Korean Restaurant Momoyaki reviews
39Momoyaki is one of those places that we like to go to when we can't really think of anything specific that we'd like to eat. I usually order the Bibimbap and never regret it.
My favorite restaurant in Gainesville! The staff is super nice and the Stone Pot Bibimbap with Beef tastes incredible! 10/10
Sat down and didn’t get waited on for 30 minutes. Finally our drink order was taken and then our food order. 5 mins later our inattentive waiter came back to tell us sushi wasn’t available because the fish shipment had just come in. Mind you there was only us and one other couple in the entire place. Ended up leaving and still made us pay for our almost untouched drinks.first and last time there.
Always delicious. Absolutely love the hot pot.
You can't go wrong and the prices are reasonable especially if you keep an eye on the daily specials
Don't be put off by the ugly parking lot, this place makes excellent food and has great service. Will definitely come back the next time I'm in Gainesville.
Momoyaki has so much unfounded potential in its specific Korean-American fare that its a disappointment that it doesn't try to strive for more. From the much to be desired interior decor and lackluster patio area and views, the food was seasoned to adequacy but nothing to call home about. We got a wide array of apps and entres and the stand out would have to be the dumplings although even they were lukewarm. I wasn't a fan of the sweet potato noodle dish and the tuna in the sushi didn't taste overtly fresh. The staff is well informed and attentive. Anyhow there is space to grow for Momoyaki, in all areas and look forward to visiting again.
We LOVE MOMOYAKI!
Aside from the very pricey Dragonfly, this is the best place for sushi in Gainesville. The fish is excellent and the rolls are light on the rice (unlike those at some other places where there's more rice than fish). The service is excellent, and it's very very affordable. Thursdays is our day, we always go on Thursdays for BOGO wine and sake and 10% off sushi. It has become a weekly tradition.
I tremendously recommend this restaurant. All foods are tasty and awesome. It's clean and is not crowded.
This place was delicious. If you like special sushi rolls then stop by. Thursdays are half off rolls.
We ordered 3 signature rolls and they did disappoint. The dessert was even tastier. We had the Matcha green tea cheesecake along with their green tea ice cream.
Tried Momoyaki during a visit to the University of Florida with my son. The restaurant is nice and provides for a great atmosphere. The menu has a wide selection of both Korean and Japanese dishes from kimchi to sushi. I had a spicy Korean pork dish called Jeyeuk Bokkeum and my son had the Korean beef Donburi. We were very impressed with how good the food was. The whole dinner cost under $30 dollars and the service was great. Will come back the next time we are in Gainesville.
Good food if you are willing to dine in only. Ordering food to go is impossible. Either employees take forever to answer the phone or you can order on door dash and get a phone call 35 mins later saying they are not willing to serve you since you are not dining in. Now I need to wait a week to get reimbursed from door dash and I wasted my time.
They wouldn't give me the student ID discount for takeout. It doesn't say anywhere on the website that I have to dine in. It did say it on the physical menu but that special was the reason I came here. What college student has time to dine in on a Monday night? Rude.
I go here all the time with this date. We really enjoy eating there and trying new things and the staff. I really like this girl she is unsure about me but we always end up back together and then going here for dinner. I really like the waiters and witnesses there is one man we do not know his name but we called him Brian he is super nice and the one time me and my date went there and didn't see him we missed him. Very good place
Been coming here for years. They have a great lunch special of $8 for 2 sushi rolls, as well as other deals.
It's good for what it is so four stars, but it's not nearly as authentic as I thought it would be so they lose a star. And they're skimpy on the vegetables but what restaurant isn't. Otherwise the food is yummy, service is friendly, and prices are cheap.
It was our first visit here (first time visiting Gainesville) and Matthew offered some fabulous suggestions. He was spot on! If we lived here, we would be regular patrons of Momoyaki.
We had seafood noodle soup, bulgogi beef with rice, two order of sushi rolls. We went at lunch hours & ordered lunch specials with discount price. The total meal is less than $30. Great price & delicious. The wait was a bit long. Be mindful of this factor if you are on lunch break from work and need to return to work promptly.
The Korean food is pretty good and authentic. The size and quality of dish was excellent. Though the price might be a little high, it's worth it going to. Lunch special price is much better! I would reccomend.
Great sushi but the clay pot dishes are where it's at. I have been adventurous trying various things in their meñu, so far it has all been tasty. Their waiters and waitresses are all nice and attentive. I like it! They also have a kids menu with French fries- BIG PLUS for parents who love sushi but have picky kiddos. The atmosphere is very relaxing and there is a beautiful fish tank with salt water fish our toddler enjoys to look at.
Momoyaki is one of those legendary hole-in-the wall places we all dream about stumbling into. We found it by mistake several months ago, and it was a happy mistake. Momoyaki has become our go-to place for sushi and to scratch that insatiable itch for Korean food.
