NCH Family Medicine: Leniesha Ferrigon MD reviews
5I have seen Dr Ferrigon since 2018 I believe. I love her and I never had a problem before. This year I needed to take my mom to see her. We’ve been trying to get in since February after her ER Dr told us to get a BP study. Im not sure if its her staff or the front staff of NCH in general, but I initially made an app for June. I was called the day before & app was cancelled, it was apparently made when they didnt a spot. We had been waiting for almost 2 months to see the Dr. App was pushed back to first wk of Oct. Then I changed the app to first wk of Sept since they had a cancellation. I was later called again to move her to Oct but now last wk because of “no reason”. I asked to be called back with an explanation from a supervisor since the staff couldn’t tell me why my mom had been cancelled again. Supervisor called a few days later & could not tell me why app had been moved for the 4th time. Claimed “Dr will go on vacation” but later said “no, that will not affect you but it has been moved already”. Overall, disrespectful knowing that the app was for a study and not a regular check up. I expressed how upset I was and how long we had been waiting to get in and still they said they couldn’t do anything. Very disappointing.
Got to say ice seen alot of doctors but dr ferrigon has been one of the best. She spends time with you and hears you out, very few drs around here would ever do that. You arnt just a number there. They office does have a policy against prescribing pain killers but will refer you to a specialist that does.
She is very connected in the community so it's easier to find a specialist referrals. They are very good keeping up with the insurance and will fight for you when you really need help.
Having extensive experience with doctors, I can honestly say, my visit with Dr Ferrigon was the worst. It was my initial visit with her, on the sheet they provide to state top reason why you are there, I added:
I need refills on some of my medications (6) to be exact. Also I am experiencing pain due to lymph-nodes in neck and underarm, keep in mind I had an almost two year battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. The good doctor did not even touch me.
Since arriving in Naples I have fractured my humorous bone in two places, I need to have my knee replaced, and I just had an MRI of hip which has a labrar tear. I was told "I can't give out any pain medication", I asked "can you at least give me Tramadol" she looked at me and said I can't. I take a medication daily that I ran out of I asked her to which her reply was I can't give you a full months supply, but I can give you some till you see the specialist. Mind you this wasn't a narcotic, it was not benzodiazepines. I checked the statute regarding which doctors can prescribe and which can't, and there was absolutely no reason she couldn't other than she didn't want too. Any doctor that refuses to prescribe pain medication isn't a good doctor, simply because she has already made a blanket statement without even seeing a patient. How can she be concerned with patient if she is more concerned about having to deal with gov't regulations. The fact that she would not even touch me, made me feel as though I was being discriminated against. I will not be returning to her office.
Love Dr Ferrigon! She is kind and listens to you. I feel so comfortable talking to her. I highly recommend her!
