No privacy on balcony! Rooms were dirty. 10+ kids on pool horseplaying and breaking alot of rules. Didn't even swim comfortably. The building is falling apart. Dirty rooms. On top of paying almost 300 for a day. They still charge 27 fee just for being there. Do not recommend. Any other place in Florida is better than this place. Oh a service was not ok

Not quite Marriott quality

We recently stayed at this hotel in the summer of 2021 and were immediately disappointed at the state of maintenance and upkeep of this property. Before I light up on the property and what I think the problem is, I would like to first point out that the employees who we met were awesome. Every single staff member was helpful, friendly, and just plain nice. These folks are the only reason to ever come back.

Also good:
- the private beach is very nice
- the location is excellent
- the golf looked good, but we did not play

Now, the list of problems:
- toilet flush handle broke on the first use, snapped inside the tank. The maintenance person was there in one minute and fixed it while we were out. They left the broken handle on the vanity next to the sink and black grease all over the place.
- the main gym AC was broken for the entire time we were there, 5 days. I got a good sweat, but aren’t hotels supposed to have contracts for things like this. I asked a manager about it on day 3 and she said ‘there are looking at it as we speak’. The AC was still broken for the next two days and is probably still broken now. I am quite sure that manager was full of it. Hotels work around things like this and could have brought in portable AC units and should not resort to telling guests to go a mile down the road to another gym. Simple $300 workaround for when the HVAC contractor can’t help for a week.
- power outlets in the bathroom do not work. We found this to be true for ALL of the rooms our group had. There is also no night light in the bathroom. To leave a bit of light on you have to leave the tub/toilet room light and fan on. That fan sounds like a helicopter landing, but it’s the only way to get light in the bathroom at night. We would move a lamp, but the outlet doesn’t work.
- the maid service NEVER came. You ask the front desk and they say the maid is supposed to come. You ask the maid and they say they only come when asked. So one of our group never had maid service and we had it twice, on demand only. The front desk either has no idea (all week) or is also full of it.
- the patio doors are like opening ancient tombs. They squeak something awful and are difficult to open. A can of silicon spray would do wonders and also help with the rust.
- the pool is too small for on-season crowds. We were there in the middle of summer when the place was half empty and it was getting crowded

I believe that the management of this hotel is both incompetent and broke. I have no doubt that due to the pandemic, funds are tight. But a strong manager could do better than lie and give up on workarounds and simple maintenance. This hotel is falling apart, you can plainly see the cheap fixes in the very old and dirty bathrooms, rust, and flaking paint everywhere. If someone from Marriott got through this entire review, congratz, but please don’t bother responding. Forward it up to the incompetent management who deserve it. My recommendation is to start finding those great staff members good jobs in other hotels. This hotel should be out of business and I hate to see those people out or work when they are so very good.

Sweet! Nice pool good ppl waiting. And beach access a quick drive as well as a fishing area within walking distance

This is a 3 star hotel, not Marriott quality. Breakfast, rooms, etc were below expected. Location is good.

I've been here a good couple times with a lot of friends. Their pool and hot tub, love it. It also has a gym which I love and they bring you to the beach, another fantastic feature.

Wow, this place is beautiful! I'm with my hubby, he's a contractor doing work.all top of the line! The entire facility is beautiful, like the catalog says! The stairway is wild, the place has great views, a great beach, great restaurants. It's secure as possible! Friendly people, friendly staff. Definitely would recommend it to anyone that has the time.

It had a musty smell as soon as you walk in. The rooms and whole place is so outdated. The rooms were fairly clean but the balcony was nasty. They have a place to eat but you get very little and very basic food for 5 times what it should cost. We are very Marriott loyal and this was just such a disappointment. We cancelled our second night while trying to enjoy our anniversary. Very inconvenient. We expected way better for a $400 night at a Marriott.

This hotel needs a MAJOR overhaul. The exterior of the building is in dire need of a facelift. Even the pool water is cloudy and dirty. The pictures on their website is NOT of this hotel! How can a hotel chain like the Marriott get away with lying and false advertising. The only good thing is the bartending services closest to the water. It is not a tiki bar like they claim but Cheryl, the bartender, can make one hell of a planters punch and was friendly and very interesting to talk to

It's a beautiful place but unfortunately it seems like some of the amenities are starting to look a bit worn out. There's a bar in the pool area, a peer and a beach super close by which was great!

