Cafe King State reviews
15My favorite coffee shop/restaurant/bar in the Tampa Bay Area. Everything is incredible, vibes are immaculate
Really cool atmosphere here - so worth coming to check it out! Great spot to gather with friends or by yourself. They did such a great job with such a unique space. The coffee is very good as well as the food.
Important to note that there is no WiFi but it is a good spot to sit down and get some work done offline.
This business is struggling currently due to the road closures and delays by the city of Tampa so please now is the time to come support them!
Saw this business on the news and heard they were struggling so wanted to check it out and support. Staff was unwelcoming & coffee was nothing i would come back for.
Wonderful local spot! Great vibe and friendly staff. Great local craft beer selection, along with a solid food menu. Breakfast served all day! My BLT with a fried egg was delicious! Easy to get to with parking, even with the road construction as of 1/24, easy access! Nice patio, along with great indoor space and bar.
Open air cafe boasting great neighborhood vibes and tasty food. We enjoyed two breakfast sammies (B. E. L. T.was our favorite), the vegan bowl (eggs were exceptional while potatoes were extremely charred) and a delectable, gooey cinnamon roll. Loved the atmosphere! Bring a sweater or jacket on chilly days since the windows are open garage style. Looking forward to returning or checking out the St. Pete location.
Still open and accessible from east floribraska and 275. Outstanding food and quiet atmosphere. Great place to go to catch up on emails, a good book or fill your belly.
The team here is always quick, friendly & accommodating & the coffee is fantastic.
Breakfast sandwich served with some of the best grits I've had in a long time. Paired with a Green Dart, cant beat it.
Terrible place. Overrated. I ordered the Bowl. I asked instead of Cotija cheese if they could do shredded cheddar or mozzarella or something. They said they can’t make substitutes.
Absolutely mind blown they are willing to not sell a $14 Bowl bc they don’t want to sprinkle a different type of cheese on there. The front lady was nice and even asked the kitchen and they were they owns that said no. I can’t believe there are still places in 2023 that can’t make simple substitutions. Would not recommended and will not be returning.
One of my favorite breakfast spots. Great atmosphere and the food. Oh Lord the food. Love it.
This is the hipster coffee shop you’ve been looking for in Tampa. Better coffee and vibez than Blind Tiger with great food. Wine and beer offerings mean it’s open late. Put on your coolest fit and check it out
“If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”. Everything that was good on the menu keeps getting removed. I know they’re rebranding but dang pick a menu. The last thing that I had that was good was the crab sandwich and every since that was removed, haven’t really had a good food from there.
Hopefully they can get a consistent. Service and coffee shop vibe is good.
Delicious coffee. Great beer. Fun atmosphere. Kind service. One of the best places to hold a coffee or lunch meeting in Tampa.
Downgrading my original review since the “renovation” - which seems more like a change in ownership with a complete staff turnover and not so much renovation.
We used to go here at least once or twice a week. One of our go-to Most Favored spots. Now we almost never go. Removed our favorite menu items, and we miss the staff we’d grown used to (not that the new staff isn’t really nice, they seem to be, but an abrupt turnover like that is jarring).
The biggest problem I have though is the prices - it’s just too expensive for what you get. And the no internet thing is frankly just stupid (2 stars off atmosphere) and I’m tired of battling that just to be able to sit comfortably, order a few coffees and something to snack on, while I get some work done. Guys: you ARE (at least also) a coffee spot/bar - not a full service restaurant - no matter what you say. Not offering internet is just a nuisance. I feel like you’re engaged in a contest of wills with your customers. Ok, no internet, it’s your place, you get your way. But you don’t get my business. Did you win? So instead of spending my money with you on work remote days, someone else gets it. And I don’t think I’ve ever left there having spent less than $25. Not to mention the bags of beans I used to buy on impulse. Still love you, sorta, but you deserve to hear my truth.
That said, it’s still a great vibe, good coffee, nice people, decent outdoor seating. Reminds me a bit of Havana somehow, a good thing.
Really wish I could have the old KS back.
