Moondog Cafe, Key West FL

This was my favourite breakfast place in key west! The food was so amazing and they have lots of options for those who are gluten free, vegetarian, vegan! The staff were so nice and went the extra mile to make sure we weee happy with our order and even went as far as holding the door open and helping us bring our takeout order to the car! The building itself is well decorated and very spacious! Wish I would have found out about it sooner and gone there more during my trip!

It took a lot of commitment and a lot of key lime pie for my husband and I to declare the best key lime pie between Marathon and Key West, but here we are! This is our favourite for flavour, sweetness, texture and presentation. “Real Food”, atmosphere and drinks are excellent as well!

Lovely spot for brunch! Our table on the porch was so cute. The eggs Benedict was delicious and the fresh pastries and cakes in the front were all gorgeous. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend!

The best little spot we stumbled upon this visit. We love their burgers and truffle fries.

Group of 8 of first timers to the Florida Keys. The food was fantastic! Explosion of flavors! Absolutely satisfying.

Excellent food and service! Try the key lime pie! It is made fresh daily-I watched the baker putting the meringue on and it was awesome!

Everything looked so scrumptious it was difficult to decide. We chose the Papa Burger and both agree it was excellent. The dessert looked outstanding. If we lived nearby I would definitely be a regular here.

Nice ambiance and service. We went there because it was recommended for their fish tacos. We did fish and shrimp tacos. Flavor and portions were very good, but the tacos started falling apart after the first bite. They have an extensive offer of cocktails, a lot of options with watermelon. Cocktails were just okay, though.

In the Keys for our anniversary. Came here for brunch. Seated outside, shaded, and waited on immediately. Got the Moondog Mary to start with. One of the best Bloody Mary’s I’ve had. Had a little kick but not overpowering. We had the Mahi sandwich which was very tasty. Carrot cake for dessert was a huge slice. I’m so/so on the cake. It had a good taste and was very moist, but had a different taste from what I was expecting. Overall, a great place for lunch. Would come back here in the future. Nice clean restrooms.

Fantastic spot for breakfast and lunch. We liked it so much that we kept returning. Definitely one of the better food options in Key West.

Had the Elvis French Toast and it was delicious! Was worried it might be too sweet or too heavy, but it was neither. Somehow, they manage to balance out everything so you leave feeling satisfied, if not wanting another because it is that good. Tried both the lavender latte and the matcha honey almond milk latte, both were good but I did prefer the matcha latte.

I love this place. We have visited this cafe twice so far and will be back soon. Their banana crème cheesecake with the cookie dough crust is to die for. Actually, we ordered a second slice of it to have the next day. Their key lime pie with meringue is a close second. I enjoyed their expresso martini and also on another occasion a tasty cappuccino. The interior decorating is amazing. The murals on the walls along with the tables and fixtures all come together wonderfully. A very chill atmosphere a block from mayhem (lol).

Wonderful food and variety to meet any guest. Our group enjoyed seafood, a hamburger and pizza. And had to still get dessert. Staff are so wonderfully polite and helpful. Definitely a new "go to" in our happy place.

So, this place was on my list to try-but we were very full walking back to our studio- and picked up dessert to go-
Oh My Yum!
We decided on:
Pistachio eclair
Banana cream pie
Chocolate bomb
We shared with our hosts the next night- so so delicious.
I’m definitely planning a trip back and just have a light day of food- and come try another pastry of some sort!

We come here every year and this is our breakfast/brunch spot every time. The food, service and atmosphere is well worth whatever slight wait there might be.

We ate here for brunch one day. The food was amazing-get the freshly made croissants! It’s a quaint little place with indoor and outdoor seating. They also have a little bakery, but unfortunately we were too full to imbibe!

I will forever be thinking about my blackened shrimp Benedict. Absolutely amazing. Coffee was great too.
