Lazy Days South reviews
14Should be called “The food poisoning capital “ the fried seafood platter tastes rotten. They even have signs up stating no refunds on food. Don’t eat here. You can pay $50 each somewhere else. And not get sick.
Food tasted horrible tasted similar to a tv dinner gave me and my entire family stomach aches
Place smelled of mold and old fish. All the food tasted old and like a cheap microwave tv dinner. Nobody in our party ate their food because something was off with the food. When we left we all felt sick to our stomachs. I do not recommend this place to anyone at all. You know the food is bad when a sign is hung up stating no refunds on any food. The name fits this restaurant well, so lazy they painted over tape, stick pins & pictures that were already hung up on the walls.
The Restaurant location and view is amazing. The service was to say the least laid back, the initial drink order took 29 minutes and another 20 minutes to be delivered. (If it was busy this could be understood, it wasn't).
The appetizers came somewhat in a timely manner, The quality was okay, the entrees arrived soon afterwards. The Cesar salad was less than expected and sweet tasting, the blackened shrimp lacked any distinctive flavor, the Key West salad again disappointing.
I last dined here in 2017 and everything was excellent. Tonight was truly disappointing coupled with the fact that it was my recommendation to dine here with my family. After my 5 years of being out of country.
It took a long time for a server to even acknowledge us a party of 6 sitting in his section therefore Drinks were slow to arrive. Several of us were disappointed with our meals and they were rather expensive. Over cooked conch, mushrooms in a pasta Primavera when that wasn't noted. Lazy Days north is much better.
If you eat anywhere else you have made a mistake. My wife and I stayed 5 nights in Marathon and ate there each night, perfection in the Keys.
I ordered the chefs recommended seafood broil, it came out seasoned with nothing but paprika, it didn’t taste well. As our server put it, this is just the way its prepared, although the menu description doesn’t mention anything about paprika being it’s only ingredient other that the seafood.
The issue was brought up, but due to the elapsed time and the ridiculous heat, it made more sense to just get a quick mahi sandwich to go since everyone was done eating.
They refused to remove the $42 paprika broil from our check, but comped our sand which, thanks.
So I payed $42 for an also subpar sandwich.
I just can’t recommend this place unfortunately.
Went here on a recommendation, but it must have been different before. That atmosphere was nice & laid back, right on the water. The service was ok. The food was disappointing overall, but my husband said his fresh shrimp were great. I tried 2 cocktails. The first I couldn't drink, it was just awful. The second was a key lime pina colada & it wasn't great either, I drank less than half. The key lime pie was just ok.
THIS USED TO BE ONE OF MY TWO FAVORITE RESTAURANTS.
BUT EACH TIME WE COME, THEY KEEP RAISING THE PRICES!
CUSTOMERS WILL STOP COMING WHEN THEY FEEL RIPPED OFF! AND THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN PEOPLE GET GREEDY!
I don’t understand some of the reviews. I’m not a local; I’m from the Midwest. I found this restaurant to be affordable and delightful!
I’m vegan and they had options for me. My husband enjoyed the yellow fish and shrimp. Much more affordable compared to our resort restaurant.
I enjoyed the service and a nice evening with great food!
Ordered a lobster meal and took one bite and it was not good to me. I then asked waiter to take meal back, at the end of my experience I was told I had to pay for meal. Forty something dollars and I was unable to eat it. Just for fyi I’m 4th generation in Florida I know what lobster taste like
Best conch chowder in the keys! Great service and friendly staff make this a great place for dinner.
It was a very nice setting, and the service was wonderful. The food and the cost were outrageous. I'm saying if you want fresh and local seafood then don't come here. No flavor, and you can tell this is prebreaded and/or frozen. I got stuffed shrimp with crabmeat, and I literally didn't even want the 2nd one. My husband ordered a fried seafood platter, and the portions were awesome, but again, it was totally not fresh and favorable. I would rather eat popcorn shrimp at Popeyes or fishstix at home. Sorry for the bad review, but when you spend $100 for 2 people.you want it to taste good.
