La Colonia Medical Center - Cutler Bay

My husband had his appointment with the cardiology on 11/10/23. After so much waiting, they had 25 patients for that day when my husband came into the office he found a new cardiologist.he arrived home cold, with very high blood pressure.

My medicine is not arriving when it is supposed to. Also, a wonderful young lady (employee) was driven to leave because she was soft spoken and they wanted loud people there as employees. Her name was Elizabeth better known as Eli. I left two other clinics because I was not receiving my medicine on the days they said it would arrive. Just today I was supposed to receive a medicine and I didn't get it and I've heard quite a few other patients say the same thing so it's not just me. Seriously thinking about leaving to another clinic.

1st Consultation: -Mr. Arbelo, You have more lives than a cat.
2nd Consultation: -Mr. Arbelo, but the cat can run out of 7 lives, your Carotid is 70% thick; We have a new procedure “minimally invasive Vacuum” direct stump removal in the neck.
We, my husband and I, trust in good faith, clear ignorance on the medical side.
My question is, how did three Doctors not see that he was 79 years old and had a compromised heart?
The doctors read the Hosp's medical history. Baptist, where he had a similar procedure done, he was clearly younger and less delicate.
I reacted late after 5 months of death, and I decided to make this comment, to relieve myself from this pain, from which I do not think I can get out easily and after listening to several Doctors unrelated to the case, that a 79 year old patient is considered HIGH RISK AND was It is NEGLIGENCE to subject him to this kind of procedure. I knew of cases, including his cousin (9 years younger) with the same procedure. My husband would have lived longer than a cat, obviously with a low life profile and the necessary care.
December 12,2022, the procedure is performed in Hialeah; On the 2nd day 911, he was transferred to Jackson Hosp.and died after 6 days from several heart attacks.
I called Clinica La Colonia Medical Center in Cutler Bay to inform them and even 5 months later I am still waiting for a response; no explanations, no condolences, after such medical NEGLIGENCE.
What a lack of humanity and delicacy for his patients, his wife of so many years who did not miss any consultation and authorized by him.
I ask all patients to take good care of LA COLONIA MEDICAL CENTER.

I have been at this center since it opened in my town and every day I am more satisfied with the quality of its medical services, the human attention of its workers and the love they give us.

For me, La Colonia Medical Center in Cutle Bay is a high-quality center, from its employees, drivers, nurses, assistants, doctors, with its Director, they form a Team to care for the population of the 3rd age population.

The girls in the lobby stand all day in heels, it seems inhuman to me and completely disrespectful to invest in a pair of chairs!

Some of the staff gets hired within by famiy members so they do what they want because they know they won’t get fired. They have been rude to my mother a few times, especially the cafeteria ladies. Poor service to old sick people. They serve juice, but have a hard time giving you a cup of iced water…

In this Center I have been able to find everything I needed in highly professional medical care and health care in general, with a Wellness Center to complement comprehensive care, a staff that gives everything for our care, and lots of love, dedication and dedication in what they do. God Bless La Colonia, its owners and all its workers! Thank you so much!

My husband and I, want to recognize the staff and management for their excellent support to patients.
Our experience so far has been great from day one since we joined Cuttler Bay facility. We appreciate the time and effort their staff and management make to please their patients. This is our second year that we received turkeys for Thanksgiving, we appreciate the pastelitos and coffee in the patient’s coffee break room they have in all their sites.
The medical team is friendly, professional, and caring. The transportation team as well, they go far beyond to accommodate the transportation of their patients.
We wish La Colonia many years of continued success!
