Miami City Ballet reviews
8 This not a Ballet school anymore.
It looks like a Covid zombies hospital where they harras kids. Child abuse.
No thanks.
Very effective training, you have to invite Sergeï Polunin to Miami, and not do like the Paris Opera
This is not simply one of the most talented companies in the country, from its artistic director Lourdes Lopez, to its corp de ballet, it is recognized Internationally as one of the best ballet companies in the world. (With one of the best ballet schools in the world.) And to confirm what I've just said, recently there was a Balanchine festival at City Center in New York City. Miami City Ballet, founded by Toby Lerner Ansin in 1985, was invited along with the Kirov, the Paris, The Royal Ballet, New York City Ballet, and the San Francisco Ballet. They say you can tell a lot about a person by the company they keep. The same goes for ballet companies. Remember the advertising for Lay's potato chiP? Betcha can't eat one? See one of their performances, and betcha can't stop with one.
Horrible, horrible experience at the Broward Center performance on Sunday afternoon March 1 - frankly shocked that the conductor didn’t halt the performance and raise the house lights! This ridiculous practice of allowing VERY LATE arrivals to continue entering the venue throughout the entire first section (i.e. “Rodeo”) destroyed and marred what could otherwise have been a dazzling experience. People jostling about, talking loudly, cell phones still making noise, annoyingly bright flashlights wielded by ushers in our faces - all these are situations that would be rectified if Latecomers were made to wait until the first intermission. If you have special needs then you should allow EXTRA TIME so you can get yourself situated instead of ruining a performance for scores of other paying attendees.
Miami City Ballet is always wonderful to see. The dancers come from all over. Very diverse. Choreography and set design is amazing. A must see!
Was an amazing perfomance. Very well done, also great building and good parking and coordination.
Just had big issue again with the ticket of the final show of my daughter.terrible customer service terrible attitude on the phone. I paid and never receive my ticket.and they can not find anything.horrible service.and they were happy to tell me that if I don t have tixket in my hand i can not see my daugter dancing for the final show.they treat you like "sh.t". Some of the teachers are good but everything around is a disaster. I will not recommand this school. It was maybe good in the past but now stay away plus there is no parking a nightmare.
I spent $330 for tickets to the Nutcracker and we showed up at the "Miami City Ballet" only to find out that they were actually 2 hours away in West Palm Beach and not in Miami at the "Miami City Ballet. " I looked at the receipt and in the smallest finest print on the receipt it said "Kravis Center. " What a waste and disappointment for everyone, especially our 5 yo.
