Mandolin Aegean Bistro reviews
21I can’t wait to go back. What a gem this restaurant is. Just came back from Greece weeks and eating here is not only bringing me back to Greece, but it’s even better. “Everything” was phenomenal. Wish I took pics of everything we ate and drink but got some at least.
The place is simple and nice, but at the same time very different for most places, make you feel in a backyard! The food is delicious and the services have a very good size and might feed more than one person! The service was not the best but it was okay! Also price is good.
I am glad a client recommended this great place. I will bring the family now that i know. Atmosphere gets mega bonus points!
Our 1st date was here in 2012 so for our wedding anniversary, we came in for dinner once. The place always hits the mark but the service this time was exceptional. Chris really delivered exceptional service and made the night special for us. Great guy and great restaurant.
Very heavy food, besides being very expensive, I wouldn't do it again, but at least the fish is delicious and the atmosphere is very good.
I was dreaming to be at this restaurant as a Turkish woman. I could not make a reservation last year due to the busy season. However, this year I had a chance to have dinner there with my lovely friend who I was talking about this restaurant.
First, the hostess did not even say “Hi” at the entrance before asking about the reservation. The ambiance was great in their garden/patio only one thing missing: music.
We had 3 different waiters during dinner. One of them was the worst waiter we have ever seen. He was kind of “ I am tired and I do not want to serve right now. “
And the biggest disappointment: THEY DO NOT HAVE RAKI or UZO! We were shocked. How they can describe their restaurant as a “ Greek - Turkish restaurant “ without serving traditional drinks of both nations? Such a shame. Plus, their white wine list is very limited for a restaurant established hot weather climate entire year.
The food was good but not Wooooooow.
I think this restaurant is no more than a “tourist attraction” food serve restaurant.
My first and last time being here.
The place is amazing, the food is incredible delicious! We had an amazing time at this place. In this incredible place only one thing was missing and this is the good greek music. I don’t know why they don’t play any music but if they play greek music the atmosphere would be even better.
The food here is great. You will find flavors you can't find anywhere else. It's legit Mediterranean. The ambiance is super romantic.
However, service is very subpar. It seems like people are rushed in getting everything done. Interactions with your server really leave you wishing for something more. Plus, once they take your order, they disappear.
Prices are okay, and dishes are meant to be shared, which means you can order many things from the table. Recommendations are the Manti Dumplings, the Baked Feta, and the Moussaka. As for desserts, the baklava and the honey pie excel.
Anyone truly familiar with Mediterranean food would not be impressed by this restaurant. Ambiance is cute, but food and service were both equally disappointing.
This is a place I've gone to 10+ times and it's a place I will always recommend. Mandolin never goes wrong. It's a place that we go that we know we will always be satisfied! Everything is made to perfection and staff is attentive and kind.
Favorites:
Moussaka…
Beautiful place with a wonderful vibe. This restaurant was recommended by nearly everyone but the food was so mediocre It was hard to find and taste what everyone was talking about. The dips are beyond average, in fact they weren’t good at all and the white bread they serve with it was hard, cold, stale and not tasty in the slightest. Why not serve a hot, beautiful pita brushed with olive oil? The chicken souvlaki was fine. I can get that at any fast food Greek restaurant. Everything was just so underwhelming. The sorbet was overly sweet and the baklava had a mushy texture. Wasn’t into it at all.
Great experience all around. The atmosphere was incredible and truly transported me. The food was incredible! You can’t go wrong. I went two days in a row while in town! Great friendly staff, this is a must.
Great ambiance, very tasty food and GREAT service! The waiter went out of his way to provide us with the best experience at the restaurant
Mandolin, an Aegean restaurant in Miami, offers a delightful culinary experience. Starting with the mezzes, the cheese saganaki and kofte are excellent choices. The Greek village salad with fresh tomatoes and cucumbers is a refreshing option. For mains, the stuffed tomato and peppers, manti dumplings, beef souvlaki, and moussaka are all must-tries. The presentation and taste of the food are exceptional, bursting with delightful flavors. It's challenging to pick a favorite since each dish is so delicious.
The restaurant's outdoor ambiance is beautiful, particularly in the late afternoon when the weather is cooler. They have done a commendable job of providing ample shade and fans to ensure a comfortable dining experience. The service is consistently excellent, with knowledgeable staff and prompt service.
If you're dining with a group of four or more, it's recommended to order a variety of dishes and share, allowing you to explore the diverse flavors Mandolin has to offer. Don't miss out on the delectable desserts, such as the locally sourced honey pie, which is incredibly delicious, and the fresh and delightful baklava.
Overall, Mandolin is a fantastic Aegean restaurant in Miami, offering a delightful outdoor setting, excellent service, and a menu filled with flavorful dishes. Whether you're looking for a satisfying meal or a memorable dining experience, Mandolin is a great choice.
This place is must for Miami, make a reservation before hand! The whole restaurant is outside which in July was a bit hot, but manageable. The food was outstanding! We had some of the specials and they were so flavorful and tasty. Quality food that fills you up without making you feel gross. It's all so fresh! Can't wait to come back next time I am in Miami.
Highly recommended for young people and lovers of western Mediterranean dishes. The Aegean, in its full culinary expression.
Warning: most of the reviews are Fake.
Very OVERRATED! Ultra Expensive without the Quality part of the equation. If I pay premium I expect premium. In this case you pay the Instagram Location!
Tourist Trap. Of you read reviews about how good the food is, i really have to question their taste. Food taste was below average. Service was really slow and it is outdoor so, unless the weather is nice outside (very rare in Miami) you will be sweating inside this place.
Staff is super nice and helpful. Loved the food so much especially the mussels! However, the place was filled with flies that made enjoying the food a bit difficult.
Mandolin has the best Greek food in town! The quality of the food tasted just like what I ate daily when visiting small towns along the Aegean Coast. The decor and atmosphere is very much in the style of a Greek beach-front bistro.
Outstanding! Always! Had my birthday dinner here, this place never disappoints. Food was incredible, great atmosphere, attentive service. We always go for one of their specials, delicious prawns, Greek sampler and of course baklava! 5/5 worth your visit
