We came to do a two-tank dive at Looe Key. You can snorkel as well. We really enjoyed the dive. It is very shallow (30 feet - ish). My diving has typically been much deeper and one thing to note about this is that buoyancy is different at this shallower depth and you may require a bit more weight. I actually went back to the boat to grab a few extra pounds because I was having difficulty staying down. The extra weight made it far more relaxing.

There are tons of sea fans and other marine life. We saw stingrays, green moray, file fish, midnight parrot, lobster, sharks, angels, trumpets, etc.and barracuda or tarpon (i get these two confused). Visibility was about 30 feet and I am told this is good for this area.

The crew onboard were all friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They have snacks onboard (chips for $1) and also sell beer for $5. There is a cold water dispenser as well (free). You can tip in cash and they also take venmo.

There was some confusion with the booking of our room (partially my fault) so we ended up with the "accessible" room instead of the canal view. This was totally fine with us and Yvonne was very helpful with straightening things out.

The room was a very basic/no frills room that, in my experience, is typical of dive resorts. There is no small table or chair in this particular room, which would've been nice, and also it would be great to have hooks somewhere (inside or outside or both) for hanging gear. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

We tried to have lunch at the tiki restaurant when we arrived but the chef hadn't showed up (90 minutes late at that point) so we ended up going across the street to Boondocks. I had the panko-encrusted tuna (appetizer) and it was REALLY GOOD. It was Saturday so there was a farmer's market in the parking lot which was cool.

We were pretty tired that evening and went over to the tiki bar and grabbed a pizza and the soft pretzel with cheese and brought it back to the room. Both were very tasty. They had live music which sounded great (even from the room, lol! So you may want to bring ear plugs if that would be an issue for you; it's not super loud but you can definitely hear it).

We live in Fort Lauderdale and will likely return for future visits.

Hotel Check in: Great service, she had called to confirm our arrival time and the check in process was a breeze. The key cards worked every time and she also gave us extra coffee.

Dive Center Check in: Super friendly and helpful in finding the right gear and fit for my daughter, nicely stocked with all kinds of things you may want to rent of buy

Dive Boat: These guys are awesome, friendly, funny and attentive to the safety of the passengers. There are snacks and drinks aboard for a small fee and reef friendly sunblock. The divemaster kept a close eye on those in the water to make sure people were being safe. As soon as we surfaced from our dive either the Captain or Dive master had eyes on us. On time departure and return.

The pool was kept at a great temperature and the parking lot is large and accommodating to larger vehicles like my 4 door Tundra.

The BAR Staff: I ordered chicken wings which were delicious and the bartender Anthony was super friendly, helpful and attentive. He also provide some great information about local activities and places to see. The patrons we interacted with at the bar were all friendly and eager to get to know about you.

Only two minor items, the ice machine was broken but the guy was there fixing it for two days, no less. Also we stayed 3 nights but were only given 2 paper coffee cups and two caffeinated coffee packets. I went to the office and got more coffee but the cups required me to chase the housekeeper's cart. But again, these are only minor items, otherwise the room was clean and relatively comfortable (bed is a little hard) and well stocked with towels, coat hangers, refrigerator, microwave, and plenty of electrical outlets.

Old Florida dive resort. Accommodations are simple, but perfect for lugging wet dive gear around. The dive was AMAZING and the dive master was great. Fantastic little place. Highly recommend if you are making a dive trip through the Keys.

Great snorkel trip out to the reef. Boat was long and wide with a top along the entire length to keep you out of the sun. Check in was smooth and the captain and mate were great and plenty of fish and coral to see. Best $50 I’ve spent in a very long time.

We did not stay here so unable to review that. We had a group with 4 divers and 2 snorkelers. I must say this is one of the most beautiful reefs here in the Keys! I definitely would recommend diving or snorkeling it. James and Josh were our crew and they were quite helpful. I was surprised that there was no dive guide provided but, it is an easy reef to navigate and we are certified divers. I have been spoiled by other operators in the Keys who always have a guide in the water with you. The property has a large Tiki bar that appears to have entertainment so I think it would probably be a cool place to stay.

Excellent Snorkeling to colorful looe key reef. Boat captains (James and Katie) were extremely skilled.knowledgeable and safe on the water. We saw turtles, dolphins and sharks. A fun casual boat atmosphere.

Thanks to a recommendation by the friendly woman checking us out of our room, we decided to book the snorkeling tour last-minute.

It was a GREAT decision. Perfect day, nice boat, snacks, drinks, & water available for reasonable prices onboard. There was plenty of gear for loan, including snorkeling vests and noodles. (We brought our own gear, which was also allowed.)

Katie and Josh were so friendly and welcoming, but down-to-business regarding safety and expectations. Katie seemed very experienced and yet still excited to be out there with us. Josh offered lots of useful tips for new snorkelers and suggested that once we got in the water we should take a few breaths to relax and get horizontal where the sea would help us float. Helpful advice!

They played fun music as we traveled out to the reef and we were soon in the water. Our tour saw many kinds of fish, barracuda, reef sharks, and a grouper! Another highlight were several dolphins jumping as we made our way back to the shore.

Room was clean with a refrigerator/freezer, coffeemaker, ice bucket, and teas. Tiki Bar next door had loud, live music.

It is a nice stop directly on the highway. I love the back-Balcony with the the few into the little boat waterstreets.
Personnel is very friendly and helpful.

Snorkeling with Capitan Katie on Looe Key from the Looe Key Resort was a Blast, reasonably priced with fun informed masters.

This was an amazing snorkeling experience! The staff on the boat were amazing. They were fun and lively, but they take the trip seriously to make sure everyone is safe. The day we went the water was pretty clear and the marine life was beautiful. We saw barracudas, groupers, a sea turtle, and a shark to name a few. It was a last minute plan to go and we were not disappointed. I would definitely recommend if you have the time!

We have been coming here for the last 3 years, and we are a little disappointed with out last visit. We had a party of 5,3 snorkelers and 2 SCUBA. I don't know if they are short staffed or what, but they always used to have a few employees on the boat to make sure that everyone's gear was working properly. This time, only the captain and first mate were there. Can't really say anything bad about the experience, but it was ALWAYS my experience that the captain or first mate would help the scuba divers climb the ladder out of the water. They watched us get out and didn't do anything to help. Not sure what that was all about. Just seems like a common courtesy, grab fins and help climb out and assist to your seat.

The reef is always awesome.

Room was not near worth what we paid. As others have said, Like going back to the 60s and is not what the website portrays. If you like sleep you can forget it. The band from the tiki bar may as well be in the room with you it's so loud. Beds don't even have head boards. We came for the 7 mile bridge run for my wife and she will be running with very little sleep. Live and learn.

Captain Katie was amazing! So welcoming, knowledgeable, fun, and passionate about the beautiful reef and waters! We’ll never forget our outstanding experience! I’ve snorkeled in the Caribbean and never saw so many fish and such beautiful water!

Great time for the entire family! The staff was friendly and we saw tons of fish, turtles, sharks and more! Would recommend!
