I was expecting a good work quality considering the reviews. The sipper for the dress was not placed back properly, not being able to close fully. The dress hem line was not leveled, it was very much crooked. The dress side slit was sewed wrong, leaving it with a weird twist on the area. I turned in my dress 1 week and a 1/2, on April 26. And was told it would be ready Saturday May 6th. Turns out, they start working on the outfit the day of pick up. Meaning they work rushed with little time. I called Saturday May 6th to see if it was done around 10am. Nothing, I called at 3pm and the dress was still not done. I was told it would be done by 5pm. So I got to the location around 4: 10pm because I live far away. I didn't leave until 6: 40pm very dissapointed and dissatisfied. Don't go here! They don't work on your clothes with time. They work on it the same day you are suppose to pick it up and probably only spent 2 hours on the job.

They took a size 14 dress that I had to hold to keep from falling down and altered it to a size 4. They altered the neckline to make it a square neck instead of a high neck, added a belt, added lace to the back, added buttons and changed the petticoat under. Of all the places I got quotes from they were the only ones who considered how the dimensions of the dress would change as a result of taking it in so much.

I have been coming to Margarita's Alterations for the past five years now, and have NEVER been disappointed.
First and foremost, they're a family-owned business, which I love. Margarita and the staff are all super sweet, and I can't say enough good things about Candy. She makes every experience at this business an absolute pleasure.
Secondly, they can (and will) fix anything. I cosplay professionally and have brought everything from gowns and superhero outfits to leather jackets and racing suits: each and every garment has been altered to PERFECTION. No matter how annoying the material is, how much needs to be changed, or if a zipper is in the way: the team at Margarita's is beyond capable of taking on anything and everything you throw at them.
Thirdly, they work within a timely manner and are usually done ahead of schedule.
I cannot recommend them enough!

I never write reviews but I had to say Margarita’s Alterations is amazing! Everyone (from the front to the back) is super friendly and accommodating, and as soon as I stepped in I immediately began getting my dress measured according to my body. I waited a week to get my dress back to me, and it had a perfect fit! Every seam and pleat was clean, straight, and professional. This dress now fits like a gem and it’s as if it had never been altered. I’ve already been recommending to my friends and family! Thank you so much!

(The awkward pictures show what they changed. In the before pictures, I had to tie it in the back to make it fit. The skirt used to be too long, it didn’t fit around my waist, and the straps were also too long. From there, they adjusted the waist, the straps, and hemmed the skirt.)

I honestly thought it would be less pricy but it was honestly worth it. In life, you truly do get what you pay for it and this was 100% worth it.

I don’t trust anyone else with my traditional attire! Last year they fixed my wedding dress and this year they fixed my guest at a eddding dress. All the traditional dresses I buy end up being too big for my height/small figure and they are able to fix it everytime without issue. If they can fix my dresses they can fix anything. I went to Margarita’s to have my wedding dress altered. Since I am having a Hindu ceremony, my wedding dress is a lehenga, which can be challenging to alter. They were incredibly helpful, kind, and patient. Candy (Margarita’s daughter) was extremely responsive and even texted me when my dress was ready. The alterations are perfect and I am so excited to wear this perfectly-fitting wedding dress! Additionally, they tailored a tie for me to match my dress. I would highly recommend this wonderful shop to anyone!

I had three dresses altered by this lovely business in December, whilst visiting family. My dresses where very complex and we’re tailored impeccably. The prices are more than reasonable, and will use their services again when in town.

I have been on a scavenger hunt for MONTHS for a good tailor.
After searching relentlessly and trying out a few spots that really didn’t meet my expectations I stumbled upon margaritas alteration. A friend of mine recommended it to me and at this point I was willing to try anything. The moment I stepped in the staff was extremely friendly and they made sure I was taken care of down to the exact fit of every article of clothing I tried on. After about 5 days I got everything back and I have to say I was absolutely impressed, the level of work and attention to detail is insane. I couldn’t be happier and I will definitely be coming back again in the future.

I’ve read the reviews on this website, and while the consensus speaks to Margarita’s professionalism, and the unquestionable quality of her work, I choose to focus on her persona. Margarita, a woman who definitely knows what she’s doing among all those fabrics and laces, has years of experience, impeccable taste, a solid track record. And yet, she doesn’t boast, she’s just refreshingly accomodating and unassuming. I believe that in this day and age such traits, coupled with the know how, are a hard find in Miami. Margarita’s locale is small, tidy, comfortable, and super cute. In fact, it looks more like an English haberdashery than your run of the mill alterations place. Check it out. You won’t be disappointed.
