Kelly Park reviews
13Water is crystal clear! Bring your swimsuit and a lunch! Even better to bring an inner tube and down the current at the starting rock point. Good paths to hike and see nature.
The beach, springs and lazy river were absolutely wonderful! I'd love to stay here camping but sadly they do not allow pets in the campground area, this is the only reason for the 4 out of 5 stars.
Beautiful time on the lazy River. I was worried I would not get in, but the man who rents tubes told me it is only very crowded in the summer. I arrived at 9: 15 and practically had the place to myself for at least an hour. Enjoyed it more than the beach!
Alway our favorite place to go for BBQ. Very nice park and less crowded compare to other state parks. And I love the spring, beautiful view. You can rent or bring a tube for tubing down the spring.
Don't waste your time unless your willing and able to be there in line at 4: 30 -5 am. They restrict the entrance to such a limited number that unless your there that early all you will see is a sheriff deputy idling his cruiser at the entrance telling you to leave, your not welcome here. Maybe they need to take reservations or limit how often per year each citizen is allowed to enter so that not only locals able to be waiting in line at 4 am can see the spring? Just a waste of gas and time from my experience.
Beautiful park for swimming, tubing, hiking and picnicking. Cost is only $3 for car with 4 people. It has a concession stand (But not sure if always open). Lots of fun for everyone.
Beutiful place to come and relax in nature, natural springs and floating down the stream, stopping and checking out the individual springs. Camping facilities are very good, very kid frendly.
Go go go go go go go go go. Wild life is so cute and we met a friendly turtle! The water is gorgeous and you can get tubes for 7$ and float down the spring for about an hour and repeat check the pics.
Nice lazy river. Come on the weekdays if you can because it's very busy here. Be prepared to pay to enter the park. Bring your own tube because they do not rent them here. Water is only waist-deep so it's good for the whole family. Bring beach chairs to lounge around when you're not going down the river.
It was so nice with the kids. Great spot but usually quite busy. I would recommend not even trying on the hot weather weekends. But it's such a nice park. Picnic benches and grills are posted around the park and there's a nice playground for the kids too.
It's a heaven for those who loves cold crystal clear springs. If you like being active while in the water leave everything in the car, put on water shoes, snorkel gear and start at the very beginning of the river. It is not that lazy at first, because the current might be strong and you need to watch for underwater rocks if you're not in a tube, but then the flow smooths out and the river becomes really lazy:)
It was fantastic. You have to get there early but just a great and fun park for swimming tubing or kayaking. $5 a carload. Huge picnic area and a concession stand.
We stayed at Mount Dora (highly recommend) for the weekend and visited Kelly Park on Sunday. We got in line around 7: 30AM and waited until 8 for the gates to open. While your waiting in line you can rent your tubes and walk across the street to the gas station. Kelly park is beautiful. They do a great job keeping it clean. You’ll find the main areas fill up quick such as camp sites right by the water and the volleyball courts. So get there really early if you want a good spot. The ride down is really only about 20-30 min. It is not a huge spring. But the walk back up is beautiful and shaded the whole way. The concession stand that is at the park serves great food at a great price! I was really surprised! Overall it was one of the prettiest springs we have ever been too and one of the nicest state parks! I will definitely visit again!
