Lona by Chef Richard Sandoval, Tampa FL

Stopped in for drinks one week, then made plans for my birthday dinner. Great service and delicious food. Rather you sit at the bar or dine in the restaurant a totally enjoyable experience.

Atmosphere is great. Food is bland and way overpriced for the quality. The lobster quesadillas were a big let down. Chips were stale. Bill for a family of 4 just under $200. Do yourself a favor and find a better spot.

We arrived and the hostess seemed as if he didn’t want to serve us. Come to find out they canceled our restaurant without notice.

Than they sat us and kept reminding. Us the kitchen was closing. Then they forgot to give us the appetizer. As we were clearly eating the server kept asking what they could clear off the table.

Than when we asked for a drink she forgot to tell us the bar did a last call.

All in all a place where they don’t appreciate business and makes it feel like they did a favor by serving us. The food was low on salt and not much flavor. Disappointing

Too small portions for the price. Plus, Natalia charged an 18% tip for the takeout order (and asked me to fill out the gratitude).

Great food. The guacamole is the best I've ever had. The place is fairly noisy and loud. Outside seating is quiet.

Excellent food & service. Our party of six dropped in at prime dinner hour on a Saturday and we were seated at the bar. All staff were friendly and accommodating. Everyone I was with raved about their dishes.

Salmon was amazing, as well as hostess & waits staff, highly recommend!

Food was good! Service not that much. I have a mix feelings about to come back. But I enjoyed the atmosphere

The food was delicious and the service our waitress Alana provided was especially top notch. The manager also came to our table to ensure a great experience. The atmosphere was decorated contemporary Mexican style. At the same time capturing a romantic vibe. Huge screen displays sports as well. Even has nice outside patio to enjoy. Best Lunch Specials, and happy hour.

We were staying at the hotel and made reservations to eat at another restaurant that was more expensive than we thought and lacked the views we thought we would have. Trying to salvage the night, we ended up at lona and were pleasantly surprised! Being from Phoenix, we are used to great Mexican food. Lona surpassed every expectation. We have the guac with bacon. Awesome! Chips were great! Skirt steak fajitas. Yum! Plenty of food to take back to the room. They also had a great selection of drinks. The quality, price, and service were great and we hope to go back! I hope you will consider them because I love supporting places that deliver

We have been to Lona three times now and each time the experience has been wonderful. The food & drinks are amazing, servers are attentive and they have a beautiful atmosphere! We will definitely keep coming back. Tampa finally has a great Mexican restaurant!

We had a lovely experience at Lona. I’d love for some of the dishes to have a little more heat, but they’re beautifully plated and the drinks are delicious.

Terrible service. Our family had dinner here last night. We waited 10-15 before we were greeted by our server. Once our food was delivered we waited at least 10 minutes for silverware, and that was after asking three different employees if someone could get some for us. My husband ordered fajitas and the tortillas and toppings weren’t brought to the table for 10+ minutes. Another good order was wrong. Manager was informed and didn’t seem to care very much. Food was just okay and our bill was just under $300. Will not eat here again.

The food was bland and not impressive at all. To top it off as we were getting ready to pay there was a roach walking on the table. Definitely a never again.

My wife and I sat at the bar- First had an bartender attentive with water and our first drinks. Apparently she left for break and there was 2 bar backs walking around not making eye contact bc they didn’t know what they were doing. 2 gentleman attending to glasses and silverware. Every step of the way for additional drinks and food we had to wave them down. Appetizers came without silverware. 2 of them working or cleaning I Had to wave my hand for a fork. I am not one to complain for service but this main bar management needs to really make a change. If I could give a -10 I would- Save yourself the headache and find something else. I will not be ever coming back to this place.

The food was delicious, especially the crab lump with guacamole. Ronnie was our server and he was awesome! Very attentive and friendly. We'll definitely be back!

I checked out the new Lona inside the Marriott Water Street, the food, service and atmosphere were amazing! A group of us gathered to enjoy some Sunday football but it's ideal for any occasion and would recommend it to others. Thank you Lona for an enjoyable evening and I look forward to seeing you again soon.

I visited Lona with a group of 10 for a birthday dinner. The atmosphere is very nice and the restaurant is beautifuly decorated. The dining and bar areas were spacious and comfortable. Our server (who's name is pronounced LNE) was fantastic and took very good care of us. I did find several issues though. Firstly, most of our party found their meal to be mediocre. Secondly, we were told while getting our bills that they could only split the bills 3 ways. We had 5 couples, and even the manager couldn't tell us why the bill couldn't be split 5 ways beyond "our computer crashes" Thirdly, the "automatic" toilet flushes when you don't want it to, and doesn't flush when you need it to, and the hand soap was inoperable. For the price we paid, I'd expect better facilities.

Went with a friend to hangout on a Saturday…watch football and enjoy some drinks/snacks. This restaurant was excellent! Drinks and food were delicious! Ricky… bartender…was knowledgeable about all kinds of tequila and was very attentive! The vibe/decor is cool and fun! Will definitely be back.

Bad attention.
I arrived at 10: 25pm today, Sunday.
No one attended to us, no one came to ask us or even tell us if there was no longer an opportunity to serve us.
The guys at the bar just watched but didn't come out to help us.
