Neligan Construction just replaced the roof on our townhouse building and did a great job. From Justin doing the initial evaluation, Brian Neligan putting together a comprehensive proposal, to Arden coming to our complex and patiently answering all the homeowners questions, to Juan and his crew doing the roof installation, it was all first class. The crews cleanup was through and payment plan options were available to each of the homeowners. Our townhome complex have been Neligan customers for years and they have never disappointed. I highly recommend Neligan Construction.

These guys did an amazing job on our roof. They started on a Monday and finished mid day on Saturday. They worked hard and long hours to get the job done. Every day prior to finishing work they would clean up the job site before leaving the job. Juan the supervisor was on the job inspecting the job and working every step of the way. Juan was extremely knowledgeable of roof construction and had some ideas that we implemented based on his recommendation that made the roof far superior than the initial design. I cannot say enough about how awesome this company is. They did such a great job that I know they picked up at least two additional jobs from our neighbors. You cannot go wrong with this company!

We have used Neligan Construction for our roof, gutters, decks, windows, and sliding glass doors. Each time they had the lowest bid and completed each job on time and on budget. Brian Neligan personally supervised each job to make sure everything was done correctly.

I had a complete reroof and some fascia replaced with this company and 100% would not recommend them. It was a total hassle to have the job completed; it took over a month and I don’t even remember how many times they had to come out for them to complete my less than 1000 sq ft roof and have it pass inspection. The workmanship and attention to detail is poor-the inspector said they didn’t use enough glue in multiple areas which would lead to water damage, and when I asked if everything else looked fine, the inspector would only say, “I’ve seen a lot worse”.

They didn’t bother to replace a lot of the rotting fascia and then tried to say it was just old, but I’d had to scare woodpeckers off those areas of the roof a few times that were pecking away at the rotting wood. After they replaced the fascia, I noticed they left large gaps in between a lot of the pieces they installed, and they gouged out large areas of a soffit where they replaced some fascia; they originally told me “when you get the fascia painted, they’ll fill it in for you”. They also had to come back out to repair some of the fascia they replaced that started coming off the roof less than a month after they installed it.

They showed up to my house unannounced twice, the first time a man just got up on my roof without even knocking and started working, while what I think was his wife hung out on my front lawn right outside my window. The next time they showed up unannounced was to fill in the gaps between the fascia…right as tropical storm Idalia was passing by us, after it had just stopped pouring and obviously it was still very gusty out. The project manager was irate that I wouldn’t allow workers on my roof in those conditions, and she stated it was fine to apply waterproofing material to my wet roof, then hung up on me.

On their last visit, instead of filling in the large gap they made in the soffit (large enough to let rats in), they sloppily painted the fascia the wrong color (and glossy when my home’s paint is matte) without my permission or knowledge, and got black paint on other areas of my home. They also broke my fence, added items to my invoice without my approval and then it took multiple requests to multiple people to fix it, the company owner was rude and dismissive to me after I stated I was not interested in purchasing additional services from them, etc, etc. I got I think 7 quotes prior to choosing a company for my reroof, and trusted all the previous 5-star reviews I read on here, which was obviously a mistake.

I called many companies for quotes to repair siding. Several wouldn't even come out because it was a smaller job than residing the entire house and referred me to the Great Contractor Hunting Game, which I don't believe is a game you should play with your most valuable possession. Those who did come out for estimates would all say different things, many of those things I was able to verify were blatantly false. One even said I had wood rot on the second story, assuming I didn't have a ladder and wouldn't check it out myself. A few threw out what seemed to be high estimates, because they "do it right". Ultimately, Neligan was the only company who didn't try to sell me things I didn't need. The price was reasonable, communication was excellent, and as far as I can tell, they did it right. UPDATE: I'm not sure if Neligan can edit their response, but they responded to a critical review so it will probably no longer make sense. We had a "failure to communicate" issue that I take half responsibility for. I do believe Neligan should have been more communicative, but I could have done more as well to seal that gap. Ultimately the roll roofing served its purpose, but did not address all of the issues with the chimney around it (not that it was supposed to) and those issues were not apparent when they came out to do the work. I am not sure whether they should have spotted the issues with how my chimney is waterproofed/flashed, but it seems reasonable that they wouldn't/shouldn't unless I brought a specific leak to their attention. I'd have to be a roofer to say for sure what a roofer should notice as "maybe needs to be fixed". The roll roofing did seem to coincide with a "new" leak, but it looks like (now that my chimney is opened up), the leak had been happening for some time and the roll roofing may have just made it "worse" (redirecting water) in that it was obvious enough for me to notice in heavy rain.so in that way it's good that they put that roll roofing in, otherwise that leak would have continued to slowly rot away at the chimney. That's how I look at it.