Food is over priced and not worth the money, rooms are not great. Won't be returning. For the price, you can most definitely find a better resort.

BE AWARE! The hotel rooms are not as pictures on website. They gave muphy full sixe bed in our room even after booking for king bed. Unclean filthy bed and flooring. Old furniture and decor. The updated the lobby and nothing else. They pictures on website are for different property and it’s not on oceanside like described. They are deceiving people to get them to come to a 4 star with nice photos not of that location. It should have a 2 star. Overpriced. Rude front desk man to us and multiple customers at checkin. Only things that saved the day was a bar with vodka.

So Saturday, June 19 my wife and i came to this hotel to spend my birthday/Father’s Day celebration 4 star hotel upon checking in to our $400 a night hotel we took showers and came downstairs to the latitudes restaurant Upon exiting The building And walking to the poolside restaurant my wife gets greeted in the pathway by a snake that bit her in her ankle she screamed we told the bartender by the pool about it ordered our food and told the front desk clerk about it which she showed some concern and asked us if we needed help and snapped a picture of my wife’s leg I guess this is a normal occurrence here because after I came down to check the security cameras to find out if I can prove what happened, there was no security cameras at the building it is outdated I did not expect this to happen and it could’ve been worse and been a copperhead poisonous snake but it wound up being a red rat
Snake so I feel that after the clerk apologized and the manager called the next morning and left a message asking if my wife was OK I still feel that they’ve could’ve done more we were not offered a comped meal we were not comped it an extra night or a future stay or a future meal nothing simply sorry
Nothing else THE SNAKE BITE MOTEL. The same manager that reached out to my wife answering machine did call me the next day and I told her I felt it wasn’t handled correctly and gave a pause and opportunity two again make it correct because me being the customer felt that it was not handled correctly and she went ahead and just said the clerk did not offer you medical she did not tell you that they could take care of so on and so forth no there was no incident report written just the picture on the way into the elevator and I told her that I didn’t expect this from a $400 a night hotel maybe a $40 a night hotel things could happen and unfortunately we got lucky with the snakebite hotel so if corporate office is reading this I have stayed in this hotel in the past 10 years several times with my work with my parents with my wife for different celebrations and patronized both their restaurants and even went fishing from a charter that we got right out in the marina but I think the corporate office should maybe get involved a little more in this resort and teach their employees how to take care of their customers and how to put out fires do not recommend staying here anymore Way overpriced and a great view of the parking lot for $400 plus resort fees even when I was checking out I gave the clerk the opportunity to go over my bill with me and told him that I was unhappy with the situation that happened and again all they have to say is sorry about that hope Marriott reaches out So other people can see this taken care of

I have nothing but amazing things to say about the bartenders and front desk everyone else was mediocre, I want to personally thank Jolanda and shaniqua at the front desk for answering our questions and always being super helpful, all the bartenders at the main resort and sand piper resort Aaron, Giovanni, Jeud, Kyle, Cheryl yall were absolutely phenomenal and made our whole stay there I appreciate it, Craig you were our bartender for my best friends wedding and were super friendly, easy to speak to and all around great to be around I truly thank you! And last but not least my friend Jason who helped the bride to be when she was stranded outside her room for 2 hours he went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable and always made sure we were good and taken care of everytime he saw us! I truly appreciate all the staff who made us feel welcome and made the bride and groom comfortable thank you!

Very nice location but the rooms and common areas are due for renovation. Executive golf course next door is very nice and great rates for hotel guests. Eat early because hotel bar and restaurants close early.

Hmm.definitely does not look like the pictures, bathroom, rooms, etc need to be renovated. Said ocean look out room, king size bed well we got a pool view and to me looks like 2 twin beds, not impressed at all.

Be Aware!
This was supposed to be a four-star hotel. We walked into our hotel room it was supposed to be a king size ocean front, it was a Murphy bed no ocean front. The hotel is rundown and needs tons of repairs everything is from 1980s. Don’t be deceived the pictures on the website or not the hotel. The rooms on the website are not the hotel.please spend your money somewhere else you’ll be greatly disappointed when you get there and it’s not even on the ocean. The only thing that saved us a rundown hotel was they served vodka at the bar.
