Dr. Shimp has been my gynecologic for 14 years now and I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of gynecologic or obstetrician needs. Dr. Shimp's bedside manner is top notch and she is engaging, kind, caring and knowledgeable. There are times that I unable to see Dr. Shimp due to scheduling conflicts but when I do have her for my visits as if no time at all has passed.
I wanted to take the time to write this review to share my brief experience with Dr. Kathleen Shimp, from Premier Woman’s Care, in hopes that no one will go through what I experienced. The practice is very large with several offices in the area. With that being said, attention to detail is lacking, one particular doctor lacked patience and empathy with poor bedside manner. I had a total of 5 scheduled visits where my appointment was scheduled incorrectly, it took more than one appointment to get my blood drawn, and when I finally got my blood drawn, IT WAS LOST. I had three doctor’s visits out of the five and the last visit with my provider, Dr. Shimp was frightful. I left confused, scared, and afraid to leave this person in my care. Due to the lack of communication within the practice, Dr. Shimp appeared overwhelmed, flustered, and unprofessional. She showed a level of low empathy and lacked compassion which is due to burnout over the years in her profession. As a person who works in the medical field, I would advise that you seek treatment elsewhere if you want empathy, compassion, professionalism, and appropriate bedside manner. If any healthcare professional is missing just one of these qualities, it could affect the health care that you receive. After reading the reviews, I wished I would have done more research. I hope this review was helpful to anyone seeking the appropriate level of care, which everyone deserves.
