My Dad was there a couple of times for rehab after falls. They are short staffed as most of the care facilities, but the staff they have works very hard. The only complaints I had was that it took too long to respond to a patient’s call for assistance, and my Dad was served food he was not allowed to eat. However, I had a meeting with the people in charge and got positive results. Please communicate any issues you may have, and visit often at any facility that is caring for your loved one.

My 89 year old mother came to our home in Palm Bay from Washington state to try to stay for the first time for the winter. Within the first 2 weeks she tripped and broke her hip. After surgery and 3 days in the hospital I received a call that she'd been released and where was she being rehabbed? 4: 30 pm and Noone had mentioned a released date let alone what we would need to do or where to go. A wonderful lady in billing called ahead and set up an appointment for me to meet and get a tour of Melbourne terrace in the next 15 minutes before the office closed at 5. Within 15 minutes she had a room and was transported. She was so scared and had no idea where she was, but the staff was so very calm and caring. She was there for 5 weeks with wonderful doctors, nurses and visiting angels. The food was wonderful, PT incredible and 5 1/2 months later she's back in her own home.
She walks with a cane, no wheelchair or walker, and was on her knees planting bulbs in May.
Melbourne Terrace Rehabilitation got my mother back on her feet and made it possible for her to have a quality of life that we weren't sure was possible. I will forever be grateful to each and every member of the staff. You were a blessing and gave me my mother back!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Sincerely, Rachel

I'm writing this based on three years of experience with Melbourne Terrace Rehab beginning in 2020.
My wife has had seven intermediate length rehab stays during this period of time to deal with recovery from major medical issues, aggregating to about 10-12 months total. She's also gone back for cycles of outpatient therapy. For more than a year my mother has been living there as a long term care resident. My observations are based on hundreds of days and scores of overnight stays at their rooms and at their bedsides. We have first hand family experience with other SNF rehab and LTC both in the Melbourne FL area and in upstate NY as a basis of comparison.

I'll start with my conclusion - Melbourne Terrace is the *only* place I entrust with the care of my loved ones.

At the leadership level, facility administrators, nursing directors, therapy directors, admissions and financial staff have all been great to work with. As a family member and advocate for my wife and mother, I have been welcomed as a part of the care team. It's always collaborative, which is extremely important to me. When I've had objective concerns or rare complaints, they've listened with an open mind and to the extent possible have addressed those concerns. At times they've responded with solutions above and beyond my hopes or expectations. I've never encountered indifference or an unwillingness to listen, understand and address our needs.

The core professional nursing and therapy staff are excellent. Most consistently exhibit extraordinary compassion and commitment to their patients in addition to their professional competence.
The CNA nursing assistants do a good job of keeping up with the endless and thankless tasks of attending to patient's personal care needs. When there have been occasional and sometimes frustrating delays in waiting for something, it's only because staff are giving another patient the care they need in the moment. The reality is that they can't be in 5 places at once. They do a good job of prioritization. Everyone I've observed works very hard for the patients under their care.

Physicians appear to be on site daily making rounds and are always accessible to the facility nurses by phone. We have had occasional situations that required quick physician/nursing interaction and the response has been consistently very good.

The physical facility is very bright and attractive. It's well maintained and very clean. The housekeeping staff is excellent.

With all of the above being true and said, the reality is that skilled nursing facilities like Melbourne Terrace concurrently care for hundreds of high need patients and residents. There are times when the number of bells ringing exceeds the reach of staff at that moment. In those times of waiting it can be disconcerting for patients or family members.
But most of us understand that the dedicated staff are working flat out to meet the needs of everyone under their care. They have my respect and admiration on both the good days and the imperfect days.

Melbourne Terrace is a good place, with good people and strong core values. As I said, it's the only place I entrust with the care of my loved ones.

Final thought - I didn't name names of extraordinary people there because there are so many to mention and I'd likely inadvertently leave out some great people. But they know who they are. If anyone goes there you can recognize them by the heart they wear on their sleeve.

It is hard to put into words the incredibly unexpected positive experience our family had while my mom was a patient in Melbourne Terrace. She is 91 years old, and over the years has spent a significant amount of time in rehab facilities throughout our community. In addition to that, I worked in the healthcare field for over 30 years in a variety of different Administrative roles so I am writing this not only from a personal perspective, but from a professional perspective as well.
From the first day that my mom arrived, she was treated with the utmost respect and compassion that we have ever experienced. Each staff member that we have encountered has gone above and beyond what I am sure is required of them. The feeling of joy is palpable from the moment you walk through the doors, and each and every person has been an absolute joy. If I leave a voicemail for a staff member, I normally get a call back within a few hours. This has been so comforting and has not been the experience we have had during her other rehab stays.
My mom’s older sister passed away while she was there, and from the moment someone saw her crying and knew something was wrong, they surrounded her with hugs, comfort, and genuine compassion. For the rest of the evening, they stopped in just to check on her and see how she was doing. The gratitude that my family feels in knowing that she was being comforted emotionally until we could get there to be with her is something we will never forget.
The most significant thing that occurred while she was there has brought peace not only to her, but to my entire family. She has always been so fearful of having to spend whatever remaining time she has left in a facility such as Melbourne Terrace. Not only does she not feel afraid of this anymore, but she told me that she is going to miss her caregivers as they have become like “family’” to her.
I have been caring for my mom for almost 18 years since my father passed away and can honestly say from the bottom of my heart, that this is the most peace she has felt in her soul in all those years. Her fear is now dissipated, which is going to allow her to enjoy whatever time she has left with peace in her soul.
God Bless the leadership at this facility that fosters such an amazing environment of joy, peace and serenity during what can be a very difficult and challenging times for families. I worked for Vitas and understood the hospice piece of the aging puzzle, but wow, what a different perspective I have now of this level of care. It is humbling to know that such caring staff exist in an environment that can be so demanding and difficult at times.
To all the staff at Melbourne Terrace, we thank you for this gift of peace to my family, but most importantly to my precious mom who can now age in peace without any fear. That is priceless, cherished, and will never be forgotten!

