Kapow Noodle Bar, Boca Raton FL

Service was disappointing. We went for a late weekday dinner as our daughter was visiting from Alaska (she wanted to eat later). Kapow is open late for food during the week. We have eaten multiple times at this restaurant at both the old and new locations in Mizner park.

We never received our non-alcoholic drinks nor a second appetizer ordered. We mentioned this to the food server when the main courses arrived but by the time the wait server came back to check in with us we were finished with our meals, so we canceled the drinks and second appetizer. Manager stopped by and we shared what happened.

I would recommend going late for drinks but not food based on the difference in service we experienced later in the evening compared to typical weekday dining times.

We decided to rent the karaoke room for our family, who are very passionate about singing and karaoke. We were there at 5: 31 and our room start time was at 5: 30.10 minutes later they got us into the room at 5: 4-ish. We didn’t have a waiter for a while, no music no cocktails, so finally, we had to ask someone in the restaurant if we could get service. Finally we were given instructions and got to start singing About four songs into it. They had to shut down and reboot the system, which took about 25 minutes. Finally, they got it up and working again and then towards the end of our session the tv was buffering and they did not charge the iPad, and was down to only 7%.

They charged a premium per hour and I feel it was not just to be charged what we were for it really only working for about one hour. They took off a couple drinks, which certainly does not equal to one hours worth in the karaoke room. They also made it about 65° in the room so half the crowd sat outside just to get warm. I would say it could be really great if they could get better service in there, and be fair as to if their machines don’t work then don’t charge the customer full.

The only reason I am giving a star is because our waitress was very attentive and friendly. I submitted an inquiry to the Kapow website a few days later (as their phone goes to a recorded message) explaining I got food poisoning after dining here two weeks ago and no response from management even to this day. Its important to take these situations seriously when owning or operating a restaurant but clearly they do not. The health department should look into this as I was not the only one from our group of 6 that got sick. I wont be back again. Food is sub par.

Omg! This is probably one of my favorite restaurants! The food was absolutely delicious! Hunter my waiter was so kind and helped me with deciding what food options were the best.

Really cool place. Beautiful design and great food. The dishes are small. But bery good. Unfortunately, they have a limited kitchen after 10 pm. So many dishes were not available to order. No sushi. No miso soup, and no ginger salad. The edamame is a nice size dish and very tasty (spicy). The fried rice is amazing. Will go back to try the sushi.

We had a great experience at Kapow! We had no idea what to expect but our server Wyatt helped us out. The General’s cauliflower was so dang good. The skirt steak lo mein was delicious. The lobster ragoons also hit the spot. The fried veggie rice was good, but needed some more spice in my opinion. Didn’t care for the highball drinks, so I’d pass on that if I went again. A little pricy for what you get, but we still left very happy!

Hip, crazy and upscale all in one package! This is the perfect date night place where the service is spot on and the food and the drinks are as whimsical as can be! Basic dim sum, noodle dishes mixed with soft Bao buns and Kobe beef burgers. Inside and outside seating in the heart of Mizner. Tables for two and big seating for a large group. Love this place!

This place never disappoints food is always on par service is always top-notch. They sit us down very quickly and grab them in time just for a happy hour. Happy hour is from 4 PM to 7 PM.

I tried the shushito peppers, KFC chicken, wagyu gyoza, salmon roll, and everything super delicious.

The place moved locations across the streets in
Mizner Park and got bigger, better vibe, more staff and full of life.

I'll always come here again and recommend to friends. Spencer was a great waitress!

The atmosphere and great food makes this a perfect place to bring visitors from out-of-town to showcase the best of Boca. Excellent service, food, and drinks, what more can you need.

Food is good but restaurant is EXTREMELY loud so plan to just stare at your guests for the duration of the dinner if you sit inside or scream at them the entire meal. Outside tables could use a bit more ambiance than the blue awning. The hostess Mia was quite rude to us and unhelpful when I brought my 95 yr old grandmother out to dinner with us. Mia made us feel very unwelcome there and like a bother when we are paying customers and practically ordered the entire menu. Waiters are gems and I thank them for making it an otherwise, good experience for us.

This is a must try here in Boca. One of my favorite restaurants. The service is exceptionally quick and the staff is super friendly. The waiters explain the menu to you and always give great recommendations. I always opt for the steak tartare over crispy rice which is absolutely delicious. I also ordered the sticky buns pork and the KFC chicken which are awesome. The fried rice is always a great choice and their wagyu burger is off the charts. The ambiance here is also great.

I heard so much about KAPOW prior to visiting. The restaurant had write ups and a lot of press. South Florida is so starved for good affordable Asian cuisine that I couldn’t wait to drive up from Fort Lauderdale to check out the Boca location.

Regarding the FOOD, I had Cucumber Salad, a Pork belly bun, Chicken Wings, and Shrimp Pad Thai. The only stand out dish was the Pork belly bun. It was really very good. I wish I had stopped with a Sapporo beer and a Pork Belly bun though. How is it even possible to mess up a Cucumber Salad and Chicken Wings? ! I think the sesame oil they used was rancid because both the cucumber salad and the chicken wings had a bad after taste. There also was an imbalance to the sauce in the cucumber salad. There were a lot of shrimp in Shrimp Pad Thai to be sure. But, they tasted bad and were not fresh at all. Two fresh limes, doesn’t make up for serving bad shrimp! My friends both had the Chow Fun which I personally thought tasted much better but we all agreed we would never come back.

Regarding the PRICE, I split the bill 50/50 with one other friend and it came to $80.33. This figure is written in such a way on the bill to confuse the customer which is really BAD MOJO! I added a 20% tip so I am literally NOT EVEN CERTAIN HOW MUCH I PAID! I feel I was deliberately mislead when it was time for payment. The electronic system had choices of 25%, 20% and something else BUT THE TIP WAS ALREADY ADDED. This is completely unacceptable to mislead customers in this manner. The waitress did not earn a 20% tip much less more. Suggesting an additional tip with such a bad experience is utterly hogwash.

Regarding the SERVICE, to better capture the actual experience, I suggest the owner change the name to “Kapluey! ” The waitress was impatient so she starts with, “NO, we don’t have Mai Tai’s here! ” They have a full bar! BUT you are so busy and inappropriately staffed for a busy Sunday she can’t be bothered to go ask or have the bartender fake me a Mai Tai, instead suggesting I have something off their special cocktail menu. Are you drinking it or am I? For the record, the bartender at Strike 10, the bowling alley across the park, can make a Mai Tai! The waitress is either blithely unaware of what a Mai Tai is and therefore badly trained or she just doesn’t care. If I had to guess, the fake smile is the tell.

This restaurant was the equivalent of getting your Schmeckel caught in a zipper. It starts out bad, is a painful experience during, and you know right from the start it isn’t going to end well. Had the the food not been so remarkably Extra Mediocre, which is a compliment to it, I would have corrected the poor service when a manager came to ask how everything was! But at that point, you no longer deserved the opportunity to correct it. You created the problem in the first place and I paid for it. What a waste of time and money!

If this is the best Mizner Park can do, you might as well stay home and cook.

We go to Kapow almost every week and the food, service, environment, etc is fantastic. Cornelio the manager is a great guy and takes excellent care of all of us. We bring high profile clients, friends, and dates there and it's exceptional every time!

Food:
The duck was good! The skin was perfectly cooked and the star of the show. The meat was tender and not dry. For the price the duck was great. Not the mind blowing best I’ve ever had but also not $250 ;)
