My Buddies Pet Care, Port Charlotte FL

We picked our dogs up yesterday after a 10 day stay at My Buddies Pet Care. We are out of towners that just wanted some dog- free time while visiting my parents and this place wlea mile from them so we thought it would be perfect. Upon drop off we’d asked that their nails be trimmed as we’d been traveling for over a month and they were more than due. The staff upon intake was very friendly and said it would be no problem. One of our dogs eats a home cooked meal so halfway through their stay I would need to bring more in. I let the staff know that we weren’t far and that I would do so. When dropping off the food I asked how they were doing (we’d never boarded them this long) I was told they were happy and everything was going well.

At pickup yesterday I noticed right away that our larger dog was all bones (ribs, spine, hip bones and sunken chest) and both had EXTREMELY long nails. The woman that was at the counter was not the same bubbly staff type we’d encountered on drop off and when we asked about any stress or any report from their stay she was very short just telling us everything went well.it does not appear from the look of our dog that everything went well. It looks like he wasn’t being fed or wasn’t eating. I felt like she was not the person to ask about anything and just wanted to get them home. As my husband got them into the truck and I did stay behind to inquire about their nails as that was a service that we may have been charged for and was definitely not done. I was told that “with all the craziness of the morning that they were unable to get to it. ” The craziness of the morning? ! They’d been there for 10 days! She then told me I could bring them back in the following day for the service. That is unacceptable. We head out of town today which is why we wanted it done while they were there.

Overall sitting here looking at our poor guy and knowing that he’s lost so much weight I am just very disappointed that nobody called me. He is scary skinny and we are far from home. It makes me sad that this is ok with the staff and just ignored. You can do better.

My groomer did an awesome, amazing job on my Sadie girl. She is a Leonberger with a LOT of hair. The place was very clean, smelled fresh and everyone that I meant was SO friendly. PLEASE let them do an awesome job for your pet (baby).

This was by far the best experience I have ever had. Adam was amazing. Friendly and knowledgeable. A+

Took our cat, Benji, in for a fur trim aka 'lion cut'. The counter guy was friendly as was the groomer who asked questions and took notes of our instructions. We were very pleased with the results and the cost was less than we pay in Central Ohio.

Fast customer service. Got nails and a bath. In and out in under 15 minutes with no appointment.

Absolute best place to take you furry friends. Adam runs a great boarding spot for our pooch, which she get royal treatment just like everyone else there. They also offer great, reasonable prices not only on boarding but on pet care, hygiene, nails, trim and bath, etc. - second to none! GO NOWHERE ELSE!

They're booked until Christmas but at least they returned my phone call and they were very pleasant to talk to.

The phone is "busy" always so I've never gotten through for months now!
I try every so often.
One Cannot conduct business with such an unprofessional set up as the phones don't work!

I bring my dog who hates to have her nails trimmed and they make it look easy. I've also used John to train her and he is fantastic! She always gets so excited when we pull in the lot:)

On this particular day I dropped my pup off for a simple bath and he smelled worst when I picked him up.people please try freshening the pups. I use a combo of baking soda and cornstarch when I give my pup a bath at home.baking soda absorb odor and cornstarch absorb moisture.keep that in a container and sprinkle like baby body then lightly mist him fragrance or rub coconut oil on his coat

Nothing negative to say about this place. I’ve been bringing my pets here for at least 5 years.

I used their services for the very first time yesterday to have my cat groomed! They did absolutely amazing! Very friendly upon arrival and got my kitty back to me looking and smelling fresh! Will post pics later! Will definitely be back with my kitty Abbi! Thanks guys!

OMG THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. I took my almost 6 month old SAS for his first grooming experience. He was happy to go and very happy back when I picked him up. I will def be using them again.

Friendly and acvomodating staff and is able to read my dogs needs more accurately than other local boarding places, minus Bow Wow.

I took my German Shepherd Mix, Sky, to My Buddies for the day. She came home happy and smiling.
I was very satisfied with their service!
