strip and cough. I immediately started to have a panic attack and was refusing to do it. With my history of ed I am extremely insecure I wont wear bathing suits, wear hoodies all year round, the list goes on. Now here I am being asked to strip in front of two strangers? Yeah no. Thankfully the tech was willing to work with me as she saw how panicked I was, while the rude nurse just told me to "shut up and get it over with. " Fast forward intake is over! As I enter the center I get slapped in the face with the smell of cigarettes. EW. It reeked everywhere! Clients were also allowed to vape (not inside) but did anyways! Even had a tech basically vaping in my face later on when I was packing to go home. My entire time there was basically spent in my room. They didn't really push you to go to groups, to eat, nothing rlly. In the mornings they would wake us up by knocking on the door, saying "breakfast is ready. " I understand we are adults, but i need at least 20 alarms before i even consider waking up. They don't hold you accountable is basically what I am saying. I probably ate a total of 3 times in my four day stay because of how scared I would to be out of my room. Most clients are baker-acted from what I quickly learned, but I went there voluntarily. I only stayed as long as I did because they wouldn't let me call anyone. Finally day 3 around 5pm I call my sister and tell her everything that had been going on in Portuguese so they didn't know what i was saying because calls are! MONITORED! (bless up for knowing a 2nd language.) I was told the next morning the clinal director would get in contact with my sister to figure out the best solution. My family later informed me they started calling around 9am, and no one would answer until around 1pm my sister gets a call back. The clinical director calls me to her office where she tries to convince me to stay for at least a week, but I wasn't going to budge. I knew if i stayed there any longer I would come out crazier lol. I get her to let me call my sister back with me there, and my sister tells me that she arranged me a flight back home for 5pm. IT TOOK THEM 2 HOURS TO GET MY LUGAGE. They make you pack up in the front hall by the intake office. (every time i have gone to a program they always unpack your stuff with you present here they did not) as i am packing up i notice my beats were missing and I also had a perfume from PRADA that they broke. I told the lady who was vaping in my face and she said how the airline must've broke my perfume which I know wasn't the case because 1.none of my clothes smelled or luggage 2. Another employee had told me it broke on their watch and would be replaced. At this point I was over it I just wanted to go home so I signed all the stupid things, called an Uber and left. When I called later on they said it was out of their control because I had signed off on all my stuff. I have called a more few times and no one ever gets back to me. So much time was wasted here with the flights, things they broke and PROBABLY STOLE.oh and the trauma was fun too! 10/10 don't recommend

Worst experience ever! DO NOT go here! Youre better off going too a state run facility! When you go through a struggling time in your life and you need help stay faaar away from these people. I checked myself in too get help. They say they cant hold you against your will but they do! I made the mistake of trusting flyland when i needed help and they took advantage of me financially! I was told my insurance would cover cost and all i had to do was pay my deductible. I paid my deductible and still got a bill for 6k? They take most people from out of state and take their drivers lisence so you cant leave. Unacceptable. Im not the only one that i was lied too. 3 other people i still talk too had the same experience and were lied too and got a big bill aswell. I left more screwed up then i did before i got there! Thank god i went too a great aftercare program or i would probably be dead. Really? 6k? After insurance? This wasnt my first treatment facility! Ive been too better state run facilities! Thank god i got into a good aftercare program because this place is absolutely horrible! If your thinking of even considering this place please feel free too message me!

When I arrived at Kandela Recovery Center I thought that I was only there for my recovery. As I sat in the groups each day I was amazed how much I didn’t know about myself until I opened up and shared my story with the group. I came to realize that I was my problem. I had a lot of anger, guilt, ego, self centered, and I learned why my youngest daughter would shut down on me. Not just because I was using drugs. But the way I used to treat her with the shouting and yelling that caused her trauma. She wasn’t being heard, so she was scared to open up when she had a problem. I can on and on, but I want you guys to know that Kandela is a great place to start your recovery. The staff is great including medical, case management, therapist, the tecs, and the group meetings is I learned that I was programmed through my addiction to self destruct. Oh the food was wow! Great every meal three times a day seven days a week. So if you’re looking for somewhere to get help with your or someone you know recovery. Kandela is the place. Thanks Kandela team.

I had an amazing experience at Kandela. I was treated with such respect. The techs were wonderful, especially Javier and Pedro who gave me words of wisdom. Robin is also a great leader. Would definitely recommend Kandela to anyone who needs help.

