Matheson Hammock Park & Marina, Coral Gables FL

Lunch your boat at the beautiful marina with one of the best boat ramps in the city. Awesome kite boarding and kayaking spot. Also, a restaurant with great food and service located inside the park.

This is a park with a lot of possibilities have great location beautiful areas even a restaurant and a little beach.but need urgently tender loving care.the first thing you see is a truck parking next to the access little house even damaging the mangroves that are highly protected belongs to personal working inside that access little house. I mean you wouldn't imagine having the same personal that work for park damaging a protected species? We need more areas like this ones but we need to provide ourselves with the best practices taken care of our natural resources and at the same time providing our citizens a great opportunity to enjoy our natural areas.

Overhyped. The only things I liked about this place was that it was quiet with very few people and the drive to the park. It was such a small park there was basically nothing to do. Parking was easy to find, so that was good.

Other than that, it was a disgusting man-made beach, with the backshore full of palm tree debriefs and roots. The water was muddy and stinky. When I went deeper into the water, my feet were caught in the mud. Also, the water was so salty that it stung my eyes and I couldn't see for a bit. I couldn't be in it for more than 10 minutes. I left right away. #sewagewater

If you're into clean water and sand just go Miami South Beach. 100% so much better. Matheson Hammock only looks good in pictures but sucks in real life. Skip out on this park, you'll thank me later.

It was a very calm and quiet park! We got there at 5pm and they closed the beach swimming part! Although this beach is surrounded with sand in a circle and the water in the middle of the circle was safe without any lifeguard to get in and out but they closed it after lifeguard left! Water was very dirty and green algae in the water with bad smell! But the environment and green trees, vegetation and Ocean view were amazing, you could see Miami shore from there!

Unbelievable! This place became the worst place to visit. It’s a huge pond of dirty, stinky, slippery, and dark water. I have no idea how people get in and touch the water. I spoke with a city agent in regards to the poor conditions on-site, who told me that the water has had no circulation for a long time and that there are plans of installing pipes to make it move. They should warn visitors for sure. If you care about your kids and health crossed out this place from your list.

It's a real nice location to visit. All my years living in south FL, I recently came to discover this location. Highly would recommend to visit.

I love this park, it has it all. The trail, the beach, the marina, watersports, restaurant, sitting areas and much more. I enjoy going working out by the beach. I also enjoy walking on the trail, when is not flooded because of the high tide. There is plenty parking spaces although it can get very crowded on weekends.

Loved this place as a kid. Unfortunately the swimming leaves much to be desired. The entire area needs to be redone and allow more fresh sea water to come in and out.

Hi.it is a great place to go. There is some remodeling going. But I heard Red Fish Grill is good. Haven't tried yet. I'll check it out yet. The garden is awesome. Good for the kids too.

Mixed feelings about this place. I love that it is very low key, quite, great family place, nearby parking.
But there only 1 restaurant and it is quite pricey $$$$
Also, my biggest issue is that the man-made swimming area is very muddy. The mud looks like nasty poop and it floats on the water.

If you're looking for a nice beach ️ save yourself some time and don't go there, it's a tiny Man made beach not worth anybody's time.

Perfect spot to family and to avoid crowds. Rent paddle boards and kayak too. Red Fish restaurant it’s pricey but good, that also have a food truck outside with economic prices and tasty boll and grill chicken. I gave it 4 stars because they close the water too early (5PM)

Beautiful Sunrise experience. Plenty of people walking around, biking and getting their daily exercise. Alot of picture takers as well.
