Malibu Apartments, Tampa FL

Changing my review after move-out. Apartment Management is dreadful. Was charged almost 700 dollars for canceling my lease even though I was never made aware they would charge it. They do not answer phone calls, they do not ‘allow for disputes’, and do not respond in person. Apartments are spacious but often issues are not resolved after MONTHS of emails. Issues with residents swept under the rug, literal threats and intimidation against employees like nothing happened. I did not feel safe living here. I was also a previous employee like one of the reviews below me and the issues the presented in it are still the exact same. Avoid at all costs.

Friendly staff, and gated apartments. Rent is affordable and includes utilities. If there is ever a maintenance issue staff is very on point and quick to fix stuff.

Very dated. Based on what I’ve seen from social media the apartments has been managed by the same person for a decade and looks as though it was decorated and unchanged since then. The office staff is not helpful or excited when I visited I had questions and was answered by a lot of I don’t know and calling for Lisa to help who also yelled from here office. The pool with 3 chairs and white appliances. If you are looking for a cheap room this is for you if you want luxury look around.

Overcharged on electric bill every month and will add fake "cleaning" fees on move out. Constant bugs, and we had about a 1 1/2" gap under the front door, which probably added to the bug problem and electric bill problem since we were effectively sending the AC right out the door. Also the keep repainting the walkways but they don't clean or prep the surface at all so it ends up peeling after a few weeks.