I admitted myself to Kandela, ran by Flyland Recovery Network, on March 17th, 2023. My experience at Kandela was nothing short of amazing! From the moment I got off the plane in Miami, I was welcomed and treated with care. This was my first time in treatment, but I knew I was at the right place. Many other clients who had been to multiple treatment centers in the past said that this is by far the best one that they have gone to. There was a comfort in that. I never felt out of place; everything was laid out in front of me and structured very well.
Staff memebers were absolutely amazing. I'd like to give specific shout outs to staffing that went above and beyond to guide me in the beginning of my recovery journy. My therapist, Olivia, was absolutely amazing. She didn't treat me like a general client. She adjusted her therapy practice to fit my needs. My family back home was very impressed with her as well; she stayed in contact with them the entire time and answered any questions they had. Group facilitator Robin changed my life. She ran groups that were very easy to follow. Never a dull moment! She even took the time to work with me one on one when I was going through rough times. She is a caring person, but doesn't sugar coat the truth that you need to hear. Her passion to guide those on the road to recovery is obvious. She is an absolute angel. I could go on and on about how great she is! Anyone would be lucky to have her be a part of their recovery story. Staff member Angel is another person who went above and beyond. Seeing her is like instantly receiving a hug. When she was in the kitchen cooking, we all knew the food was going to be extra tasty. Not only did she cook for us, but she is also a tech who cares about every single client she comes across. That beautiful woman can do it all! EVERY nurse on staff was absolutely amazing. I can't thank them enough for what they did for me. All of the techs were absolutely amazing. I don't have a single complaint. They were always going above and beyond to make sure things were running smoothly. Allegra was always running around making sure every need of the clients was being met. She seemed to have the ability to be in multiple places at once. The housekeeping staff was also knocking it out of the park on the DAILY! Alumni coordinator Brooke also deserves a shout out. She has been staying in contact with me ever since I left to make sure that my transition back to "real life" is going smoothly. She geniunely cares about keeping us on the path of recovery by giving suggestions as to what we need to be doing when we get back home.
If you or a loved one needs help with substance abuse, Kandela is the way to go as it is ran in a professional, safe, and clean manner. I will forever remember my stay at Kandela because they saved my life. I cannot thank them enough.

Flyland recovery saved my life. They took care of me 24/7 and I'm truly thankful for the entire staff especially my recovery coach Robin. She inspired me in so many ways. Learned a lot about my disease of alcoholism and gave me tools to keep me strong and sober. Huge shout out to Brook the alumni director. She genuinely cares for each resident and will be there for you during your stay and when you discharge to when you go home. She follows up with me to make sure I'm staying on the right track. I can reach out to her on my good and bad days. We need more people in this world like Brook. She is the best. She cares about our sobriety and wants us to succeed. Thank you Brook for all your support.

My experience was totally amazing from the start. I was welcomed and showed love and helped out to have a wonderful stay. Groups were super insightful and provided me with knowledge that would help me out and has been motivating me towards success. Robin was absolutely terrific she got to know each of us and was a great team member she gave everyone hope and related to our struggles and shared positivity. Brooke was especially great as the Alumni director she took the time to lead us through fun groups and gave a creative aspect towards recovery. She also would run meetings through zoom that helped us connect to oth individuals getting sober and got to hear from them.

I had an overall positive experience. I was clear about my needs upfront and Kandela delivered. I'm grateful for Miss V's compassion, and Robin's kind-hearted straightforwardness. Brooke also does phenomenal job with alumni follow-up. They all have their heart in the game. The only negative thing I will say is there is zero enforcement of their policy on indoor vaping.

If I could give this place negative stars…. I would. It’s a scam for insurance or private pay. Go to something free

Kandela was the greatest decision I have ever made in my life. I found myself at a crossroad where I had lost my direction. I could not stop my addition and was powerless to it. I had put together some time of being dry, but I couldn't not quit or was just simply lacking the self will to successfuly quit. I'm truly greatful that out of all the recovery centers across the country that the higher power placed me at kandela. The staff was amazing! Mrs. Robin and Mrs. V have a special power where they will connect with everyone and get you to open up and relieve the stress and negative buiilt up that an individual may have surpressed for any amount of time. Kandela was the one piece I had been missing from my life. I learned the tools that Ineeded to begin my journey to serenity and the groups were packed with knowledge. The staff was the best, CJ, Greg, Mrs Allegra, Darren (watch him he might cheat at cards just kidding), Mr. Gil, Jamie, Adam, Mrs. Georgia, Mrs. Cynthia, Mrs. Maria. K, the cleaning staff was always ensuring our environment was tidy. Jazz, Mrs. BrookJavier, all the HNI'S- Jerry, again all Mr.gil's speakers will leave you in awe. I literally cannot say one bad thing about the staff and oh yea Mrs.angles, along with Will the chef. I could literally name the entire staff, they made me feel like I was part of their family. They listened to me, they took time to share stories, and relate to not just me but the majority of individuals who where actually looking for help. I truly apologize if I missed anyone, As you were all instrumental in this first step. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking to start there journey to recovery, you will be in the best hands in the business. I would just like to say what a privilege it was to meet and share the first steps of my recovery whit the complete staff at Kandela. Thank you all for providing me with the tools and knowledge I was lacking, for showing me it's not just me suffering and that there are many people who relate to all of our stories. Forever greatful.
