Been going back an forth with them for over 1 month about $1000 their took as my deposit without giving me credit to my account all I received was a receipt stating it encountered difficulties returning my cash yet they telling me they had no overage in the machine so they cant do anything, when I have proof I deposit money without my account been credit.

Never. Never a drive thru? , Was a bad move right outside a Federal Installation. Now? , it puts everyone in a corner. Elbow to elbow in the hot sun. Future? Never. Location? Never.

I have had nothing but good experiences at the Dale Mabry branch in Tampa. I was in Germany for three years and when I returned I found there were many of the same familiar faces. Adam in the mortgage dept. Has been my go to for two home purchases. Brittany who has since moved always gave me great customer service and Willie always calls me by name, has a smile on his face and willing to answer any questions I have.

Never, ever had a bad experience at this branch until a couple days ago. We are all experiencing the effects of COVID 19, we are all trying our best to practice social distancing etc but the way 2 members of staff interacted with me was unwarranted and unnecessary. Even in the middle of this pandemic, it would be in your best interest to practice quality customer service.

Online call center and branch give out contradicting information. Which is a huge problem when the nearest bank is 45mins out of the way. Bad Customer service.

I have been a member for 4 years now. Never missed a payment on anything. They raised my credit card limit last year and then this year they decided to close it without my knowledge. I had to find out about it first from Credit Karma. When I called the call center they said it wasn’t in their best interest to continue the credit line for me. I also figured out they ran a credit check before closing my account. Mind you, I have never missed a payment on anything. They show up as a hard inquiry and it has lowered my credit score. I’ll be switching banks very soon.

My fiancé was being harassed for his late payment. He had just gotten out the Navy and we had to move south to be with family. So he did not have income for a little while. Until, his tax return deposited into his account. Navy Federal called him again, their representative said they noticed he had a recent deposit and they started questioning him on where that money went and what did he spend it on. That is none of her business, but if she must know, it was used to pay a whole months rent, daycare for our kids, gas to drive back to our hometown, food, lodging, and other bills. After that, we no longer feel comfortable banking with NF and we are currently searching for a better bank.

Nice people but if you need to do anything that cannot be handled by a teller you should pack a snack, you will be waiting.

Spoke to Christine at NFCU Tampa about an unusual matter. She was most helpful and knowledgeable. She solved my problem!

It’s the people who make this branch fantastic! Staff such as Danielle, Mary, and several other ladies are all sweet, smart, patient and always willing to spend time with you to answer your questions or find someone who can help you. Not to say the men are not all of the above, as well. It is simply that my interactions are predominantly with the women.

The loan department next door is very new and it shows. They are not very communicative with the National office and vice/versa. Now, not sure if this is a Navy Federal process issue or simply the local department is simply dysfunctional. Either way, when they say they will call you back, don’t hold your breath because you will pass out before they do. And when you call them on their mistake, they will say ‘you need to speak to your designated loan officer’ and when you tell them they are your designated loan officer, magically that name will change.
-I did not give 5 stars for reasons that have nothing to do with the service, but more for other readers with special needs and/or those with elderly family members and/or those who are new to the area. Here are those comments:
1. Handicap parking is in a great/bad location. Great location to the front door, but bad because of the limited room to reverse out of the spots without having high-speed distracted parking lot drivers who are discourteous and self-absorbed. *you all know who you are* slow down, there are children everywhere. You are in a very narrow parking area.
2. The branch is located right off Dale Mabry. While this is a great location for lunchtime quick stops, for those who do not know how bad Dale Mabry can be, BE AWARE of the high-speed drivers on Dale Mabry.
2b. You will have those high-speed drivers tailgating you as you try to pull in and you will have to play ‘frogger’ going out of the driveway (especially if you are trying to turn left). 2c. *recommendation* Always turn right out of the driveway, go to the next light and make your way around. Or just go get yourself a coffee or a taco and then take the light back left. It’s worth the extra time! I’ve seen several bad accidents because of those drivers who are impatient, those drivers who do not know how to use the middle ‘suicide/turning lane’ correctly, and for those drivers who just simply believe everyone else will slow down for them (definition of self-absorbed driver). Just because you are in the ‘right’ doesn’t mean it will end well for you. Is it really worth you and your family getting injured and your car getting destroyed?
2d. Oh and you will also have to deal with the random people (pedestrians) who just cross-cross the roads wherever they want. This is what I consider the ‘human frogger attempters’ or simply those who are fighting for the gold medal in the Darwin Awards competition (not really sure this is a thing, but makes me kind of giggle when I find myself watching these humans who think they can dodge 2-ton vehicle bullets). Again, just because you think you might have the right, why would you test the drivers who may or may not see you or even care. Would you really walk up to a stranger and say ‘hey you are in charge of my life today. Do want you want to me. ’
Well.got news for those who are still reading this diatribe, that is what you are doing if you are just walking across Dale Mabry not using the crosswalks.
3. Bathrooms for use for branch members:
This is great! Why? Because you might be sitting for awhile. This branch is extremely busy and there are plenty of staff members to serve. However, your wait is going to be based on those clients who came before you! So, if all staff are consumed with clients who require 2 hours of their time, guess what? You will need to use the bathroom. Their bathrooms are very clean! Yay!
4. The WiFi is high-speed. Pretty sure it’s because Spectrum which is right next door. If that isn’t the reason, it’s okay. Still great and still fast!
5. Don’t do your banking on your phone using public WiFi! They have two computers there to login to your navy federal account. Use those! Way more secure!

Navy Federal Credit Union customer service is excellent. No matter how many times I call, the people are always still pleasant respectful and very kind.

Been a member almost a year now. Customer service is the best of not only the banks I've had/have accounts with, it's better than about anywhere. Nice work

Horrible Customer Service Line! I had a problem with my account and nothing was resolved with the customer service department. Spoke to a supervisor name Kerri, she was very rude and still my issue was not resolved. I asked to be escalated to a higher superior and she refused. I stated I would closed the account and she said that is fine.she could care less. Called back spoke to another supervisor by the name of Nicholas and although he was pleasant, my issue was still not resolved. I think its awful to bank with a credit union who has absolutely no way or concerns about resolving your issue. I have two other banks and if I ever have an issue with an account, it is resolved immediately. Needless to say, I am looking for a new credit union right now!

I used to rant and rave over NavyFed but lately I have been less than please. The line was long and the customer service was terrible. I was served by an Amanda who was a short, bigger Hispanic lady. She started off ok but came across as rude and annoyed by my presence. I have also experienced issues with the call center. The last time I called I was told to go online and take care of my issues.if I could take care of the issues online I would’ve. I will never go into the Tampa branch again and am contemplating switching banks due to the recent experiences.

Worst customer service I have ever had in my life with a financial institution! Fraud on my checking account while traveling - they refused to process a dispute. Then they refused to send me a replacement debit card even though I verified ALL of my contact information, which was current on my account profile. One of the worst reps I dealt with was Erica; she refused to do anything, put me on hold for 10 minutes, amd then disconnected the call. I opened my accounts here because I was under the impression they put their customers and members first; obviously not if they won't dispute fraud or provide replacement debit cards for longstanding members.

If you want a bank that cares about its customers and is service-member focused, go with USAA and avoid NFCU.
