New Berlin Fish House & Oyster Bar, Jacksonville FL

Ashley and Marlee provided Excellent Service & the Food was Great. They don’t have a liquor license but Marlee the bartender accommodated me with some excellent cocktails made of wine.

Honestly I love seafood and I’ve very picky but literally every single thing I ordered was amazing very very good only thing I was eh about were the Parmesan tomato paste like oysters just because of my personal liking but everything was great! I did wish they had liquor though so they could’ve made my Bloody Mary haha but bartender was very nice too!

We’ve been here for brunch and dinner service. The portion sizes are large which is great for sharing. They don’t have liquor license (they do have beer and wine though) so it made it confusing after we had looked at the brunch menu online. We went for dinner the night before the Taxslayer bowl game it was packed. Our server told us it was the busiest they had been all year. She was prompt about brining our food and kept our glasses full. There did seem to be a lack of communication between the kitchen and servers on the list of items that were sold out. However, we WILL be going back!

I absolutely LOVE this place every time I come in it feels like home I love all the employees especially Kayla that’s my girl I come every week and they never change up on me about anything. I will return and I always bring somebody new gotta spread the work about this one

Today was my visit day visiting this restaurant. When we first arrived with a party of 9 they stated they were short staffed and would be with us shortly. We didn’t have a long wait and was seated rather promptly. Ashely was our waitress and she was AMAZING! THE FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING AND FOR THEM TO BE SHORT STAFFED WE DID NOT HAVE A LONG WAIT. I will definitely be returning as my family and I enjoyed EVERYTHING!

The fish chowder was so so good that we went back for a few more bowls. I didn't care for the crab stew. It definitely was not as flavorful as the fish chowder. I took off a star because when we went back the second time we weren't given our hush puppies. We ordered food as well so that's why we didn't notice the hush puppies were missing. I called numerous times and they never answered the phone even though every time I called before to ask questions then to place the order they answered. They are a bit pricey, but as I said the food is good.

The food was so delicious. Our server Ashley was amazing. I can’t wait to go back. This is definitely an amazing place to eat at.

Everytime I visit my family in Jacksonville I come to this place. On Monday's they do 30% for military and the server at the bar is excellent. I've been doing this for the last 4 years. I went Wednesday this week as I just arrived in town and the food quality has tanked. The service has also tanked. I ordered royal red shrimp which was pale in color and had been in a refrigerator for too long. The main entree was less than excellent as well. I will not be visiting here again on my yearly visits to family. They also still do not have a liquor license and that has been ongoing for over 3 years.

This is the restaurant I have to go to when I fly in or out of Jacksonville. The seafood is always fresh and there’s a wide variety. They also offer a different special M-F with discounts for seniors and military personnel. There’s also a kids-eat-free option. I like the menu because you can mix and match the type of seafood you order with how it’s cooked. The seafood chowder is delicious with lots of seafood and it isn’t too thick or salty. I also like the grouper nuggets and almost always have to have the calamari and hush puppies if someone in my party agrees to share it with me. The breading is light and crunchy and the seafood shines through because it isn’t overly breaded or oily. Hush puppies are crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The tartar sauce and cocktail sauce are some of the best I’ve had and they’re homemade, not out of a plastic jug. Cocktail has just enough horseradish and tartar has little bits of onion and sweet relish. My daughter ordered the lobster special ($19.99), which came with a big side of green beans and drawn butter. Lobster was succulent and easy to crack. Portions are generous so you can share and have a meal with various options. Next time I go I’m getting the whole fish option. Saw it on someone’s plate and wished I wasn’t so full so I could’ve had that, too! I know there’s a bar, but I’ve always ordered something non-alcoholic. They give me a full to-go cup for the road. Always appreciated for the hour plus drive to my destination.

Food is amazing. Small place that does the mains well. Sides are a little underwhelming but the do the seafood amazing.

A friend took me there last nite - she wanted me to have the best shrimp she said- she was so right- they were served hot- they were very large (at least 2 bites each) - I had the slaw & green beans as sides- I have never seen such large portions served- they were both very tasty- the hush puppies were good as well. We had a waitress that was very attentive to our table-she was friendly & polite. The ladies room was very clean as well as the dining area. Can't wait to go back again!

Our experience w/ Marlee our service was awesome! Great lobster, snapper, collards and outstanding hospitality! This was my 1st visit, but I definitely will be returning in the near future to check out the Oyster Bar. Way to go Marlee! See you soon!

Stopped by yesterday 12/14 for dinner around 5ish our first time. We love OP Fish House and since we moved on this side of town we decided to try this location. WHAT a mistake! We were offered booth at front door (restaurant wasn't busy) and we asked for another location because of the draft from the door.

Well that was our first mistake that hostess attitude was unprofessional. I then I asked one of the servers could we move to a nearby booth. AGAIN that was the second mistake. FINALLY our server comes to our table and her customer service skills well she has NONE, and was loud, to say the least - surely you know her and not surprise as to how she treats your customers.

We decided to leave especially when she called us SLICK from the beginning - because we had a choice as to where we wanted to sit. SO WE left. RECOMMENDATION - training on customer service! Well she honestly would do great washing the dishes, or sweeping the floor.

Hubby and I went there to get dinner because I wanted fish. I stopped by there about six months ago and got a grouper sandwich to go and it was amazing so thought we’d go there for dinner tonight. The service was great. Our waitress was a sweetheart only problem is my fish was not grouper, it was some kind of white fish but not grouper. I asked if she was sure it was grouper she said yes but she was young so she probably didn’t know the difference. For $27 I expected a small piece of grouper Because is expensive and you don’t get a big piece.instead I got these two big huge fillets. It was just some kind of whitefish. Nothing great. I know the difference between grouper and a basic whitefish
