Marco Island Historical Museum reviews
15Awesome historical exhibits ranging from 50 years ago to 500+. Free, clean and extremely friendly staff. No reason not to stop in.
Really enjoyed coming here! Beautiful art, very educational, has some coloring activities for kids, lovely gift shop, and the ladies at the font desk were very nice.
Really beautiful little museum with fascinating information about the history of Marco Island.
This Is A Very Interesting Museum To Visit While You’re Here On The Island, To Get An Educational/Historical Understanding Of The Island & The Natives.
Awesome! We were surprised by how big it was and how much history info they had to offer. They show a short video on how the island became what it was today, very interesting. I wish we had more time to go through and really look at everything, it was fun and very interesting. Friendly staff
Lovely museum, learned a lot about the history and development of Marco Island. Staff were all super friendly
Very informative, detailed history of the island and it's native heritage, fun for the kids and adults, friendly staff, very amazing place, a must see if you are on the island! You would never guess how much history this island has and you can truly grasp it with the trip here.
A very good museum. I was fortunate to visit on the first day of its new photo exhibit. The receptionist was helpful and friendly.
This is an amazing place; if you want to get an idea of what the area was like pre-development, please make a stop here. The exhibits, text and graphics, are so professional and reflect a lot of research and knowledge. The employees and volunteers are wonderful!
There is no charge to enter the museum but if you donate 5 dollars you receive a set of post cards of the marco cat. I recommend spending a half a day here if you like reading about the history of marco. I learned many things I didn't realize took place.
This museum was a pleasant surprise and a nice stop while on our first visit to the island. It was larger and more professionally presented than I would have assumed. Both the sections on Native American history and the story of the island development were very interesting.
A very interesting and informative little museum. Individual at the entrance shared good information on the museum. A lot of artifacts and displays. Plenty of things to read to get more information. A few activities for the kids. Spent a little more than an hour. Some in the group would have gladly spent more time. Would highly recommend.
What a great museum on the history of Marco and the story of being inhabited for over 6000 years! And the development of the current Marco Island. Hands on interactive as well. Lot's of great pieces of history.
Interesting to read about and watch the video on the history of the island. Cool artifacts and pictures from the past. Just a donation recommended. Definitely recommend!
We enjoyed a lovely museum experience with lots of interesting archaeological and historical artifacts, pictures and displays. The grounds beautiful with a bridge that led to a gazebo where you could sit.
