If I could give a ZERO, I would. My mom had my grandma stay as a long term care resident at this place because she is suffering from dementia and could not take care of herself. She would accuse people of breaking into her apartment and stealing, ordering movies at her expense etc etc. My mom was her main target despite the fact that she was trying to help her the most at the time. Well this place made it to where mom couldn't see her, couldn't get updates so much so, that my grandma gave all of her belongings away to a "pastor". He quickly sold her condo and pocketed the money. To be clear this facility made it to where this con artist had access to my grandmother, while the family was kept at bay by the facility. We would voice our concerns, and they didn't really seem to care. Once this happened, my grandmother discharged herself from the facility and they will NOT tell anyone from the family her whereabouts. This place is sick and played a front seat role in making this old lady penniless and now without family. When this place was picked by the family, we told them all about my grandmothers issues. Yet they did everything to help alienate the family from my grandmother. We kept calling her social worker trying to get information on her whereabouts, and she would hang up on us. No care in the world! THANKS MARGATE REHAB, YOU ARE THE BEST!

Anyone who has a loved one who is suffering from dementia do not take them here, you will lose your love ones as a result of the power given to this place.

I give one star because they never answer the phones! There's no way to get ahold of your loved ones and for such a big facility I'm surprised that they don't have someone working the phones. I was considering long term care for my mother here since she's in rehab but the phone issue is a deal breaker for me. What a shame. They should read the reviews here. Many complaints on this.

Terrible phone service. Administrator seldom answers her phone. And has yet to return any of my calls.

I had my mom at this nursing center for a foot ulcer that caused a severe infection in her bone. The antibiotics were very strong and her acid reflux got severe. The acid reflux medication they were given her at this nursing was not helping. Mom started deteriorating and her kidney started failing. I had to take a leave of absence from my job to help her out at the nursing home. Mom condition worsen as the doctors there could not diagnose her dementia illness and did not change her acid reflux pills. She was only in the nursing home 3 weeks and she lost 27 lbs. I tried taking her out of there and I felt like they were making impossible for me. Mom started having chest pain and I had to call 911 since they did not have any doctors on call that evening. The paramedics came and took her over to the hospital. At the hospital they would fix one thing and another would come up from the situation. Last, they send her home with Vitas hospice since her kidneys were failing. The Vitas doctor removed her from all her medications and started her slowly with a few meds until she was able to gain her strength. Little by little she started turning around. All I can say is that Vitas Hospice saved my moms life and she is still alive today. All I am saying is you have to stay on top of the nursing homes or the patience will die.

Margate used to be a wonderful facility before it was sold off to some brand new company called Onyx. Ever since they have taken over this facility, things have just been getting worse and worse. The quality of products has gone down (they use toilet paper that feels like sand paper and bedsheets used to wash patients because they don’t have towels), the quality of food has gone down (they don’t have basic things like boiled eggs and god forbid you ask for something not on the menu, every week something is “not available due to shipping issues”), staffing has gone down (all these new faces, everyone does more than one job “dual roles” and I’ve talked to the staff, they all complain and say they’re looking for jobs because of the new company, everyone looks miserable and all the good souls who work here are all starting to disappear (the nursing director, the risk manager, the hr guy, the activities girl, the administrator, the whole restorative team, and so many good nurses). It can’t be a coincidence that the same people who made this place wonderful are no longer here. I can’t blame them, I can’t even imagine. I met their corporate HR lady once and she was incredibly rude to one of the cnas right in front of me! If this is how corporate is, no wonder! They have no restorative girls either! They just stopped providing restorative care all together. My uncle is all cramped up and said he gets no care. They keep saying cnas are doing it, but they aren’t. They just write it and say they do, but if it was done, he wouldn’t be cramped up. My uncle has been at this facility for years now and honestly, there is a night and day difference from when he first came. The staff don’t pick up calls after hours. Last week, I got frustrated and came at night to check and could not find one person to help me. Not one person! What if an emergency happened? ! What if my uncle fell down? ! For over an hour, not one person to be found. When I finally found someone they said they don’t have enough people at night, so there’s nothing they can do because of the new company. Same thing with maintenance, a week ago, my uncle called panicking because the building was flooding. There was water flooding in from the walls and the sockets… I’m pretty sure that’s a fire hazard and someone could get electrocuted. Then I overheard someone talking about they can’t call someone because bills weren’t paid. WhT are they going out of business? Is the place closing down? We should be informed if that’s the case! Don’t send your loved ones here, find them a new home! The writing is on the walls!

I had a very good experience with Margate Health and Rehabilitation Center. My sister has been there for a week and I am very satisfied with her care. Her nurse was Ms. Novelette whom I saw took very good care of my sister and knows how to handle and treat my sister with her multiple illnesses. Her aid, Ms. Christine, was also very kind as well as the Nurse Manager. The social worker was very kind and went out of her way to call me to let me talk to my sister because she's always asking for me. I really appreciated this because I really love my sister but I'm not able to stay with her always because I have to work. Therefore her TLC means alot to me. Thankyou so much MHR!

I call and they never answer the phone. I live in n.c and try to talk to my mom for 2 days. She is blind and can not see the phone.
So is not waybfor answer the phone and no body is able to help.
I guess no nurse can hear the ring.
If you have the ability to take care of you mother doit.

I visited Margate Health/Rehab/SNF 3/07/23. The staff that I met were very pleasant, kind and helpful, in helping me finding my way around. The environment was very clean and well kept. Keep up your excellent work MH&RSNF.

After your hospital stay if you need rehab this is the place to be clean and friendly staff. If you need nursing for your love one this is the place to be

The entire staff has been transparent regarding the care plan and they made their presentation professionally
They have communicated with me regarding his activities and some difficulties that need to addressed regarding my dad’s physical and cognitive issues
Environment is always clean and I’m always greeted by name with a smile
They treat my dad like it’s their family

So far, my Dads stay here in long term hasn’t been all that bad. The people seem pleasant but it gets like a ghost town after 6pm. However, I’m having a horrible time getting anyone to return my phone calls. Which is upsetting.

My uncle Glenford Young in room 127A was a resident there and passed away with Hospice crisis care today. We the family was very happy with his outstanding care. The entire staff was very caring. Thanks to you all for all that you do. Much love
