Metro Diner, St. Petersburg FL

We had a large group and it was a holiday and they handled it very well. Everyone enjoyed the variety the menu had to offer.

We were so lucky to have foubd this jewel. Not enough people have commented on it. Everywhere you go, people sell chicken and waffles, but not all of them taste good. Some are just fried batter with a little bit of chicken. Some sell waffles with no taste. But never have we ever seen chicken and waffles served this way. They give you almost a full chicken with bone in, the most amazing tasting waffles, and the most delicious strawberry butter to top it all off. Don't go to Saint Petersburg without stopping in to Metro Diner. Everything on the menu is great, but the chicken and waffles are the best in all of Florida. So good!

Food was very above average and seating was quick. Unfortunately experience aside from that was disappointing. Took over 45 minutes to receive pancake order and when received was cold receiving meal in portions instead of all together. Environment was chaotic and noisy. Definitely not covid friendly with tables way to close together and no barriers of any kind present between guests. I know emergency restrictions were lifted but sitting parties within less than 3 feet of each other is poor judgement

First i would like to say the service was very good. I had the Fried chicken and it was very good. I also had mashed potatoes as a side but it was served with brown gravy. I would have rather had chicken gravy. I will return and try other menu item's this place lived up to its potential.

Met the employer & co-worker here, first time here but wholly cow the bossman got fried chicken and waffles that consisted of 4 large pieces of fried chicken and about 2 large waffles, my co-worker and I were satisfied with our meals but left us wishing we had ordered the fried chicken and waffles. I will certainly be going back.

Oh my Lord! Effing fantastic! Service was on point, the tea was FRESH and so good I got a cup to-go, and don't get me started on the chicken. Lord have mercy. I wish I'd taken a picture, but it was so delicious I just dove right in. There's a reason this place is known for its chicken and waffles. You will not regret this stop.

Not impressed. Went today for lunch. The waitress came by three times total- once to take my order, once when I stopped her for the check, and once to drop the check off and she walked by. She didnt bring the food and my order wasnt right. The cheeseburger was $10 and change and was not seasoned at all- it was an ordinary, bland burger. The bun tasted stale and the homemade chips were okay. Wouldnt return most likely- wish it had been better based on the reviews.

Food was OK. The Monte Cristo was mostly breading and had no flavor other than old oil. I'm told the Belgian waffle was good. Both Tampa Bay locations are in strip plazas with hardly any parking. Wasn't worth the wait.

Wow. Great food, silly atmosphere and the host who brought me to my table was EXCEPTIONAL. Andrew is awesome.

I also was brought my food by a person named Connor, who was funny and kind.

My waitress was super accomodating and prompt. Thanks to Quatavia

Edit: Gave Metro another try, and it was very pleasant. The service was friendly, and the food was really good. I will be back.

I wish I could tell you how the food is, but after sitting at a table for 10 minutes (no wait and several empty tables) without service, I left and went to Tripp's.

We sat at bartop were you could see the workers do their jobs. The lead cook didn't wear gloves & was touching food (muffins/toast) with his hands. Not a good sign in health inspections.nor me eating my muffin. The food was just so-so for breakfast but the service was good.

Best flipping breakfast food. Had the cinnamon pancakes and stuffed french toast.so delicious. Bit pricey but worth every penny. Friendly staff, clean restaurant, clean bathrooms, technology needs updated if they are using tablets. Poor waitress had to retake our orders becaise the tablet stopped working.

Fantastic breakfast. I had the breakfast sandwich which was huge and super filling. My Mom had the 2 egg breakfast and loved it. Service was really fast and friendly.

Friendly staff. Salad was huge with the best blue cheese dressing ever. Chicken pot pie was stuffed with lean chicken & lots of veggies & potatoes. Homemade crust. I keep coming back

Hands down one of the best meals I have had in St. Pete. Especially breakfast. The veggie omelette had perfectly chopped and cooked veggies including asparagus. Yum. The hashbrowns came golden brown. I didn't even have to ask for them crispy. I had enough to save for another meal. Service from Fairleigh was fast and friendly. She even let me have a waffle for my cat.

Great staff and great food! Really interesting combos: Fried chicken and waffles has a special strawberry butter-Yum! Also, they put hot sauce in maple syrup which makes an amazingly great dip for the fried chicken. So good. Nothing like it in town!

Very nice and clean restaurant. The owner and server Jessie were very nice. I had the Monte Cristo, yes the Monte Cristo, which was on world famous Bennigan’s menu. It was superb! I will definitely be returning “hungry for more” (Anton Ego)

This place is fantastic. It is my go to diner, there isnt a bad item on the menu, and the staff is so friendly.

Great atmosphere, great food standing room only@times all kinds of good food great taste large portions, with take home containers readily provided competitive prices!

This is my favorite breakfast place in the area! They have friendly staff, good food with large portions, and are reasonably priced. What more could you want!
