Lake Regional Urgent Care reviews
27Had to get pre op testing today. So happy I chose to go to LRUC in mount Dora. Virginia was very professional and positive. She was upbeat which made the experience a good one and I will return because of her.
This place is a complete waste of time and money. While the front staff and doctor were all very nice to me and seem professional. I came in with either an ovarian cyst or a 2nd ectopic pregnancy. I was told I’d be going to pillow, for an ultrasound, stat. And that Pillow would call call me. Pillow never heard from them. I called LRUC and was told that the plans had been changed without my notice. That I’d be going to another place, to get a ct scan, and I’d have to wait 4-5 days. I was only prescribed enough pain medicine to maybe get me through the next two days. The whole point of getting a reference to an obgyn was to avoid going to a hospital that mutilated my reproductive system a couple years prior. And avoid spending $300+ to get an ultrasound at the ER just to find out if it’s only an ovarian cyst. I’ve been thrown back and forth all day when I’m already stressed out and it’s making it almost impossible for me to tell my boss if I’ll be able to work my shifts. I’m not the only person who’s experiencing this with them and I’m positive I won’t be the last.
If I could rate lower, I would. Do not go to this place for any reason. The quality of care is terrible. The individuals who answer the phones are incompetent and rude. I was on hold for 10 minutes at one point. I ended up hanging up. I called back later and was immediately placed on hold by Joey. I held for another several minutes and hung un again. The WORST!
My first visit today. Saw Dr Elmir, Very professional! And Friendly! Gave me quick service! The nurse that did Vital signs was very Friendly and professional as well. Will use this service again if needed
Been a patient of Dr. Raymond Dominick for years, and he is an excellent physician (not just pain management, also bio-identical hormone replacement and chiropractic care). Very knowledgeable in exploring non-opioid alternatives to chronic pain. You may have to wait a little while, but the attention and care you receive is definitely well worth it.
I went to LRUC Urgent Care located in Mt. Dora yesterday, 2/15/20. It was a horrible experience. Employees need to improve their attitude towards patients. I felt like an inconvenience when I said I needed to get my ankle brace back on to walk to the x-ray room. I ended up having to walk even though clearly I was in pain without the brace. The X-ray techs were Rodney, lead tech, and Thea, student. After this experience, when the physician came back in to review my x-ray results, it seemed his attitude changed. Again, I felt like an inconvenience. When I asked if my primary doctor would get a copy of the x-ray, he stated no. He continued stating they would not be able to read the copy nor have the knowledge to do so. I wish I would have asked his name so I could insert here but at this point I just wanted to leave. When I checked in, I gave them an x-ray order from my primary doctor that requested a copy be sent to them. It would have been nice of them to tell me prior to giving them payment. I certainly would not have chosen to use their services if they did. I will not recommend this place to anyone.
Make sure you insist they take 2 seconds to glance at your insurance card before sitting down. Took them an hour to even look and tell me they dont take my insurance.
I have been here a few times for bronchitis. My primary cannot seem to prescribe the correct antibiotics for me but here they have. Also one of the doctors here got to the root of my allergies to meds. Very pleased with the service here.
Waited for 3 hours to get a simple physical done. The nurse practitioner informed me that she was unable to perform it and that my $100.00 payment could not be refunded the same day. Very disappointed in the service that was offered and no apology from staff.
It bothers me that the office manager I believe her name to be Amber refers to you as sweetie. This is very unprofessional and disrespectful. Dr. Dominic and the PA Susan where very nice, sympathetic and understanding. It's to bad how the first and last person you encounter can make you not want to come back or recommend this practice. Sorry Dr. Dominic I just thought you should know.
I can't compliment all of the doctor's level of know how at LRUC Mount Dora. I have been going for years. They helped me throughout my breast cancer journey when one-off issues would arise and took time to take my history. In this local area, they've been better doctors to see vs the primary cares I've been to.
I used this facility before and the Staff and Dr.we're really caring. I am going again this morning as I can't swollow, and know that I will be treated well.
Bad doctor.wouldnt see patients, cares only for marajuana patients for profit.trespassed a person only because she wanted to see the doctor and was willing to wait.horrible practice and business.
My wife and I consider this to be the 'go to' place for urgent care in this area. Sometimes if they are busy the wait time can take awhile but in the 10 to 12 times we have been there it has not exceeded 30 minutes. The nurses and doctors are very pleasant and we have never had a bad experience. In our experience, even if your are in pain or in a rush, if you treat the staff with patience and respect they will reciprocate.
The doctors are okay, but the front desk and their whole billing process is as close to a scam as possible. Got a culture done for my girlfriend, and was told it was 50 dollars. Several days later, called back for the results (we were never contacted for when the results came in) they advise us the visit has no fee. We come over, and are advised its 50 dollars for the results for the culture. So if you don't pay this lovely fee, the results of the test you paid for to be done is held hostage. That is something that should be said beforehand if there is going to be a second charge to come out afterwards.
Closed during normal business hours, highly unprofessional. Political messages on their message boards!? How is this wreck of a care center even in business?
Second visit here, always great service. Of course there are wait times, it's an 'urgent' care center, but once in the back, the care is always superb. Ms. Susan Neal is a great Nurse Practitioner and I left feeling like I had the best care EVER! And bottom line, that's what matters.
I always go here instead of the other urgent cares in the area. Very friendly staff and never had to wait that long.
Slow, was only one in clinic and waited 30 min just to get to a room. Would not answer phone, one front window person was just rude. Did not call back like was promised.
Called ahead to see if they treated dehydration. They said they did if needed. Office staff is very very pleasant. But, despite my knowing I dehydrate and pass out frequently due to my illness I knew an episode was coming again. The doctor was very stand offish and offered zofran even when I explained that this is medical procedure with me that my allergy’s prevented me from taking probiotics. Because I questioned him on what he knew about Condition he seemed to get defensive and rude. I have a notebook I carry that explains everything and he didn’t care and didn’t look! So after me explaining iv fluids enter the body differently than oral hydration he got all defensive again. He refused to give me what I needed medically (saline). So I asked for my urinalysis report that clearly shows dehydration! I was trying to prevent a 6th dehydration episode to the ER by coming To this urgent care. I have treated with this doctor before and was surprised at his lack of education and understanding. I have a rare disorder and it requires a certain way of doing things. I do not recommend this urgent care unless you have a cold or small cut. His God like attitude with zero knowledge or lack of reading the materials provided.
Advent hospital is amazing and have hydrated me three times in a month with respect and care. Lucky I know an iv clinic in lake Mary they don’t take insurance but can provide me with what I medically require or I’ll pop over to Advent ER where people actually care and keep educated. I also asked for my urinalysis report that clearly showed dehydration. He allowed me to leave with a current history of passing out! What a shame And money game. Do not trust this place.
