Motoworks reviews
10I wish there was a zero. Which is absolutely the amount of help I received. He assumed I was an idiot. He spoke more than he listened and insulted my bike before he could get off the call. Shocked I could only say ok thank you. It amazes me that businesses and people like are still around. If he likes your bike and he approves, then you're in luck. LISTEN closely, though he will find a way to insult you. I also felt funny him diagnosing a more costly repair on the phone? Dishonest!
This man Dave is very in-depth and illustrious background in motorcycle mechanics. Being new to the area looking around for a shop to install some tires for my 17 Kawasaki Zx10r, I was incredibly grateful to have found this man. He did let me know that next time he could have saved me $20 per tire, as well as an additional $10 bucks per tire on install with the tires I selected being the Michelin Power 5’s. I called NextRide about installing my tires and I was damn near mortified when they gave me the estimate. Because I didn’t purchase the tires through them they would charge me their $150 an hour labor charge and both tires it would be 2 hours, that’s also without a warranty. Dave charged me $65 per tire. So before you go to one of these big name establishments for any of your repair needs, give Dave a call, I’m sure happy I did.
Took my '17R6 to Dave. He provided an excellent diagnosis on the bike.
Great pricing. My only complaint was that I almost crashed myself on the way home cuz it was running so good. It ran and sounded like it did when it was brand new. And with his extra attention he paid on my braking system, which was beyond why I had the bike there to begin with, he kept me from crashing the thing too! All kidding aside though.excellant experience. Quality work done with an air of pride. Wish I could start a petition to keep him from retiring.
A big thank you in just 45 minutes new chain, oil colant rare mechanic that can share some good knowledge, /allowed you to be there while he's doing his wisdom congratulations and all the best, hope to see you in Europe and share some mountain passes
Kept bike for 14 months (sat outside in the weather most of the time. Gas cap rusted shut). Charged for 2 parts, installed one. Got bike back in same condition as when I took it there. He claims he is only doing small stuff now (oil changes, tire repair). He used to be an ace bike mechanic, really gone downhill.
Mr. David did a phenomenal job with servicing and customizing my Iron 883 into a bobber. He is honest, courteous and a true professional! He was always polite on the phone and explained everything in detail before proceeding with additional work.
Majority of the parts for my bike came from England. Even though some of the work required extended time, he did not charge me a penny more then I was originally quoted. I appreciate his hard work and commitment to customer satisfaction. If you reside in Tampa, and ride; he is the man to go and see.
Very reasonable for forks he gave me a quote today told him I have quality parts told me he do it for a good deal COULDNT say no
Immediately hung up on me once he realized wasn’t getting my business. Saying if fairings were damaged and not just frame the bike is totaled.
Farrings and even a scratched new tank wouldn’t be equivalent to a titled bike. 3 weeks behind and wouldn’t offer to take a look to give an estimate of any mechanical damage.
Could have offered an appointment after the holidays instead of just giving me a date or appointment to bring it in. Once I mentioned taking it to another shop which could be for getting them apprised to buy or their timelines of it needing to be specifically. Kawasaki dealership for some of my issues. Immediately hung up instead of negotiating helping me with what he could. Not wishing me some happy holidays, or if there was anything else he might be able to help with. My other bike had issues too. Rude owner and does not deserve your business. Not a community friendly guy as some reviews made it seem.
Send shop I called had an even longer delay. Listened to all my concerns and was willing to see it soon but and let me know my options for after the holidays. Definitely more customer friendly and deserves my business. Even with a longer waiting time.
He did a good job replacing my rear tire on a somewhat difficult motorcycle to work on. I recommend.
This guy dave had my bike for 8 long months without touching it. He told me that he’s going to drop the engine inorder to replace the timing chain to a “gixxer”? I am pretty sure this guy doesn’t know what he’s doing. When I saw my bike after those months, my bike looks like trash. He put my bike outside his garage and let the heat, rain, and rusts destroyed it. The handles were faded and the chains was rusted so bad. Couple weeks before I picked up my bike, he told me that the bike was not running. It supposed to be just the timing chain needed to be fixed. But when I sent my bike to my new mechanic, they found out that the ecu was destroyed from water corrosion and needed to be replace. Now I had two problems instead of one. He could’ve told me that he couldn't fix it, that way I can move on and bring my bike somewhere else. Instead, he holds it for a long time and didn’t even try fixing it. This guy is very unprofessional and unworthy. And he did not even bother returning my $50 deposit. Very disappointed with this guy. Stay away.
