5Lived here for almost two years. Quality construction. Excellent community. Lots of social activities.
I was the stormwater inspector for this site, and just wanted to take the opportunity to say what a pleasure it has been working with the site superintendent, Wade Giesler. He made himself available anytime I’ve ever had any questions or inquires, he has always honored his word if he ever said he would get something done, and is just an all around diligent leader. When Wade learned I had started my own NPDES/SWPPP compliance company, he was kind enough to write me a recommendation letter.
We like our new home. We have great neighbors.
But the great surprise for us - family with teen kids - it's not a kids friendly community, and teens have nothing to do here and must be supervised by parents in any common facilities.
Community runs as 55+, and we met resistance when we tried to propose adjustment to the community rules to get kids some space to be active and play sports.
We even had a petition signed by 54 members of the community. But it didn't make much difference.
There is nothing for kids to do at all.
Also, there are a few people in the community who are constantly writing anonymous complaints about kids.
I hope that with the new HOA board, things will change, and the community becomes more welcoming for kids and young families.

We closed in Sunrise Preserve 2 months ago. Our home is just beautiful, well built and we were well cared for every step of the way by the Mattamy sales people and especially Wade Geissler- our fabulous builder! We love the community in general, the activity center offerings, the neighbors we've met, the fabulous location, and all things Sarasota! Being in the Real estate business for over 30 years (RE Agent and NYC RE Attorney), our expectations were high - so we are delighted that we chose the right builder and community! Happy to be an Owner in Sunrise!
