Mellow Mushroom Mount Dora, Mt Dora FL

This used by be our "go-to" locations as one of the premier Mello Mushroom restaurants when we travel. However, this time we noted that the service was sub-par [understandable w/ gov.supplemental funding], food quality seems to have lost its "Wow Factor", and was just a good pizza (meat lover), even the beer pretzels fell short, sadly! The restaurant had severe condensation issue with HVAC duct work which closed down several booths and promoted ponding water on the floor [potential hazard].
Overall visit experience was a let-down, as we drove out of our way to stop here at this Mt. Dora location.
Hopefully, mgmt.can look into these issues and restore this location its former position.

Went here on a whim for lunch on 4th of July. It was absolutely delicious! Full beer, wine and liquor bar. I had assumed it was pizza only but they have a full menu. Everything was absolutely amazing. Great flavors, ingredients, service and reasonable pricing. Will DEFINITELY put this place in regular rotation.

I made my first visit to this restaurant yesterday hoping that it was a fondue type of eatery. I was disappointed. The food tasted interesting, gave me an unexpected response. Without being vulgar, I'll just say that I had to make fast tracks to the restroom within only two hours. Won't try it again.

First time visitors. Delicious food. Friendly prompt service. I reccomend the soup, and salad in addition to the pizza, which every table seems to order

We've been here a couple times, and more times than not we've had a less than desirable visit.

The food is always delicious, but the service isn't great.

Great dining experience! We often stop here to/from the Sanford/Orlando airport, since it's about halfway. Food was excellent (pizza and sub). Nice draft beer selection. Our server was pleasant and helpful. We'll be back.

Ordered appetizers with the drink order, food came before the appetizers! We had to ask for the appetizers. After we ate, we had to wave down the waitress, after waiting to long, to get our bill! Not the type of service we expected, especially on Mother’s Day.

Cool place. First time visiting. Much more than just loaded toppings on the pizza. I got nosy and wandered around looking at what other guests were having, because the menu is lengthy descriptions, it's a great place, ambience, big servings, all great. Next time I'd skip the small and get the large, because leftover pizza is always great for a midnight snack or breakfast or whatever you call that. I'll be back to bother y'all smore.

I’m done ordering pizza from here. I keep giving them more chances because I love Mellow Mushroom pizza but every time I order a cheese pizza from this locations it’s overcooked and has so much sauce coming through the cheese because they don’t use enough cheese. Even when I order extra cheese it is the exact same. I’m consistently disappointed with this location’s pizza.
So if you like overcooked saucy pizza this is the one for you.

Sad, Sad, Nothing spectacular. Food was sub par, service was poor. Waitresses apologized multiple times for the kitchen, not bringing food out the same time, three times etc. Definitely not the experience that I have had at the Winter Park, location.

Sad, duct tape on our table. Food was sub par. Server apologized about everything, but is was a total disappointment. Not the usual experience I have at the Winter Park location.

Very good service! Our server, "Ashley", did an EXCELLENT job for us!

The atmosphere was nice and the interior was clean and pleasing to the eye. The bathroom was in good condition, but they need paper towels instead of blowers, which are commonly known to be unsanitary.

I will say that they need MORE vegan options, including desserts, for which there was none. They do "veganize" any pizza you want with vegan cheese and the removal of anything animal, though. I appreciated that effort.

Oh, and way to go on helping the environment by offering paper straws!

Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to my friends.

I went today and I ordered Caesar salad was excellent very fresh the service was very good and the place very clean and nice environment. Highly recommended.

Update: the manager named Kayla who claims to own Mellow Mushroom berated my family in front of the entire store, kicked us out, and threatened to have us trespassed all over some meatballs. Kayla, if you’re reading this please be so kind to send me the pictures you took of us on the way out, I want to use them on our Christmas card this year:)

A loyal customer bites the dust. After years of enjoying good food and average service at this store, we won't be back. The "hostess" had a bad attitude from the second we walked in and made it her goal to make sure we received a poor dining experience. The service was absolutely pathetic considering they were way overstaffed and only had 7 or 8 tables. Appetizers took well over 30 minutes to come out and entree's came out moments after. The staff had absolutely no leadership and was only interested in socializing with one another. The food was fine but is only half of the dining experience. The service ruined the meal. I was going to speak to the manager but after observing her skills throughout the course of our time here, it was quite clear that nothing would be done to rectify. Will happily drive to Sanford to get my Mellow Mushroom fix.

The pizza was excellent! The seating area had a view toward social distancing and the waiter was attentive and professional. Thanks, Tom!

As a food critic and a loyal customer there service and customer. Service was horrible no greetingno smile just. Strick and non friendly. Couldnt even get anytging to drink

Great pizza, funky decor, periodic entertainment. Mixed drinks (signature style) are a bit pricey.
UPDATE: Ok, today 5-20-21 I have to take off a star (sorry). Still love this place and the server and service were excellent. Food tasted great. But the reason is two-fold.
One, is that the toppings on the pizza were meager and mainly in the mid section of the pizza leaving the outer 1/2 of the circumference plain with a very wide brim of dough. It was as if there was only one topping total.
Two, is non-food related. Tried to use the restroom and luckily checked for TP before I used the toilet. None. Checked the 2nd half of the holder and that side was none. Moved to the next stall and none on either half either. Decided to wait until I got home as it wasn't imperative that I use the facility and didn't have my purse with so no make shift supplies like kleenex. I informed the hostess that they were out and she said she knows, the entire restaurant is out, SORRY.
WHAT! Staff or management knew this and did not put up a sign NOR have someone run out to Publix or Walgreens to supply it for the late lunch or dinner crowd! YIKES. Good thing I didn't have a child with me that needed TP use.
A bit disappointed. Glad I didn't have an emergency need. And speaking from experience dealing with my elderly parents, sadly there are times when you cannot wait until you get home.

They would get five stars if their lunch portions weren't laughable. Great service but lunch hoggie was literally a hoagie cut in half on an empty plate with nothing else. Looked pathetic, tasted like salt and made us sick later. Skip the sad lunch servings order from the real menue.

My family and I went today 1hr before closing and the server Mrs. Chelsea was totally amazing with her customer service she went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and didn't need anything, it was our 1st time and won't be last.

I went in there this evening with 2 of my friends that I hadn’t seen in awhile and wanted to catch up with. We ordered a small buffalo chicken pizza with no bacon and half caramel onions and we requested that they cut it into a heart to show how much love i had for them and it came out great, the cooks names were Tae and Bradley and we asked to speak to a manager an the sweetest lady ever with colored hair named Kayla came out. Overall the experience was just amazing and I will definitely be coming back
