Thank you Jessie for helping me feel comfortable. Hope to see you in my neck of the woods.

Mr. Han’s is back! The family has reopened this Gainesville institution and the food is tops. For small and large parties there are few places in town that provide an intimate and refined dining experience. If you’ve been before, go back. If you’ve never been, you’ll discover why it’s the best in town by far.

Gainesville’s hidden gem! Mr Han’s Restaurant has been here for more than ten years and it’s my first time going for dinner, it was magnificent! We had the Peking duck, Grandma’s Braised Pork Belly, vegetarian (or vegan? Don’t remember) Ants on a Tree, Braised Eggplant with Garlic Sauce, Shrimp With Black Bean Sauce, and Mongolian Beef. By far, my favorite was the eggplant. Amazing! The Peking duck was also fantastic, really juicy meat with crispy skin! It was the only thing I thought to take a picture of. The Ants on a Tree was also really fragrant, with a light taste of chili and sesame oil. Dishes are meant to be shared with the table. We got the flaming lychee for dessert; lychee maraschino cherries are served with a dishes of 151-proof rum on fire. It was delicious and a light way to end the meal. The ambiance is lovely and luxurious, but the food is really fairly priced. The staff was really nice and the owner came by to check on us, really pleasant. If you’re in Gainesville you must try this place!

I had much better General Tso Chicken and hot and sour soup in other restaurants. Based on the quality of the food, I think the price is excessive. Will not come back here. Disappointing in particular when the place has such a good rating! Maybe the real chef was out when I went!

Renovated and updated! The daughter-in-law Amy is now operating the restaurant and she has done great work. (Sadly Mr. Han passed away and Mrs. Han is has retired at age 90.)
The service is timely and thoughtful, and the food is reliably delicious. The dining room for a fresh, bright coat of paint and updated lighting to enhance the dining experience, while maintaining the couple of nostalgic family portraits.

Great Peking Duck! The service is great but if you go on a holiday expect it to take a while. They get very busy but are worth the weight!

Been a long time customer of this place back when it was on 13th street. The food is amazing as ever! I urge you to try things you cannot get elsewhere. I got shredded beef Szechuan, and my wife got weeping willow chicken for the first time, and it was amazing. That is where authentic food really shines. Sure, you can order your basic sweet sour chicken and compare it to regular takeout, but it can only be so good. Service did take a little long, but that is to be expected when the place is packed full of customers, just like anywhere else. At the end of the day, there is a good reason why this place has been thriving since the 70s. I hope this has been helpful to many of you who are interested in dining at this piece of Gainesville history.

Dry and chewy chicken. I don’t mind spending $16 per dinner as long as it tastes good, but I would never order from here again. Not worth it at all. Save your money and order from a cheaper place because the quality of the food does not match the price. And, not really that big of a deal but my “fortune” cookie had no fortune.

Cute restaurant with friendly staff. Wait was a bit long considering there was barely anyone in the restaurant but food was good. Would recommend.

Was there last night for the first time with my family. The service was despicable. Way too long to get food (over an hour), appetizer came out after dinner. The bill had to be changed three times as there were items that we didn’t order. One waitress for all guests. Will not be returning for sure.

Amazing! Redone interior and amazing authentic Chinese cuisine. I love the crispy eggplant, lettuce wraps, duck and house fried rice. I always kill the pot of oolong tea you can get at request

I live in Ocala but tripped across this place last year when my husband was in the hospital in Gainesville and it is well worth the 1 hour drive.
From the calm classy interior, to the food, to the service, Mr Han's Restaurant is an absolute gem. Today was the third time I have been there. My friend took me there for my birthday, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out they have Dim Sum offered at lunch every day. Every single bite of lunch was a taste and texture sensation. Food was truly exceptional and service was outstanding.
Today we had Golden Dumplings, Steamed Chicken Feet, Sweet Rice with Chicken, and Beef Chow Fun.
Please try Mr Han's Restaurant out, be adventurous, and order something you have never heard of from the Dim Sum menu. You will not be sorry! I was raised in San Francisco eating food in China Town (not the tourist traps) and this is the real deal.

Hands down best Chinese food in Gainesville. Their tofu was cooked perfectly and there was lots of vegetarian options

The food was great, but the service was horrible. It took almost 25 minutes just for fountain drinks. The servers bought out food and didn't say what it was, my daughter didn't get her appetizer, and they sprayed cleaner on the table before we paid for our food. It also took a long time to pay for our food.

Food wise- the best Chinese food I have had.
The service was not good, unfortunately, I had asked for a drink and appetizers that I never got. Maybe they were short-staffed.
