Louis Michaelos, D.O. reviews
4Excellent results. 20/20 vision for the first time since I was a child. Excellent service. Highly recommend St. Michaels for cataract surgery.
Excellent Doctor. He did my cataract operations. Highly recommended.
5+ stars, Dr Michaels and all the staff, thank you! Linda was my pre-op nurse, angel sent from heaven, of course I was nervous and she was awesome, even had me laughing. Thank you, Linda. I had CE IOL w/ELIOS on Thursday and on Friday on my first return visit, I was almost at 20/20. Excellent service from day one, highly recommended.
Okay this is going to be long.
I am 32 years old and a little over a year ago Dr. Louis performed Lasik on my eyes. Let me give you a little background on my eyes.
I first got glasses in the 3rd grade. My eyes progressively got worse every single year, never did I have two years in a row of no changes. In 2012 I had double retina attachments with unknown cause. One eye was 20% detached, the other was 80%. My retina doctor fixed them up and put a scleral buckle around the more detached one. I was told I would never be able to have corrective surgery.
I was told my lenses could not correct my vision fully ever, that this is the best they could do. I couldn't drive at night, I couldn't see medians, guard rails, road signs. There was no point in going to concerts/musicals/plays because I couldn't see anything unless I'm in the front row (which, who could afford those tickets?). I cried so many times over how poor my vision was. As a grown woman, I got lost in the grocery store when my husband left my side. I had to have my friends meet me at the front of the restaurant or else I couldn't find them. I thought it was hopeless.
Then one day my left eye completely blurred up, I couldn't see anything for days and then weeks out of it.
My eye doctor sent me to a specialist (Dr. Louis) who first treated my eye problem (which was severe dry eye caused by long term contact lense use). After my vision came back, I asked (thinking he'd say no way) if I could possibly get Lasik because I was so tired of living like this. He was so compassionate and sympathetic to my situation and truly wanted to help me. For about the span of a year, first to completely treat my dry eye problem, he worked with me and his colleagues to make sure my eyes were healthy enough for treatment. We both thought originally it would just be a partial correction, which I was over the moon about because anything would help, but ended up being able to completely correct them with Lasik. He said my eyes were -13/-14 at the end of my vision journey leading up to Lasik. It did take the full 6 months after the surgery to heal completely and the care Dr. Louis and his staff took of me and my eyes were the best care I've ever experienced in my life (Healthcare wise). I now can see 20/20 and I'm so grateful every single day for him. I went from being hopeless and honestly depressed about my vision to being able to see perfectly. The quality of my life has improved drastically and I just can't say enough how thankful I am.
I would recommend Dr. Louis and St. Michaels to the highest degree! If you are anything like me, there is hope and I highly recommend going to see them! Thank you so much Dr. Louis!
