First time here after reading reviews off of facebook, not liking what we read. In short we found this place to be the exact opposite of what was printed. They don't euthanize animals just because, they go out of their way to place all animals in a good home. We adopted a Husky and couldn't be happier. Everyone was incredibly helpful, thank you.

This shelter is horribly ran and enjoys killing animals for the smallest reasons. They have an American bulldog that they are making rescue only due to biting the leash which isn’t a sign of aggression or anything yet this shelter looks for the smallest reason they can to kill animals by putting them rescue only since most rescues are full or struggling to find fosters for pets. If you work for this shelter and partake in the senseless slaughter of innocent animals I hope karma strikes you hard

Awesome service, very professional and at the same time personal. Provided me with essential information and needed services very timely and answered all my questions to my complete satisfaction. The adoption service was very simple and united me with my new forever fur baby! Thank you so much!

A beautiful shelter with some very sweet friends in there looking for homes. I'm allergic to cats so we didn't look at the kitty section but the dog area while of course loud (I personally get overwhelmed very easily, so I brought headphones to help with the noise) the areas were well kept and clean, minus a few excited pee pee accidents. The staff was really friendly and very helpful. If you're looking for a new friend, please consider this shelter!

Great people are so friendly. My mother n law passed, and we live 5 hrs away. They stayed in contact with us and kept him until we could get there to claim him. They had some wonderful pets that needed adoption. Nice clean and organized facility.

Had a great experience adopting my girl fur dog 14-1/2 years ago. Take a check and or gifts to them occasionally and planning on doing so before Christmas.

This is the exact words found on Lee County domestic animals services? Telling us to follow their rules?
*******************per their website copied & pasted.so screw the poor cats that deserve homes right? Unbelievable.

"Do not keep found pets, look for the owner yourself or try
to find the pet a new home. The owner may be frantically
searching for their pet but will not be able to find them if
individuals choose to keep found pets and look for the
owner themselves. Often finders will take it upon
themselves to find the pet a new home when the actual
owner is looking for their pet at the shelter. Be advised that
finders of pets do not have the legal right to rehome the.and so on".

Update: 6/4/23: The cat appeared to have her kittens but not positive where SMH.she is more thin now than ever.i did get 75.00 treatment few months back on her but it didno good she has mange mites? I still try to leave food for her am & pm.and animal Control has done NOTHING. Is it just dogs we saving over there. If I could afford to take her get her treated and get physical I would keep her. I can't trap her? Bc I'm not home during day.plus she leaves to go back to her kittens I followed her 1 day she wanted me to go in back yard with fence I knocked on door no answer hmmm cars in driveway no answer? She goes back there every day.so if they are the owners how can they live with themselves? She deserves a good a life. I'm told by many people animal control would just euthanize her to just don't call them again. Now that is sad.no one has even checked to see if she is chipped?

Update continues to be a 1 star! Unbelievable no one has attempted to call or help

The shelter is the place to go to adopt. The people were so nice in helping us find the perfect kitty. Also, the shelter is very clean and well run. Highly recommend! Our little Missy really is a beauty!

A wonderful place where living animals are treated with respect and kindness. The staff is warm. The pooches and kitties are healthy and diverse. We're looking into being weekend warriors, letting some dogs out for a weekend or a couple of weeks.

Staff and volunteers will stalk and doxx you for surrendering a dog you can no longer take care of, act holier than thou but they won't adopt the dog you are surrendering. This happened to a friend a while back, they were doxxed and harassed on socials after employees and volunteers found them on Facebook. This all after the employees and volunteers made them cry after surrendering their dog. They had already explained they could no longer care for the dog, tried rehoming and no one would adopt him. Do not support this place as they are horrible horrible people.

I had to surrender my neighbor's cat due to neglect and there was nothing they could do for him but recommend euthanasia. He was such a sweet cat if there was anyway to save him, we would have paid to do it. After I surrender him, the vet tech took him back and told me he was eating. What kind people to take this starving cat and at least make sure he eats before he leaves this world. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

I am with SCBR and picked up Spot to get him to a vet and ready for adoption. They had him out very fast and he didn't want to go. Thank you LCDAS for being there when needed. Pets are being dumped and they pick up and do the best they can. Adopters life changes, marriage, babies, moves, job change, your pet goes through changes with you, they can handle it please make sure you can.
