Monster Auto Recovery, Miami FL

My car was towed from a private parking lot during the night of December 6th into December 7th. From the invoice that Monster Auto Recovery provided, the car towing began at 10am and was completed by 10: 45am on December 7th.

From my understanding, I should have been charged the Class A fine of $145 as this was not initiated by the police, and the Daily Indoor Storage Fee of $33.90, but not anything more than that as the car had not been held by Monster Auto for more than 24 hours. The invoice I received states I was charged a City Fee of $36.25, however, I do not see a City Fee listed as part of the Maximum Non-Consent Towing Rates for the City of Miami.

Additionally, and more importantly, the owner of Monster Auto threatened my partner with violence and my partner had to call the police due to the threats. My partner offered to collect my car for me while I was at work and we verified with Monster Auto that they would release my car to them as long as Monster Auto was provided with a picture of my drivers license. When my partner arrived at Monster Auto and requested an invoice for the car, the owner responded by withholding my car, chasing my partner out with a broom, and yelling at them. My partner proceeded to call 911 and the operator requested that they stay on the line for a layer of added protection. When the police arrived, the police sided with the owner as it was his private property. However, I believe that the owner changed his mind once my partner asked for the receipt because he knew he was improperly charging me and that was when the situation escalated. When my partner alerted me to the violence, I left work and took a car over to collect my car myself. I was provided a receipt, but did not contest any charges as I was afraid of retaliation similar to what my partner had received. They are unprofessional, discriminatory, and price gouging.

ANDRE was amazing! He was fast and prompt. Beyond professional and accommodating. He even gave me a ride to the tire shop where my car was being delivered to. He turned my day around after I previously waited for another tow truck company for nearly 5 hours while stranded in heavy rains. You can imagine how livid I was. My axel popped out of my tranny and pulled me to the head, so I called my insurance (Allstate) and they sent this awful company. The driver said there was a mandatory 75$ CASH payment to drop my car due to my car being in a ditch, they sent me the receipt and they stood ppl actually left the pics of where my car was picked up at on the receipt. Does that look a ditch? !? No idts. And why did the payment absolutely have to be CASH!? !
SCAMMING COMPANY! AVOID AT ALL COST!

Garbage unreliable company. Arrived arrived 5 hours after the promised arrival time just after the repair shop closed.

I contacted them through my insurance company and was told they would be here in an hour and did not show up 2 hours past the appointed time.
The woman who answered the phone was very rude and not return my calls when I tried to call office when driver didn't show up after waiting a while for the appointment.
I wasted even more time and had to look again for another company.
Do not waste your money and time with this company.
I DO NOT recommend letting unprofessional people touch your car.

I had an excellent experience when I needed my car towed. The dispatcher was so pleasant and understanding, and the driver arrived quickly, was professional and equally kind. Ten stars is well deserved. Thank you!

The lady who picked up when I called to ask about my vehicle which broke down was so incredibly nasty and even hung up on me for no reason. I tried calling back a couple times and she sent my call to voicemail. Then 15 min later I check the Progressive website to see the status of the roadside assistance change and the Vehicle Location and Tow Destination l had both been changed (to some rand addresses). I called Progressive and they said that this towing company must have gone in and changed it (to sabotage me?). I am absolutely blown away at the unprofessionalism and disgusting behavior of their staff.

One of the services they have listed is junking your car and paying you out as long as you have the title. Any condition! Guy comes up I sign him over the title he gives me the cash and that's all fine. I go back inside. 1 minute passes and I'm getting a call asking if I could meet the guy back outside, so thinking that it could just be an issue with getting the door opened or anything cause the car was completely dead. I told them that over the phone that it wouldn't have much for salvage if anything. They said fine and that it wouldn't be an issue. I go back outside and he says he needs the cash back and he gives me back the title back saying that the car is no good. Like yeah obviously it's no good I needed you to junk it. After I give him the cash back cause he wasn't just going to leave he hands me the title then drops the car back off in the exact spot. If you guys say it doesn't matter what the condition is don't come all the way over here and waste my time when a certain part you wanted to try and repurpose is rotted. It sat is standing water and was completely drowned out from the hurricane, all info they were aware of. Don't waste your time with this company.

They didn’t show up. The insurance company had to look for another company to help me after waiting 90minutes for them.

Not responsable with the time scheduled. More than two hours waiting for the toll truck to pick up my car. This was previously scheduled the day before.
