Miami Beach Housing Authority

Tried to help their client who can't get through to them for months. Impossible to contact. There's only 1 person there, she never answers phones. Their website has no emails or extensions to anyone. All calls go to one person's voicemail. In person everyone there speaks Spanish only. If you don't speak Spanish forget about going there, you will be discriminated. Very long wait and no answers. No other housing authority operates like this.

Very bad. This place needs help. Their hud-vash office is not communicating with the public and from what I observed inside, their sec 8 clients are ignored as well. Very unwelcoming environment. It's like visiting a prison. There's a security guard, metal detector, and a small window with a woman who can't answer any questions. Forget phones, emails, and their weird website. Nothing works.

Don't trust the 5 * reviews. They are posted by employees and their friends. This place is a complete mess. They don't answer phones, refuse to respond to emails and horrible customer service. Someone with some authority needs to do something about this. If the spent as much time dancing around to music and posting fake reviews then they may actually get something done. This will be reported to HUD as waste, so you all should start looking for other jobs.

Is the Sec 8 program only handled by 1 person here? She's may respond to you if you call or email in Spanish 5 times. Non Hispanic clients can forget about any customer service here in person too. People shouldn't be discriminated based on their race and inability to speak Spanish when using federal benefits. No one calls back. All calls just go to the same Olga Squares voicemail. A letter was lost in the mail from them, but you can't confirm if they sent it or not and all questions are by appointment, but you can't set it up because no physical way to communicate. All calls go to one person. Web site is bad too. No parking no direct bus from north part of the city to this locations either. All nearby housing authorities answer phones and are transparent about that they do, except this one. Who is a supervisor here? Nothing is listed. No contacts

Worst government agency! I reported fraud on a secrion 8 individual that lied on a court signed paper and all the proof and more were in front of Miami Beach Housing supervisors the supervisors name is Karen The proof was in front of her face and other employees that had to.take care of this fradulent activity. But the person kept their houshing and continues ro cause havoc where i own an apt and can not live in peace. We contunie to pay taxes to subsidize fradulent individuals while other people in need go without assistance from the government. I will take this matter to a higher entity so that person gets what they deserve for lieing so badly and the people working at Miami Beach Houshing that did not take care of this matter and do their job correctly lose their jobs! Disgusting.

My experience taking my mom to city of miami beach housing has bern great! I would like to acknowledge Amelia for going the extra mile explaining the process as my mom called from waiting list. The apartments are beautiful new and clean in a very safe neighborhood.my mom worked 30 years in new york she never took welfare or food stamps she will be paying a portion of the rent where she was accepted which is a blessing. The wait does take awhile but once they call you the attention is excellent! EVeryone from the security guard to the other people who work in office are professional and very kind to the elderly.

The lady over section 8 is very rude. I called because maybe I received a letter and didn't recieve it. So I ask was I sent a letter her reply was " well if you didn't recieve a letter maybe you not getting one yet" I told her it's been two years her response " no it hasn't it's been one year it's be two in January" well if you consider 22 and a half months one year you need to go back to school to a mathematic class and learn how to round off.

Be mindful that if your a blue card holder it doesn't work here since they have metal detectors.

It's a shame considering location and rent prices on the affordable housing plan that the government does not monitor or check tenants with serious mental problems in my case I had to practically run and move out of there in 24 hours after having lived there four years. The bullying went on for at least 2 yrs until I couldn't take it any longer and moved out in 24 hours she had a knife she pulled my hair scratched and hit the girl that took care of me I called front office for help and they suggested I call police. Really a nightmare had to change my phone she called me constantly to insult me or knock on my door 24 /7 the administration there acted like they couldn't care less I live by myself recently lost my husband and couldn't get out of apt because of this demented woman couldn't even go to trash chute at normal hours always stalking me.
I had three witnesses when this incident happened I had complained before and nothing so don't move there it's a trap
