Monkey Shack, Panama City Beach FL

I hope and PRAY that someone saves the animals from this place! I truly do! I can’t get it out of my head. So freaking sad!

Someone needs to shut this place down. The poor birds in there are so unhealthy. Not to mention they sell ice cream less that 10 feet away from those nasty bird cages. I cringed when I walked in that place. After seeing the birds being so poorly mistreated I had to turn around and walk out. How does the health department even allow them to sell any type of food being so close to those nasty bird cages. Poor birds.

The owner was very nice; she inflated my pool floats that I brought from home for 4 dollars. That was fine with me considering I didn't buy the floats from there. They do leave the front lights on and an open sign even when they are closed?

Went here today with my family, the birds were shoved into cages and look like their feathers have been plucked out. Also the employees followed my Aunt around the whole store and were staring at us. They Acted very sketchy when i was looking at all the birds and other animals. I don't think they are being taking care of. One of the parrots which is in the picture i took had a small plucked spot and the other parrots whole torso was lacking feathers and was 10 times worse but unfortunately I didn’t get a picture of that one or the rest i had my aunt send me the picture. Also the turtles were all stacked on top of each other.

The old jamaican lady named mel put her hands on me twice last night for no reason she almost got it handed to her. Worst store in Panama, the animals are severely abused, their beaks are not even trimmed, why come here to pay for animals suffering, I will be calling the city on this business.

It was a pretty nice visit. This spot had affordable souvenirs and attire. The spider monkey was interesting and entertaining as well. It was clean and tidy. There was a great amount of variety to choose from. The staff was inviting and polite as well.

They may have a decent selection of souvenirs but someone needs to take the birds they have on display to a good home. The macaw and one of the African Greys are nervous wrecks and the other Grey is absolutely starved for attention.

Very poor conditions for the birds. I was so upset. They were missing full patches of feathers and kept their heads tucked. They were pitiful. The music was really loud above their cages. Their cages were filthy.

Staff was not too helpful but it was late and possibly they were ready to go home after a long day idk

We stopped by this shop to actually go next door (Monkey licks ice cream) but had to go in here. Such a great hidden gem. Stuffed animals, live animals, t-shirts and just a unique place. Ill be a returning customer. Unfortunately I did t get any pictures.

Great retail selection but should have animal cruelty charges. One of the birds was shaking in fear, lost half its feathers and had filth in cage. Another bird starting to lose its feathers. Disgusting use of animals for tourist draw.

Nice place but they need to back off customers. They follow you the whole time like your trying to steal lol.

This place is gross the poor animals are obviously stressed. Their homes/cages are far too tiny for their sizes. There isn’t a single souvenir in this shop that you couldn’t buy at one of the 90 surf shops on PCB. I revise to give these people a dime.

The birds are treated horrible and aren’t taken care of well. They are extremely neglected. The monkey wasn’t even there. It smelled horrible. Please do not support this place.

Fun shop, love the animals inside although they all appear unhealthy; it's pretty sad actually. The smell inside is pretty bad too. Good selection of clothing and beach gear/souvenirs.
