Kimpton EPIC Hotel, Miami FL

I was quite annoyed with how they their staff kept wanting to check and see if we were leaving waaay before checkout time. I was literally still packing and they kept knocking on my door asking me if I was checking out today and each time I told them "yes, I'm still packing "
The second time they just barged in. Bring your own bottles of water because they charge $10 for 1.

The suite had a beatiful view and massive balcony layout. Food was delicious. Will stay again.

I stayed there for 1 night and it was way below expectations.

We stayed in hotel room 2903 which is supposed to have sea view. This room is facing another building so if you care to pay for a nice view I highly recommend to look for another hotel nearby or room. The river is nice though.

For this standard of hotel I noticed a few issues that should not even be seen.

Firstly there was a lot of dust. Cleaners just cleaned the top of the desks but all the dirt came out from the bottom of the desk and bed when we turned on aircon.

Talking about aircon it was running extremely cold air when turned off. We managed to sort it out as we set it for 26 celcius degrees and opened balcony so it felt better.

The fridge doors were broken and it was difficult to use it.

Service at the reception was good apart from one guy who received my complains about the things I mentioned above. He clearly showed me that he doesn't care.

Apart from that the swimming pools were ok, nothing spectacular. The view was nice.

We got a free champagne at the entrance which was cool and the guy who took our luggage was friendly and kind.

There is no many good things to mention considering that we paid more than 300 USD for one night. For this price I normally expect at least standard things and seeing dirty room is just ridiculous.

10 dollars for water in the room is a rip off. I was told that it is normal, however 3 star hotel at Miami beach was providing us with free coffee and water so I take it as lie as it was told by the guy with "I don't care" attitude.

As for me I do not recommend staying in this hotel and would suggest to look for something else nearby.

I recommend this hotel, it is very clean with a good view, come enjoy your family vacation here, very good attention from all the staff.

Upon arrival we were greeted with valet and check in was fairly quick. The room was clean and we had an amazing view from the 26th floor and the food from their restaurant “area 31” was amazingg! Will definitely be returning soon!

Stayed here for Ultra and it's the perfect spot, close enough to walk there. Atmosphere is great, the pool had a great DJ playing and drinks/service was good too. Rooms are pretty spacious and the view is nice from the balcony. Front desk is very welcoming and attentive to your needs.

Hotel is very nice trendy what you would expect for Miami. It’s clean spacious rooms comfy beds. My negative experience was the staff in the restaurants and the pool area were not good and most were unfriendly. No room on a Saturday for guests to sit by pool. Hopefully that was due to max capacity and not the sale of day passes. Overall would stay again.

I booked this hotel on price line as an all inclusive or I thought when we arrive we find out nothing is included let alone the fridge in my room was broken and when we asked them to replace or fix it they said they would send someone that never arrived, but bottled water is $10 and 2cans of soda was $10 and there were a few hidden charges that weren’t listed on website like the 50$ a day they charging u for parking we arrived on Wednesday and leave on Friday the first impression was bad the man proceeded to rush me out like I wasn’t a guest at the hotel then on Thursday they shut down my app to pick up the car for none payments how if I’m not leaving till Friday at 12 smh I’m not sure if the workers are not used to people who looking like me staying here but it was uncomfortable at the lest. Some people were nice some where so so.

Absolutely amazing time staying here. The room was clean when I arrived with beautiful views. Check in was a breeze. The daily housekeeping/cleaning crew did an outstanding job, going above and beyond and made my stay.

Checkin process is teeth pulling long, about 10+min per guest. Staff giving arrogant lipservice and make you wait in line for another 20 minutes after deactivating the room key for a second time during a single stay. "We make the rules here and you don't, you have to stand in line again (for 20+ minutes). ". After you finally get annoyed you get "I am sorry YOU see it this way. " Turning things around, in short an appalling service level that requires intervention, shameful employee behaviour. For now, take your money elsewhere!

Beautiful views! Unique pool, nice restaurants and good food. Friendly people and a great location.

I stayed at the Epic hotel 2 weeks ago and the experience was not the best.
First, the room was not the cleanest. They had hair on the bathroom counter and in the bed. The floor wasn’t the cleanest either. However, I didn’t want to be a complainer so brushed it off.

The icing on cake is when my friends and I reserved a cabana to spend sometime at the pool and my AirPod pro came up missing. I sat it on the table and forgot to retrieve it on my way back to the room. Once I realized I forgot it, I quickly went back down and the waiter from AREA 31 restaurant told me he didn’t find anything. The red flag was that I never told him I lost anything (so how did he know to say that?). I went to scan the area and it was gone. Security came down to take a report and conveyed to me that they will reach out within 5 days.

Not to mention they never gave my friend his credit card back once he closed out the tab. Once he realized he left it and went back they claimed they couldn’t find it.
Fast forward, I reached out to follow up after waiting 2 weeks to find out what was going on with the investigation. Richard the head security was a total douche bag by the way. He was combative, he had no empathy, and seemed unbothered about the whole ordeal.
His attitude sent me over the edge which lead me to share my experienced. After, I did some research I ran across other guests who similar experiences.
Your biggest asset is your human resources, so making sure the front desk, waiters, housekeepers, housemen, and security is trustworthy and trained on what is proper service for your hotel and that they are able to deal with any kind of complaint or problem is key. The fact that I’m dealing with people who are unprofessional is unfortunate.
So, the next time you stay at this hotel which has a beautiful view by the way please clutch your pearls and pocketbooks, I would hate for this to happen to someone else.

My wife and I were recently in Miami and stayed at The Kimpton EPIC Hotel downtown. Everything about this place is 5-star! The rooms were very modern, and the bathroom was luxurious. We also had beautiful water views of the Miami River, Biscayne Bay, and Brickell Key. You can see the river from the main entrance of the hotel, and since the hotel is on the river, there's also a yacht charter service. As for the restaurants, there are 2 amazing places to choose from, Zuma (Japanese cuisine) on the first floor and Area 31 upstairs by the rooftop pool. Everything about this place is spectacular. You're within walking distance of Bayside, Brickell City Centre shopping mall, and many fabulous restaurants. If you plan on visiting South Beach, it's just a short Uber ride there, as it's only about 3 miles. Just a quick note for those on their first trip to Miami, the restaurants add a service charge to your check, typically 20%, that doesn't include a tip.

I would rated this hotel a 5 star, if they had more restaurants, some spa, more pool area and better trained staff. I stayed at this hotel for about a week (Tuesday- Sunday) and thought I was having a pleasant experience until Friday they called me and told me I’m supposed to check out. Apparently the new guy, Angel made a mistake with our reservation and did not inform us that there was already someone else who booked our room for the weekend. I was informed about this by Isiah (who was helpful explaining the situation to me personally, and did his best to help us out, thank you Isiah) however that was not fair because I had to come out of the pool to go pack my stuff from the room, to move into another room. Initially I paid extra to get the water view, highest floor room. However when they moved me for those two nights I couldn’t get the water view.
Other than that, it’s a nice place to visit for a few days but not too long. Because there isn’t too many restaurants nor much to do. Also the payment and how they charge you can get confusing. This is supposed to be one of the most luxury hotels but with such mistakes and inconveniences you at times can regret it. I understand mistakes happen, but at the rate you’re paying it should be better. However, overall stay was alright, my favorite part was being able to text the staff with anything you need, without having to call. But there is a lot of construction around the area. Personally I liked the valet staff. There can be a wait to get your car, but the manager (idk his name) but he is usually in red shirt, was very helpful
