LA Fitness, Miami FL

I was told to write a review so here goes!
Pros: A lot of different machines, and I like how the cardio floor is separate from the weights floor. Their staff is attentive. Good location and only $50 for a month membership which is cheapest in Coral Gables that I've found.
Cons (not their fault) : ALWAYS CROWDED no matter what time of day. Parking is a hassle, you either have to go into the twisty parking lot from hell, or park illegally at Winn Dixie.
Cons (their fault) : A TON of their machines both cardio and weight machines are rusted, some have the weight knobs broken outright which is pretty unacceptable. 2 of their 5 stationary bikes simply don't turn on. No stretching things such as foam rollers or bands, but they have hula hoops? Also, half their mats look as if someone chewed into them?

Also one of the staff was telling me indepth how to commit insurance fraud in Miami which was kind of funny.

All in all, might return for a day but wouldn't recommend a long term membership.

It depends on the Club; the Kendall and 122 ave club is the best of the ones I have visited recently. The LA fitness of Aventura, the acclaimed city of excellence, it is the worst, with very outdated. Very disappointing.

The Gym is dirty! Period! A PIG'S PEN! -5 stars, it should be closed down for good! NO MUSIC, NO WIFI, THIS PLACE IS FALLING APPART, NEGATIVE 5 STARS

You'll never find dumbbells. 20 min before 10pm they turn off 60% of lights and all ceiling fans. Probably worst gym in florida, for sure worst LA Fitness there is around.

They should enforce a no bag policy for clients and make sure everything is reracked. It is always an issue to find anything and there is no sort of organization

It was a really bad experience. They close the gym early sometimes or hurry us to get out basically kicking us out! And the elevators always broken. This is unacceptable since we are paying for a service and a yearly fee but apparently it’s not getting used for our commodity. I do have to give an extra star because the machines are almost all working which is rare in LA FITNESS.

I want to go out my way to emphasize how TERRIBLE this place is. It’s disgusting, everything is broken, and filled with miami trash

Trash. Dumbbells everywhere, weights old and broken, Front desk people are incompetent and non resourceful. Entrance location is ridiculous. Will never go back nor recommend.

Very clean place.not much staff which is a plus for gyms.i feel so restricted at planet fitness every where you turn there’s an employee breathing down your neck.super quiet and not very full.nice place if you’re looking to just do your own thing unbothered and move on.

Love the place. Clean, spacious, nice view, great machines and lots of them. Great workout.

This location desperately needs to be updated. It’s depressing and makes me feel like I’m living in the early 90’s. I can’t believe the company is able to operate with equipment that seems like it has depreciated over the past 30 years.

It was ok, a little outdated, I prefer my signature LA fitness in Boynton Beach, where all the machines are new and there’s a pool

This LA fitness is criminally mismanaged. There are always 4 “sales” people who sit at their desk and look at their phones. I have never seen them do anything, and there is plenty of work that needs to be done at this gym. 60% of the equipment needs replacing, and the dumbbells are never, and I mean never in the right spot. In another brilliant move they have also have removed all of the sanitizing wipes and disinfectants for the machines. The next pandemic will start at La Fitness Coral Gables branch.

I go to 3-4 different branches, this is managed very poorly by far compare to the others.

Gym is very poorly maintained and managed. Gym goers have no gym etiquette what so ever and there is no one from management in sight to in-force it. Free weights are scattered all over the gym, under machines and at far ends of the gym. People mostly on their phones or with friends hogging machines, benches and weights. Other than some machines themselves being dangerous to work on, wiggly benches and sharp metal attachments on walls. Honestly if you are an avid gym goer this is the worst gym you can possibly go to. Tried reaching out but no luck.

This place discriMinates against non US citizens, I had a 3 day guest pass via email from this place, when ı went there on the 12 th of January, the membership advisor told me that ı should bring an ID to activate it, ı Said ı come from İstanbul and my project was finished. I also told him that ı was a prior Equinox member, and my membership was over and ı was going back to Türkiye soon. He let me see the club, ı took a cardio kickboxing class who was thought by a fat excessively overweight woman, ı also saw that the weight training section is too cramped, too many people in the field, and noisy. The shower room offers no towels and the clientele is no parwith Brickell Equinox, below average, the guys were chatting and staring at people rather than exercising which made me really uncomfortable

Since he told me that ı should bring an Id to activate and ı Said maybe ı should give a second chance, went there on the 12 th january to take a bodyworks class, when ı showed my ID, he Said it should be a US ID, he did not say that it should be a US Id when ı first came here, ı became a member to equinox whose membership is 200 dollars per month, they did not ask for a US Id, they accepted my Turkish one

On the guest pass they are providing, it does not say a US Id should be provided only you are required to be over 16 and you should sign a waiver of liability, they are discriminating against non US citizens, this is purely discrimination

The Gym is very mediocre, with below average quality with guys staring at you and making you uncomfortable, ı will never forget the cardio kickboxing instructor, she was seriously overweight with no muscles, only fat dangling on her underarms, stomach etc, ı guess no physically fit instructor wants to give classes at this place and these chubby people are teaching, a sports instructor should be Slim and fit

I would never be a member of this company even if ı stayed here longer, compared to equinox, it is very mediocre

Machines are old and rusty. People don’t rack weights, they’re all over the place. Good luck trying to find a benches busy times. Parking is a major hassle.
