Do not move here! The elevators are constantly broken and malfunction! They are not safe. The pool has been closed for months for “repairs” but nothing has been done. It just sits there with a foot of dirty green water festering and the management company could care less.

My time at Modera Skylar has been nothing short of a disaster. The elevator situation has been out of hand for years (look at many of the previous reviews from tenants). From these outdated machines that creak and stop at random floors, to getting stuck and having to pry open the doors and only one of out 3 elevators properly functioning, you can tell the management's apparent indifference to residents' concerns adds insult to injury. Save yourself the misery and steer clear of Modera Skylar.

Been quite disappointed since moving in last year. At first the only issues, which is pretty clear from recent reviews, was the elevators being broken all the time. I think its been like 3 months now with no amenities (besides the gym which also has no leg machines such as extension or press). Outdoor deck is closed which means no access to grills, tables, pool or hot tub as well as outdoor workout equipment. Good luck having people over for a BBQ. Property manager straight up refuses to answer any calls or emails. Tenants are pretty fed up with it, imagine paying 3k+ for no amenities and no reduction to your rent when half the things included in the contract are broken or not available and on top of that not even receiving a response from management.service team is great and front desk people help too but this is just another money hungry conglomerate who doesn't care about their tenants, just their rent.
I'd stay away from here and move to any other building or modera property as their reviews are way better.

This place is the absolute worst! I went to visit friends thinking I may move into a new apt.but its terrible. The elevators are never working! I mean NEVER. There are graffiti signs posted on them and Mgt doesnt even check enough to take them down! These are High Rises.what if there is a fire! Someone should report them to the city! Its criminal! I would never move here. You couldnt PAY me to live here. If I could give zero stars I would. Dont Move here.the pics are a lie. This is a sham!

If you’re thinking about renting an apartment here, DO NOT. For years they have ignored the real issue at hand. Mill Creek refuses to replace the elevators, leaving residents to suffer with only 1 halfway working elevator, rather than 3, for a 21-story building.

Get ready to wait for ten to fifteen minutes to go up or down, since they become crowded with guests and residents. Stay far away.

Elevators never work or only one works at a time. There is no structure in the office and they haven’t had the pool deck open for months. It was green at one point and they never have said a thing about the reopening. I have had so many issues here from them giving multiple people the same parking spot, bugs obviously coming from one of the neighbors or the trash chute, dog piss in the hallways, and the recurring elevator issue. I thought for the price we pay it would be more luxurious but it’s really ghetto here. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone

The elevators in this building are dangerous. There are 3 elevators and always at least 2 out of service. The one that is working misses floors, stops in between floors, stops suddenly, takes forever to open the doors and many people have been trapped in them. Management seems to do nothing to resolve these issues and don’t seem to care too much either. I do not recommend Modera Skylar to anyone.

Horrible building to live in. You can see what everyone complains about… the elevators constantly being out of service. It’s an issue they clearly have no interest in actually resolving. To add insult to injury, the pool has been closed for months with no warning, no work being done and no updates either. Imagine paying for “luxury” and not having a properly working elevator and half of the amenities.

Only one elevator working for over a year and is not working at full capacity so be prepared to wait 30 minutes to use the elevator

Since moving in, the experience has been incredibly disappointing. The elevators have not worked at all, causing major inconvenience, especially as I have a rescue dog that requires frequent trips outside. Similarly, the pool deck has been closed the entire time, eliminating a key amenity I looked forward to enjoying. The lack of action and communication from management on these issues is unacceptable. Residents deserve better!

I regret getting into this building too much and I've been living here for 4 months and it's HELL! The elevators don't work, you have to go up 21 floors and go down! The common areas do not work, the pool does not work and the areas have been closed for 4 months, there is no security personnel in the building, there are no cameras in the elevators, they do not keep the elevators or the hallways on all floors clean! It's disgusting to live here apart from how expensive everything they ask of you to live here is and they don't even give 10%! THIS BUILDING IS A CANCER