The roll roofing is being replaced with aluminum by a roofing company experienced in aluminum porch-roof transitions, which seems to be the superior choice in my case, as there are a lot of pine trees near my house and pine needles tend to gather on the porch roof and could be pushed underneath the roll roofing by wind. Either fix probably would have worked if not for this chimney leaking that involves having to remove everything, including the roll roofing.

If communication/collaboration with Neligan had been better, they likely would have gotten the job that I have this other roofing company doing. That's alright, both companies seem more than qualified to do this work.

My only advice to anyone who's read this far is to be as familiar with potential issues with your home as possible. If I somehow could have known about the chimney leaking, I could have had Neligan address it when they installed the roll roofing. I think the ideal company would do their own inspection and know common chimney failures to be able to say what might be an issue based on things like siding that was recently replaced, siding that may be soft, etc.as a homeowner doesn't necessarily know what to look for.

Wow, this company hits it all. Very friendly and easy to work with from start to finish. Steve was wonderful and very thorough in his inspection. Just G when above and beyond check my whole roof and addressing a couple of extra issues. I had a minor problem and Steve came right back out a took care of it. Extremely responsive, very attentive and just a pleasure to work with. A breath of fresh air in a world that is lacking old fashioned customer service. I had a major leak coming from my roof, they came out and inspected it and put in a temporary fix while they prepared the estimate. I received the estimate 2 days later and signed the contract. They were quick, efficient and professional. They came out within a couple days. And I paid them immediately. I emailed them after to get a quote on fixing the closet and received a response right away. Unfortunately they were on vacation until the 20th, but I am hoping they contact me back for the quote on the closet. The closet is a huge mess, ceiling, wall, and floor.

They did a great job and got our complex roof done in three days with a small army of roofers. Juan was terrific as our site manager, answering all our questions. Arden at the office was immediately responsive during the planning and throughout the project. Thanks!

Neilgan did an amazing job on my roof repair. They went above and beyond in making sure that I was pleased with the job. When they were through, they did a good job of cleaning up the yard, cleaning off the roof and cleaning the gutters and downspout out. They had to replace 2 of the boots on my roof as well and rather than leaving them silver they painted them to match the color of the roof shingles. I have already recommended them to my neighbor since they are planning on getting a new roof soon. Neligan GREAT JOB!

Neligan Construction & Roofing is one of the best companies in Jax Beach. They were quick to respond, professional, and arrived on time. The roof installation was completed in a timely manner and I never had to follow-up with any detail. Highly recommend!

Neligans stands by their warranty. Our roof was replaced by the previous owners. When we had some shingles come off, I called Neligans and asked them to come out and perform an inspection. They came out the same day and followed up with repairs within the week. Prompt and quality service. Very impressed!

Neligan Roofing did my roof first roof repair around 15 years ago. I had several companies come out but none were able to fix the leak in my roof. Brian was able to identify where it was coming from and fix it the same day. Later when we were required to replace that roof because of the insurance company requirement, Brin and his crew came out and replaced it within a few days. They cleaned up each day and didn't leave a mess like other contractors.

We also have had Neligan work on several of our rental homes where he repaired roofs and even replaced a few.

Neligan Roofing installed my roof 14 years ago. It was time for a new roof so I called Brian Neligan again, since I was very happy with the first time around. He was very helpful steering me through the process of getting permits, HOA approvals, and all of the details. On construction day, Juan and his crew arrived on time as scheduled, and completed the job in less than two days. They worked non-stop and did a nice job on the roof, skylights, gutters, etc. They cleaned up nicely after the job was completed, and our home looks great. The office team, Mary and Arden, were a pleasure to work with and were responsive and professional. I have to give a special shout-out to Juan, the job foreman. He was constantly checking on the progress of the job, answering any questions we had, and giving good suggestions for care and maintenance of our home. Juan was definitely on top of his profession, and I would highly recommend him, and Neligan Construction without hesitation.

Neligan was very fast with getting back with my roofing request. John the tech came out and looked at my roof and showed me only one shingle needed repair. He even gave me a shingle and told me how to repair it. I appreciate the honesty and integrity of this company. I highly recommend Neligan and will use them for all my roofing needs in the future!