Terrible experience my family’s friend past away here. When they found her she had severe bed sores and she was left unattended for over 45mins. When found she passed away from a stroke. I think they need more staffing there. It’s really sad to think we trust a facility with loved ones and this is how they neglected them.

This facility is head and shoulders above the rest. I’ve had the unfortunate opportunity to be very familiar with SNF’s due to a family member’s accident. This puts the others to shame. They do it right. The residents are cherished, respected and encouraged. The faculty is caring and attentive to every detail. The management and Director of this facility is unmatched. What a quality, inviting, well run facility! I can’t say how thankful to have found this place!

When it comes to choosing a rehab for a relative, no facility in this area compares to Melbourne Terrace. The administrator stayed after hours to personally greet my family member upon his admission and make sure he was situated and comfortable. The therapy team is unparalleled; each therapist worked with was kind, motivating, and was able to get him up walking again and regain strength. As someone who has worked in senior living facilities, Melbourne terrace is the only place I trust and recommend time and time again!

DO NOT put your family member in this facility. My husband has been there 11 days and I'm taking him out. The housekeeping is horrible, except for the hall floors, that everyone sees. They take forever to answer the call light, if answered at all. You might get therapy twice a week but they'll sure take your blood every chance they can. I believe test are being done just to run up the bill on Medicare and the insurance companies. I'm under more stress with him there than when he was at home.

After checking with my friends in the medical field (RN, Speech Therapist & Physical Therapist) they all said Melbourne Terrance was their first choice for our father to heal and get stronger. He’s getting wonderful care. The administration is truly outstanding too! Special thank you to Julie and Matt!

This is an excellent facility. The nurses, other medical personnel, and the administrators are professional and experienced. Facility is clean and you always see maintenance personnel maintaining the facility.

We're so grateful that my dad was able to come to Melbourne Terrace following his hospital stay. Tina and Julie in admissions were so caring and helpful. The CNAs and nursing staff, the occupational and physical therapists, and everyone else we have encountered are all, without exception, patient, welcoming, and friendly. Communication with all parties is excellent. The facility is clean, the rooms are pleasant and the food is not bad, but the real stars of Melbourne Terrace are the staff.

From all of our family, we want to say thank you to all of the staff and clinicians at Melbourne Terrace. From the exceptional clinical care and timely communications all the way up to the administration and counselors who provided for our father in law in his darkest of days. Knowing the MT team was looking after him provided us some peace and comfort at an extremely difficult time for our family. We will forever be grateful for the entire team- you are truly angels on earth!

This is the best facility I’ve seen An very clean. My wife has been here for several months now An I can’t complain about anything. The staff has went above expectations. They will take great care of your loved ones. I can’t say enough about Melbourne Terrace they are great. An I just wanna let the public know you can trust this facility. I am just updating my review of Melbourne terrace, my wife has been in the facility about 8 months now an I can honestly say they look after your loved one’s even when we the family THINK we no what’s best when we don’t, this facility has taught me how to be more understanding about what is going on with my wife of over 30yrs whom I love dearly, so basically what I’m trying to say is listen to what the nurses are saying to you, I’m the man wanting to look after my wife. But there is a time when you need to sit back An understand what the real facts are, I hope people will take a min to read this An hopefully understand what I’m saying. Please leave a thumbs up if you read this review or please leave a comment. I would like to read what y’all think. Thank You. K. V

My grandfather, H. Mitchell, was a patient at Melbourne Terrace recently. He was in the hospital for a month before discharging there. My grandmother and I were so relieved to get him there because we had heard wonderful things in the community and my best friend’s mother is the Administrator. My grandmother immediately relaxed after a very stressful month knowing he was there. The staff immediately gave him a shower upon his arrival after being in bed at the hospital which made him feel so much better. He didn’t get to stay but a few days. The staff were so attentive that thet identified he had blood clots and sent him back to the hospital for his last couple of weeks. Our family is so grateful to the staff at Melbourne Terrace. Although we no longer have him here, we know that he had the absolute best care and attention as he left this earth. Thank you to the nurses, therapists, admin staff, dietary and to the Director of Nursing, Ashleigh, and Administrator, Tina. Love you, Mama T. Thank you, for always caring about our family. We love you.

My brother who has Parkinson's is in rehab here, He stayed at Anchor rehab before and it was like going from a motel 6 to the Hilton.

UPDATE: Though this place isn't the worst, it's still substandard in care. My brother was left in his bed and never encouraged or helped out of it. He died recently from sepsis, witch shouldn't happen in a nursing home.

My father was admitted there 2 months ago after falling at home. Our family were very worried about my dad and what his future entailed. Luckily, we found Melbourne Terrace. Our experience from the beginning was superb as the team welcomed our entire family, communicating from day one what their plan was to get him back on his feet and playing golf with his buddies again. My dad’s Guardian Angel was always available should we have any questions, transport helped us get to his follow-up appointments and the case management dept.made the transition home smooth. We will always recommend this facility should anyone need rehab. Thank you, Melbourne Terrace! Many blessings to their hard-working dedicated staff.

My mother received care at MTRC. Julie Marpoe was patient and thorough when answering all of our questions. Visiting hours were available 24 hours. Therapies we're consistent and good quality. Matt Johnson, the Assistant Administrator was kind, empathetic, knowledgeable, and responsive. The nurses, CNAs, receptionists, and all of the support staff were friendly, compassionate, and respectful of the patients, families, and visitors.
Thank you for giving all people the dignity and respect they deserve.
