Ken's Bar-B-Que, Lake City FL

For me this is where it all started. I’m from Lake City, and Ken’s was and is the gold standard for BBQ in the area. The ribs and pulled pork are excellent, particularly a pulled pork sandwich with toasted garlic bread…mmm…but the sides are good too. They aren’t the best baked beans I’ve ever had, but they are damn close. I like the bigger chunks of pork in it. Def more like pork and beans than just baked beans. If you order a large sweet tea, it will be so enormous you can bathe in it. And free refills. Wear loose pants.

One of the mainstays in Lake City. We used to eat here weekly. Prices are higher, 2 locations are closed. Not what it once was but it's still good eating.

I love Kens food. My pork sandwich on garlic bread was delicious and the waitress was friendly and kept the drinks full.

KEN'S BBQ:
I have eaten a lot of bar-b-que over the years and I guess I'm lucky because I don't think I've ever had any "bad" bar-b-que! But Ken's is #1 on my list. There are things that make certain BBQ restaurants stand out for me, for instance: Restaurants that have personable and efficient staff; Employees that actually remember you and bother to know your name; Recipes that make for that consistent taste and flavor that keep you coming back for more. But most of all, I love that you see the owner and their family on the floor, with rolled up sleeves serving, busing tables, cashiering and working along side their employees to accomplish the job at hand. It speaks volumes about the values and commitment of the owners. Also, ALL THE FOOD IS ALWAYS DELICIOUS! Dine in or take out!
Maybe I'm biased because I have lived in Lake City my whole life and I can't even remember Lake City without Ken's BBQ. In fact, I don't want a Lake City without Ken's BBQ!

It has been a long time since I have stopped but was pleased that both the quality and quantity of food remains the same. Ms Katie is still there and she's amazing!

Comfort food for 40+ years. I still enjoy the familiar sights and intoxicating smells that I remember as a teenager many years ago. Most of their various locations are now gone but this location continues to serve the same great BBQ that Ken's has always been known for.

Food was tasty but could have come a bit warmer. Room temperature is not the best. However, the waitress was awesome She gets 5 stars for sure!

Great food and love the staff. Wish we didn't have to drive all the way across town but well worth the drive across town.

There Campfire meal, fish sandwich with fries or onions rings is awesome. The people are really nice. Can call pick up orders in a head of time. Really clean please.

Good BBQ and BBQ Salad been eating there over 37 year's However This was my Last Visit to Ken's. My wife ordered a Small Cheese Burger and was up charged 60 cents for One price of Lettuce one slice of onion and a pickle chip. And I got my Normal BBQ Salad and was up charged 60 cents for Salad dressing. When We got the Check We asked the waitress and she said everything comes plain. 26.00 for a Very small Burger and a BBQ Salad No Drinks. The Menu Should be Honest and Not a Surprise When you get Your Check. I have Never Been Up Charged for this Meal even though The Price was Raised several times through the Years. But I Expected to pay whatever the Menu is Priced. Not More Period. I will Spend my money somewhere they don't dime me to Death. I felt Ripped off and will Never walk in this place Again.

If I could rate a zero I would. They over charged me for a meal I didn’t order, gave me cold food and when I went up to the restaurant for my refund they agreed to give me they still short me 20$!

Went to Ken's on Valentine's day. Ribs were awesome! Fries, cold slaw & garlic toast, very tasty. Baked beans were only fair, seemed over cooked. Sweet tea was a nice brew. Ribs were so big & meaty that I only was able to eat 2 of the 6. Had the rest for dinner the next day.

Had lunch today snd the fiod was really great along with the best server around. It is denefinately a 5 star. Note: they do not give military discount, even on Vets Day tomorrow.

If you love bbq like i do, go enjoy yourself. Service is fantastic and plenty of parking. Place is clean as a whistle too. Go eat and have fun.

Awesome, waitress brought our food a lot quicker than I was expecting, and it was exactly as I had asked for, great food, great service.

A little more expensive than I remember but the pulled pork on garlic bread was delicious, the portion was great, fries crispy and hot. (Sandwich on garlic bread > bun) Great food all around.

Great food. Good atmosphere. Loved our waitress. Wasn't too packed because we went in around 4pm. I got ribs and sliced pork with fries and green beans. It all tasted amazing. Good size portions and had some left over to take home. Would recommend to anyone who loves BBQ.
