Lakeside Cafe reviews
11Under the circumstances being there, this Cafe is all vegetarian & our breakfast was wonderful. We were even able to sit out on the patio and enjoy the view.
What a disappointment. What did I expect it's hospital food after all.
I went there for breakfast on Friday morning at 8am, while I was visiting my friend at the hospital.
It was quite busy being Friday morning and all.
I saw a video monitor advertising a "Acai breakfast bowl", that looked interesting and delicious. I asked the cafeteria worker, "I would like to get a Acai breakfast bowl. "
The rude employee shortly replied "I don't have that here, you have to order that over there! " She flicked her hand at me, motioning to the other side of the cafeteria
I said Thank you and went over to the other counter and waited in the substantially longer line. When I reached the counter, I said "I would like a Acai Breakfast Bowl please? " The cashier told me "We don't have those. " I told her the other worker told me that you had them and to order it over here. She replied " We do have them, we just don't have them today. " I was so confused.
Instead, I order a mixed berry smoothie and a white chocolate mocha. They both arrived fairly quickly.
Afterwards I went back over to the "hot side" of the cafeteria. I ordered scrambled eggs, two breakfast sausage and tater tots. The portions were miniscule, considering the inflated, hospital price tag. The largest portion was the tater tots, which were served ice cold at best.
The eggs were barely existent and the sausage was dry and flavorless.
The mixed berry "smoothie" tasted like berry flavored ice. Very grainy and it had a off-putting consistency.
The only appetizing thing was the white chocolate mocha. I guess it's pretty hard to screw up Espresso.
My final bill was $18.00. I felt swindled and worse, I left there still feeling hungry.
In my opinion, if you want to have breakfast while visiting someone at this hospital, Don't eat here.
You're budget will Thank you.
Oh well, you get what you pay for. What was I expecting a Michelin star restaurant?
It's hospital food for Christ's Sake!
Once a Foodie, Always a Foodie!
Very good. Food was good, coffe was great.
If I wasn't taking my husband home today I would have lunch there.
I think this is the best option if you have food allergies. Fresh made smoothies and juices. Cold salads, hot bar, sandwich station. Good selection of specialty coffee drinks, cold drinks and snacks.
Food and coffee is awesome, clean place with high quality service to their customers. I will recommend this place to my friends.
Good deal with kids eating free. Casey was very friendly and service was good. Desserts were tasty. Kids enjoyed it. Food and coffee is awesome, clean place with high quality service to their customers. I will recommend this place to my friends.
My fav place for cafe food. I give this spot two thumbs up. Next time I'll be back with my friends. Bring your appetite because portions are generous.
Excellent place for delicious cafe food. The food was tasty. The place has an awesome atmosphere. Menu is like a cafe in Boston I loved.
Lakeside Cafe is the saving grace of Advent Health Orlando cafeteria food.
The menu is different everyday for combo meals, which could range from being eh, to delicious.
Yuca fries, actually seasoned rice, scalloped potatoes, and a few more items are bomb.
Then you have the Ziti which has nearly no cheese and just tastes like pasta and tomato sauce. Whack.
The consistent items like the sandwich station, salad station, and flatbread are typically all very good.
The peanut butter and jelly sandwich, the lakeside salad, all the flatbreads. Bomb.
To be fair though, I'm only impressed because Welch's cafeteria is actually just whack.
Basic cafeteria serving vegetarian options only. If that's your thing get there early, around Noon or so, as the better options usually sell out pretty quickly.
Slowest service I have ever had and the people working do not care at all that they are super slow took over an hour to get two orders of chicken strips
