Melbourne Biergarten

After reading the reviews I was looking forward to a great meal. It was awful, 2 of 3 of us ended up sick. My sausage platter was under cooked most were pink in the middle. I thought maybe this was the way it should be till I ate one of them and realized it was cold. The burger had no seasoning. The beer was good though.

They will blame doordash and I do know doordash drops the ball.

But literally not communicating when you dont have an item, to find maybe a substitute is poor communication. I have had restaurants reach out to find alternatives via doordash in the past.

Waited 45 minutes for my mediocre food. Bartender was making my girlfriend uncomfortable. Overall all negative experience. Manager was snotty and in a horrible mood.

Understaffed

Who gets the treat to be served by Charles Dickens on Christmas Eve? ! We did! He goes by Chip, is one of the most interesting people we’ve ever met. We were having the Christmas blues but Annie and Chip made our day delightful. My husband LOVES German beer (he got a fabulous flight of beers) and food… he says that it’s the best German restaurants he’s ever been to in the USA. I thought I would not enjoy it because I’m I don’t eat meat or drink beer, but I loved my food and time here. It’s a destination place…really!

Food was excellent, service was pretty bad, being that our server was her first day on the job and it was October Fest. That being said, it was still a great meal.

My husband and I were at BierGarten on a Monday for dinner and to watch Open Mic. There was a sign for a meatloaf special at 8.99.our server said she didn't know anything about that so not wanting to push it, we ordered pork schnitzel got nearly double the price. Later we again saw the sign about the special and asked her about it She admitted that management tells them to say the special isn't available so people will order more expensive items. We definitely won't be back. The food was nothing to brag about anyway. The pork was very tough and overdone.

I ordered a Jagerschintzel for take out. What I received was 2 breaded pork chops with a side of mushroom gravy and spaetzle. Now one might think this sounds great until the gravy turns out to be mushroom soup and not the appropriate brown gravy associated with Jagerschintzel and the spaetzle was clumpy and excessively starchy. So disappointed, I won't be returning.

Been to the Biergarten a few times now and each time has been excellent. The drinks are great and the bartender Kaitlin is awesome! Kind, friendly and makes a great drink! The baked Brie is excellent, looking forward to trying more of the food and drinks next time!

Out of saurbraten on a Saturday night. Totally unacceptable. Meatloaf not good. Potato pancakes were very good. Applestrudl was cold. Won't be back.

Such a nostalgic place. The food was delicious and large portions. Would recommend to anyone. You can even throw axes afterwards.

Our server Aubrey was welcoming and enthusiastic. Our 3 sauerbraten and 1 schnitzel were awful. Each was dry and tough. Spetzel was bland. No one finished their meal. Very disappointed, not true German food.

I was looking for a family friendly place to eat and stumbled on this place. This place puts garden in biergarten. Kids were running, crawling and climbing all over the place. The games at each table almost give parents a date. The food is great too. I'm so glad we stumbled on this place.

Been here a few times and it's always been fine except for last night the service was one of the worst we've seen. Only reason I'm giving a mediocre star was cuz food has always been good and I dont like to give 1 stars.

We had a birthday party with a table of 9, and I understand if food comes out slow but the waitress just forgot to check on us every step of the way. (There was maybe two other table at that time)

We had to go get up to find them each step for ordering, paying, refilling, etc. Food came out and were placed in front of the wrong people. And they kept forgetting about us even until the end.

We had to get up twice to ask for the bill, then after we put our cards down we had to get up to ask them collect the bill. And after collecting the bill another 15 minutes went by and we had to get up TWICE to ask for our cards back! That whole paying process probably took us 30 minutes honestly, I don't understand why.

Amazing Food! Beer was great too. Met the owner, Chip, who could not have been nicer. Really nice restaurant/bar. The schnitzel was AMAZING!

Mediocre at best. Tastes like someone who has never eaten authentic German food came up with the recipes. I’ve never seen such a small schnitzel! The beer seemed flat and the bratwurst was extremely overcooked. Staff was very nice but we won’t go back. Very disappointing.

Great atmosphere! Love the chicken schnitzel and potato pancakes. There's even entertainment on Tuesday nights from 6-8p.m. A Magician who comes to the table to engage people in the show! Kids will love it. It's fun! Jenga on picnic tables out in the hallway. Fun for the family.

Worst experience ever! Waitress wasn’t knowledgeable at all of the menu. Our sons burger was raw, which they comped and the manager was god awful. The food is definitely NOT GERMAN and lacks any flavor. Nothing was good, sorry to say. Maybe if you’re drunk and hungry or possibly use to no flavor.

What a horrible experience! Stay far away from this place. This is not only the worst German restaurant I’ve been to but quite possibly one of the worst places for food that I’ve been to.

The Mashed potatoes where off and had a strange aftertaste. After informing the waitress she basically shrugged. The meat for the zigeuner schnitzel also tasted off, dry and came with just a few sliced peppers. For the prices they charge the food should be at least somewhat edible and that wasn’t the case. Please save yourself the trouble, money and go somewhere else! 0 Stars

Music was to loud. Receptionist did not acknowledge arrival until we settled ourselves, waited 10 minutes for a glass of wine while others were served at another table. Ordered a German favorite meat dish and was a disappointment from what I've had many times in Germany. Server was very inexperienced. Had to be served by another server whom was great. Not just saying these things to be mean spirited but they actually happen and strongly effect subsequent visits.

Would never visit this place again. 3 hrs 0 refills on anything we had to go and get our own water soda and beer. Food was okay at best. However she took half the tables order said she would be right back 30 minutes later brought the food for half of the table. Never took 4 of our order. We through 300.00 away. So so disappointing oh yeah where was the waitress out side talking. Ask the hostess for a refill on a soda she says no I'm not aloud.