We moved here because of the location, the amenities and the great on site staff experience we had. Unfortunately I feel as if that is all wiped away from the stress of the elevators. We pay extra to live on a top floor, something my husband and I were so excited to do and it has now become the biggest burden. 3 elevators and there have been more than a handful of times in the 3 months I’ve lived here where my husband and I get home and have to walk up 20 flights of stairs just to get into our apartment. Walk down another 20 flights to let our dog use the bathroom and then back up again carrying our dog because our frenchie cannot make it up all 20 flights. We are fearful coming home from the grocery store with more than we can carry because if we get home with Costco groceries how will be be able to bring them up if the elevators stop. It’s been an unfair amount of stress on us and I’m sure on everyone who lives here. This goes above onsite management and I do not blame them. But unless they want to reduce our rent to compensate for the inconvenience I really don’t see a fix other than having these elevators replaced. They are dangerous, have not been approved by the fire dept inspection since last July because they won’t pass inspection. They jump floors, people have been stuck. The fire dept comes more than once a month at a min to get people out or close them all together for safety. We have had one elevator working for the last week and the elevators are so full you can’t get to your apartment without waiting for 30 min at high traffic hours. This has been the worst it’s ever been according to residents I’ve spoken to who have lived on site for more than 1 year. Something needs to be done. I genuinely can’t recommend this building to anyone until these are fixed. Forget the amenities being closed - the pool is not a necessity but the ability to get in and out of your home is.

Entire pool deck has been closed for over two months with no news on when it will open, construction hasn't even started. Elevators always breaking down but thats nothing new.some lady lets her dog piss all over the building/elevator, use the cameras and fine her every time its not fair to everyone else. Good luck getting a response after you move in if you have issues. Service/repair team is great so they get one star for that

We had an agreement to lease an apartment on Saturday.
Monday morning we call to follow up on our apartment, our apartment was taken. Incredible.

The elevator situation is beyond ridiculous. They lie through their teeth to new tenants and do not make them aware of the issues at hand. Elevators constantly break down at least 3-4 times a month. Also, the pool has been shut down for a month and no warning was given. There has not been a single day of an employee actually doing any work on it. When we first moved in, they never informed us that the service elevator was out of order. We found out the day of. If our stuff hadn’t fit in the regular elevator, what were we supposed to do? Rent a storage space? Not move in? Get rid of furniture? Every employee of Modera Skylar and the higher ups at Mill Creek should not manage this property nor work in any property due to their incompetence and negligence as well as carelessness for their residents. Look at all the reviews before making the same mistake we did when we moved in. For years elevators have always broken down and they “fix them” but are never replaced which is what needs to happen. Their excuse? It’s not in the budget. Even though the building is full and they’re charging an additional $800 or more per apartment for rent now.their response to this issue? If you don’t like it you can always break the lease. Look at all the responses from management, copy and paste answers that never truly address the issues at hand. Counting down the days until my lease is over so I never have to live in this horrible and unsafe building with elevators that constantly break down and when they work, they creak and rattle. If you were to see the amount of emails they send regarding the broken elevators and how they’re “working on them” you would laugh in disbelief

Terrible elevator situation. They’re constantly having to fix these elevators that are probably 20 years old and break down weekly. We’re now again down to one elevator, waiting 10-16 minutes to go up and or down. There’s never a true solution, which is to actually replace them. Do not waste your time and consider living here. Something so simple and basic, but they can’t be bothered to finally fix.

The elevators in this building are dangerous! The company keeps putting a bandage on a very serious problem! Myself and other residents clearly expressed that we fear for our lives and our safety when riding these elevators and the company doesn’t care! Elevator 1 was hanging by one nail and cable (true story) and hasn’t been in service for months. We are down to one working elevator for 21 floors. The one that is currently working shakes, rattles, skips floors, and slams on the ceiling once it reaches the top floor then shakes and slowly goes down to the 1st floor. GREEDY COMPANY.

The amenities are very average compared to other apartment complexes we've been to in the area. The elevator issue is terrible in our building. Another common problem is cockroaches. Much too often there's dog poop in the outside areas and pee in the stairway. However, the staff is really friendly.

It’s crazy to think that I’ve gotten stuck almost every day for the last couple of months since I’ve been here.
Within a month alone, I get stuck about 2-3 times a day.

I have also fallen only once about 2 floors down, and had to force the door open to get out.

There are so many things that I’m not even going to begin, to go into detail about for reasons I can’t cover here.

All I’m going to say is that if you are considering moving here… You have been warned.

Though a positive; maintenance has always been great. Timely and always going above and beyond whenever I’ve put in a work order!
