As a woman, when looking for a gynecologist I always paid attention on their eyes, Where is he/she looking at? Is he/she looking straight to my eyes when talking to me? Is he/she answering all my questions? Is he/she treating me as an individual and not a number? Dr Daniel Levin was the one I choose! Always with a humble smile and a good word. I trust him with my 2 daughters who love him as much as I do! As a Birth Doula I recommend Dr Levin with my eyes close! Always respecting a pregnant woman wishes. Always keeping the sacred birth atmosphere, with patience, respect, and honor. Never forgetting that a laboring woman needs care, attention, and a loving touch.

I’m currently 23weeks pregnant and my current doctor is no longer accepting my insurance. I called Dr. Levin’s office yesterday to see if I can make an appointment. Was told by the woman who answered she wasn’t sure if the doctor was accepting new patients and that someone would call me with a response.never heard back from anyone. Real professional this doctor’s staff is.

Dr. Levine is the best doctor ever. He has been my doctor over 10 years. He delivered my third child last year. He is very professional, kind and open minded. Just saw Dr Levin today. He’s been my Gynecologist for almost 2 years now. I’ve never been to a medical office so highly organized. My apt was at 9: 45 and I was in right away. Changed and saw the dr immediately, had a chat and was on my way out just after 10: 05. He’s extremely professional, knowledgeable, and caring. I’d highly recommend him to any woman.

I have known Dr.levin for over 10 years and have watched a complete change in a person. Via his staff and his bedside manner. Deplorable! No woman should feel like she was spoken to with no regard nor told there are medical problems and she needs to order medication via his website. Unfortunately i listened and the outcome was bad. He never returned a phone call nor did his staff. It was nice to see him at "Michaels Restaurant". Drinking with his wife and friends and totally ignored me.

I want to see Dr Levine about 2 years ago. From the very beginning I liked his demeanor and it is clear that he really was trying to help me. I raised some complaints that I had told my previous gynecologist dismissed yet Dr. Levine new to do further tests. He found out I was having a terrible reaction to birth control and he knew exactly what to do to get me better. He really is on the cutting edge with all the latest treatments whether it be bio identical hormone replacement, lasers that fix almost anything, hormone-free iuds, and even testosterone implants for those who don’t want to risk medication being around children or just don’t like taking pills. If there is a new and better way to do something he is doing it! He is also very gentle and does not over order tests that seem unnecessary. His office staff is very friendly and helpful and the office is very nice and eco-friendly. He is also on the younger (but not too young) side so you won’t have to worry about finding a new gynecologist in 10 years.

My appointment was scheduled on Tuesday November 21st at 2: 30 pm and I arrived at 2 pm to make sure I had plenty of time for paperwork. A few minutes after signing in and filling out the paperwork I was instructed to provide a urine sample and then have a seat. At 3: 30 pm I was brought to the back, weighed, and then taken to a room which was actually the doctor's office. I immediately felt odd that I was taken into an office and not an exam room. When I walked inside, Dr. Alvarez introduced himself and a young lady sitting next to him who was a student. This was another event that made me uncomfortable, the fact that I was not asked if it was ok for a student to be present. The next words out of the doctor's mouth were "do you have something to tell me? " I was rather confused and unsure of how to answer him. I mean what kind of a question is that? What is it you are asking me? He then proceeded to ask me a series of generic questions such as if I am on prenatal vitamins, if I drink, use contraceptives, and so on. He also asked me when my last cycle was and I told him I am not regular but it was sometime in the beginning of October. After a few minutes of that, he said they would be doing an ultrasound and he would be giving me samples of vitamins.

I was led into the ultrasound room where the tech told me her name and to undress and put on a gown. As she began the ultrasound she was completely silent. I figured maybe she is not a talker and lay there as she did her thing. After what seemed like an eternity of complete silence, out of nowhere she said "well I don't see a fetus anywhere. " Now as you can imagine, at that very moment I felt my heart in my throat. I was instantly numb and my brain was pounding in my head. She gave me one wet wipe to clean up the mounds of lube and told me to get dressed after which she proceeded to lead me into the hallway and told me to wait.

I was then led back into the doctor's office where he told me that nothing was seen on the ultrasound except my fibroids and he would do an hcg level to check my levels. He also stated that since my periods are not very regular, it could be early for the ultrasound. He then led me out of the office, told a nurse to pull blood and went back to his office. I left the office, walked to my truck, and broke down in tears. I cried because I was so incredibly sad that nothing was seen, I cried because I have never in my life felt so uncomfortable and disgusted by a doctor's visit. I cried because he did not even have the decency to give me prenatal vitamin samples like promised which made me feel like he was certain I had no viable fetus inside me. The next day he called me with my results which were at 1004, a level that I've since then learned that is way too low to actually see anything on an ultrasound.

So that is how a first time pregnancy visit with an obgyn should NOT go. At no point was I asked about previous history for if I was, he would have known that my previous pregnancy ended with a miscarriage. At no time was an exam of any kind performed and besides the handshake, his hands were nowhere near my body at any point. At no time was anything discussed about medications that can and cannot be taken during pregnancy, foods to avoid, things to look for, etc. I could have very well walked out of that office and feasted on sushi, taken advil instead of tylenol, and.you get my point. Irresponsible is perhaps the best way I can describe his attention to me. At no time did he explain to me the drastic difference that hcg levels can make for an ultrasound.

It took me a long time to calm down and not be so upset after my visit. I ended up making an appointment with a different obgyn who explained to me that an ultrasound should have never been done just like that so early. An hcg level, exam, std testing, pap smear, and a thorough discussion about what to expect and do/not do should have been done first with a follow up visit scheduled for the ultrasound depending on what the hcg levels showed.

I LOVEEE IT! Dr. Joan Alvarez is my doctor. He answered all concerned and is extremely helpful which made me feel very comfortable. I recommend everyone!

Dr. Levine is one to build a patient/Doctor relationship with. He has excellent bedside manners. During your appointment he answers all your questions and explains any concerns you may have.
