Lake County Tax Collector's Office, Tavares FL

No one will answer your questions when they don't know what the answer is. You get nothing but a run around about calling the main number. Wait on hold for about 1.5 hours just to get hung up on. Try that for a few days and then nothing ever gets done. Worst experience at a Florida Government facility ever. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else but here.

I took my son there this morning for his driving test. He and I were very impressed with the ease of outside check in, as well as how friendly the gentleman was who did the test. DMV was never one of my favorite places to visit, but I have to say, this one is an exception. Kudos!

I had to get an appointment to renew my driver's license. When I got there and checked in, it was less than 5 minutes before my number was called. I was in and out within 30 minutes.

These people at front desk so rude like they don't like their job, I prefer to drive a few more miles to Leesburg offices.

Pulled in and was met by a young lady with an armed guard in a tent with a fan, radio playing and an attitude of a prison guard.

I cannot say enough positive things about this office! I From the moment I walked in, until I left with the renewal of my driver’s license, every single employee was welcoming, knowledgeable, helpful, as well as very pleasant! It was a most pleasant experience.

So rude At this location I live in lake county I’d rather do the extra drive to Ocala just to get help then get help from these people You call up there they’re rude you go up there they’re rude they act like their job is an inconvenience and they don’t want to help you with anything. Ocala helped me rite away and was so friendly they need to get new staff they are just horrible they act like they hate there job.

Am at the office right my wife has cancer and is sick from chemo and asked how long it would take and was told she wasn't a priority no compasion for cancer patients had to throw up in the bathroom 2 times waited about an hour and a half

This was by far the easiest and most efficient experience I’ve ever had in my 20+ years of driving and renewals. I’m used to Volusia County where you wait in a hot room with 50 other people for hours at a time. Here I waited not even 10 minutes in a plush welcoming setting before my number was called. My title transfer, tag transfer and renewal was processed within minutes and I was out the door. Thank you Lake County for providing such a pleasant experience!

Best experience I ever had at a DMW. I had a complicated issue with a tag and they went out of their way to help me and resolve it. Nice helpful staff.

Super easy to get my Id. Very short wait. Eveyone was super helpful. Easy and simple. The voice is creep tho.

There was a very short wait upon arrival. Their new system is great! Yurika was a pleasure to work with, and made things very easy. I recently moved from another state, and was dreading going to the tax office. I'm glad I chose this location! I will definitely be returning to this location in the future

The new office is awesome and I literally signed in at reception and went straight to a station. In and out in less than 15 minutes!

Came in at 10 AM and was immediately called to the station before I took a seat. I was able to renew my driver's license in less than half an hour! New and clean facility that is very organized.

Renewing tags are a walk in the park at this office. It varies depending on what you're there for, how long you will be in and out. I would recommend this one if you are residing in lake county.

So slow waited 2 hour for a title transfer. Then was told people paying the property tax was more important then what I was there for. This new place sucks.

Well I've been here for 1 1/2 hours and still haven't been called. New and big facility but not enough help. Welcome to Lake County. Thank God I'm moving!

I recently moved from Florida to Georgia, and somehow lost my Florida vehicle registration. I called this office and was helped immediately and efficiently, and they were able to email me my vehicle registration with no problem. I'm very pleased with the customer service, and I am very appreciative of the help I received in such short notice!

Always helpful and friendly. I called this branch today and the clerk was so helpful and polite!
