Metro Diner reviews
202nd visit to metro, 1st to this one. Absolutely awesome my favorite. Going back Friday for fish & chips. The waitress was so good and a real sweetheart. But I'm thinking proposing on only my 2nd visit may be a bit brash. Old Joe from Mexico.
Really good breakfast burger and fries. Only disappointing part was the coffee which was only okay, though we did go for a late lunch so maybe it just wasn't fresh. Overall a little bit pricey, but they had good serving sizes and quick attentive service.
Poor Customer service.
It only took you metro diner about a month to reply to this review…
That says everything
I like the food, but I’m 2 for 2 from ordering online and not getting any dressings. Caesar salad, no dressing. Tenders, no ranch, etc. C’mon y’all. Probably take my grab and go business elsewhere to someplace where I don’t have to worry about that stuff. Also, they should perforate the containers with fried items so they stay crispy, like Miller’s Ale House does.
This particular Metro is my favorite, and I am a Metro fan. Outstanding friendly service, menu items that you can't get everywhere (creamed chipped beef on toast), and well-executed meals. It is a pleasure to dine here.
My original preferred location is closed for dinner so next closest is twice the distance but well worth it! Worth the drive. Still great menu and friendly staff! Smoked pastrami sandwich is incredible!
It's a bit pricey, but well worth it. Shrimp and grits was different than I am used to, but it is a great dish nonetheless. Always look forward to going to The Metro Diner to try new things, just to get the shrimp and grits once again.
This place turned me around on the Metro diner chain! After very disappointing experiences at the Metro on Hendricks, I tried this different location and had a great meal! In addition to the dining area not being so cramped and unnervingly noisy, the service was fantastic. Lauryn is the best waitress I've come across in a long time! And there's plenty of parking spaces in front of the diner.
4/20 update: Dropping them 3 stars. Have been back twice since my "happy visit" and the food and service were bad. Last week had to send back terrible creamed chipped beef. It was flavorless gravy on basically raw potatoes strips they called hash browns- hardly any chipped beef.
I tried Metro again today. Angus burger was overcooked and dry- really needed some kind of sauce. Decided Worcestershire sauce would work, but couldn't find waitress. The hash browns (because I mentioned to the waitress about them being raw last visit) were now overcooked. Toast barely toasted and unbuttered. Looked again for the waitress for coffee refill- not to be found. Was waiting tables in other room.
I'm done with The Metro. Obviously I expect too much from them and see most are happy with their food and service, so time to move on.
I want to thank Amanda & the entire Catering team at Metro Diner Baymeadows location for doing an amazing job with our orders last week. Everyone LOVED the fried chicken and all the trimmings that came with.employees were lined up outside our breakroom in anticipation of all the goodness. Amanda showed up early to set up and was a pleasure to work with. THANK YOU Metro Diner Baymeadows for a great Catering Expierence!
Happy Resurrection Day! I had veggie omelet with some toasted bread and grits. It was good and the friendly staff are very helpful. I am looking forward for my next visit.)
Great lil local diner, lots of choices, good service and atmosphere, the chicken and waffles is really good
They have the greatest breakfast in town. They have fast service and good service. The portions are VERY generous. I recommend that you try the chicken and waffles.
The food was GOOD. TOO many employees standing around doing nothing & the business was extremely busy (30 minutes wait). A little annoyed that too much free flying hair around the food.
Not that spectacular. I'd say average at best. Monte Cristo was a let down. I had been craving one something fierce since the days of Bennigans over at Regency. Let's just say I wish I could do the time warp.
We had the chicken potpie and fish and chips. It was very good. Andrew was our waiter he was great.
Great food, great service! Can't go wrong with breakfast or lunch here. Only problem with Metro is the wait, but every location is like that. I'm a breakfast guy, so I almost always go for an omlette.pro tip, get a side of hollandaise.
Amazing! Super Yummy! Staff is great, food is amazing, and it has that nice family owned diner feel though it probably isn't family owned.it is very welcoming
Service is stellar! I hate the wait, but it's usually less time than they say and they are quick to get you in. The wait is particularly bad on Sat and Sun mornings - but always worth it. The food is consistent and delicious. A gem. Always the go-to breakfast place. I love a classic breakfast, so I always go with the Two Egg Breakfast. But the special items I love are the Yo Hala on the Square (stuffed french toast) and the classic Fried Chicken and Waffles. Magnifique!
Long wait which we were told was normal.the food itself plain bland. My wife and I both ordered biscuits and gravy, a safe order. With a pancake to split. The everything was overcooked and the gravy had no flavor to it.
