My 4 year old was low in oxygen and breathing so fast and wheezing badly, they had us waiting in the waiting area for almost 3 hours we left, we couldn’t wait any longer, I will never go back there

My son needed an appointment with the genetics doctor and they refused to take him because our family physician is not contracted with them. He even saw a cardiologist at Nemours that we really liked. We switched all doctors to Arnold Palmer and it was easy to get into genetics. Very disappointing. These are children and you should be available for all children in need, not just “contracted” physicians.

I wish I had read the reviews before bringing my step daughter here. We had a medical emergency for her and I had my other children with me, before entering the building I was told by the incompetent officer that myself and my children were not allowed in the build or to even enter to let them use the restroom while my step daughter was being seen with her father and that I needed to take myself and my children else where.
I’m almost positive I was racially profiled for being white. Never will I bring my children to this hospital again. It’s really gone down hill.

The most outrageous thing happened to our family last night. My daughter has had a persistent nonstop cough since Thursday that has me worried sick and because she hasn’t been able to sleep at all ever since I took her to Nemours ER. We waited for 3 hours to be seen by a resident that after checking her up told me I should give honey to my daughter.
A child that has had similar problems in the past, meaning it’s not our first rodeo, we know the treatments that would work in this situation and had tried everything before actually going to the hospital and to get there there, wait 3 hours to be seen and the doctor to prescribe her “honey”? That there’s nothing else she could do?
She was staring at us like we were aliens as she states the “obvious”? Like heck, why didn’t I try giving this kid honey before? It was the solution to all my problems. However the said “doctor” didn’t take into consideration what I had just told her, that my daughter was not keeping anything down in her stomach, that she vomited the honey and the antibiotics the other doctor prescribed at the urgent care we visited on Friday, that my daughter is NOT doing well at all even with the treatment she was prescribed previously. She’s a kid that doesn’t have any underlying issues nor any other health issues. We needed help. With all that said, we were dismissed being recommended to give her HONEY! And also, that she should go back to school. A kid that hasn’t been able to sleep, eat, function like she would normally do. This visit took place on Monday, December, 12th, 2022 at 3am. I cannot express my indignation enough other than saying, stay away from this place. They don’t know about kids, families, diseases, anything.

**EDIT: I took my daughter to her pediatrician and she’s got a mild asthma and she requires a breathing treatment with appropriate medications not honey. Thanks for nothing NEMOURS.

(My only star is for the Doctors) I have been in the intensive care unit for 17 days with my daughter, we arrived due to seizures and now her health has been complicated by pancreatitis. During this stay I have to say that the nurses have been excellent, very attentive and loving, but the providers don't even know what to do with my girl. Some of them have told us that they don't know what to do with the girl, and are thinking of sending her to another hospital with the excuse that her original gastrologist and neurologist are in that hospital and cannot help her better. But those doctors from the other hospital told me that they can communicate and work as a team. Today a gastroenterologist came to the room and asked us (parents) if we knew what could be causing her pancreatitis (if we did we wouldn't be here) lack of love and sensitivity for life. Sure, because this isn't her daughter crying and suffering in pain every day. It's so frustrating and heartbreaking to see her in so much pain every day and know that the doctors don't have any answers. It really feels like they aren't trying hard enough to find a solution. 4 days ago, the intensive care team decided to put us in the regular room, even though she has seizures and pancreatitis, here in the regular room NO specialist has come, such as a neurologist or gastroenterologist, even the nurses sending them messages and asking them to come see the patient, they have echo have not come I am unusual and frustrating mismanagement of my daughter's case starting in the ares of intensive 3 floor!

I am a teacher who unfortunately had to bring a student here on an out of state field trip. The quality of care that my student received was incredible. Everyone had excellent bedside manner and her care team was so quick to run labs, contact her doctors back home, and take tangible steps towards getting her better. I have been in a lot of hospitals in my life, and I have never felt so confident that I, the child, and the child’s family were kept informed and reassured every step of the way. Bravo, Nemours!

My son spent 4 nights in the pediatric ICU. All the doctors, nurses and hospital staff were so attentive, kind and caring. I also want to thank Dr. Neto for looking after my son. He explained the plan of care each step of the way. I knew taking my son to Nemours, he would be in the best of hands.

Horrible experience with the paramedic that received us when we were called. He stood their with his arms crossed as if annoyed we were there and had a nasty tone, not welcoming at all and this is supposed to be a children's hospital? Never again coming

Read the reviews. I made an appointment for my child in ENT.months in advance. They have changed his appointment several times since then. Go somewhere else it shouldn't take a whole year for an appointment.

So thankful for this hospital. Numerous surgeries and a stay in NICU between my kids over the last 15 years. I wouldn't trust another place with my kids.

This place should ultimately have zero stars because of Dr. Kahana. She pretends to care about your family and then shows her true colors. The first impression of her was great but as I warned it was nothing but false. She built a bond while our family member was in her unit and the mother trusted no other doctor with her little ones care. The doctors change after each week and Dr. Kahana still came every day to see the mother and check on the baby and was still very much involved. She went down with the baby for surgery and texted the parents throughout it. She comforted the mom when she was at her lowest points and got her who has had the most traumatic past and let’s no one in to open up to her. She continued to stay close throughout her baby’s stay there and then for about three months after discharge. The mom and I even had a falling out during this time because I warned her not to believe this woman when she said she cared about her and she would get hurt. Well, I was right. Dr. Kahana told her she couldn’t replace her mother but could be there for her like her mother. They even went out. Sounds awesome right? It was up until she just up and left and after everything that they went through with her and what she said that is just very messed up. The mom is still hurting and still very upset over all this and will never be the same and this lady doesn’t care at all. She never cared in the first place and it was nothing but a game and a joke to her. To make matters even worse the dad reached out because their baby is sick and asked for guidance given what the baby just went through and she’s so messed up she didn’t even respond. Do not trust Dr. Kahana. She’s out for the money and an ego boost and is one of the most heartless people I have ever heard of.

12/23/2022. Took my 17 year old to the ER because she had a high fever and was getting worse by the day. Sadly I chose this hospital. Her nurse practitioner, Yadiraliz had the worst bedside manner and refused to truly listen to me that she was getting worse even though her heart rate was very high and her nails were blue and she was shaking. They discharged her and I took her to a more competent ER. Just to find out she's a very sick young lady. Please learn compassion and to listen to parents a little better.

Believe the negative reviews! I Brought in my 3 month old son with concerns of a worsening, nasty cough, choking vomiting and trouble breathing with chest retractions. Sat in there for about 3 hours with no vital monitoring, They did swabs for covid/flu and RSV and sent me home without knowing the results and a gave a quick diagnosis of upper respiratory infection. I knew in my heart that this was more than just a cold. Almost 2-3 hours after discharge. We got a positive covid test via the nemours app. No call from these doctors no follow up or guidance on what to expect or what to do to help my babys comfort while his tiny body fights covid. Disappointed that they gave a common diagnosis and sent us on our way without CORRECT answers. I gave two stars because the nurses and front staff were VERY nice, but a misdiagnosis is NOT okay. No childs health should be taken lightly.
