Had an amazing experience just booking the appointment with Shay. Very kind, professional, and informative. She also took me in with a huge smile after running late. Definitely a 5 star.

I went in to see the eye doctor and I was greeted by Shay. She made my day better once I walked in. She was very polite, kind and patient. She answered all of my question and was a pleasure to deal with. If I could give her 10 stars I would. Thank you to the staff as well. The visit was very nice.

Had the most amazing customer service experience at NewsomeEye. Going in dreading what lye ahead and needing cataract surgery I was not in a good frame of mind. When the elevator door opened I was greeted by a friendly face with a welcoming smile. Shay, not only made an impact on my mood, but went above and beyond helping me filling out my paperwork. She made my visit relaxing and pleasant. Thanks Shay)

Don't ever use this place. Had cataract surgery on both eyes $4000 w/insurance then was advised scar tissue would build up and all I had to do was come in and they'd fix it. False, they now claim that's a whole new charge and now that I don't have insurance the price is through the roof. This place will gladly take your money and will let you go blind to try to squeeze more money out of you.

Desiray helped me to get a later appointment which helped a lot with our travel, she went out of her way to make sure we were happy with the appointment time. Shay was very helpful and provided exceptional service. Leia was very compassionate and took her time explaining everything we needed to understand. Dr newsom is great overall, one of the most professional knowledgeable compassionate practitioner that we’ve met in a long time, we travel all the way from Ocala to see him in Carrollwood. Dr Donovan was very kind compassionate and through.

I want to recognize Casandra in the call center for her exceptional customer service. She was accommodating, professional and courteous.
At my visit the entire staff at Newsome was great, well trained, mentored and supported. Always look forward to my next visit.

I was going to write a bad review to start until I encountered Jimeka Hicks. I Have been coming to Newsome for over two years. I respect Dr. Garruto and his professional opinion. I have had three corneal transplants (two prior to Dr. Garruto). So far, the third is holding up. The pressure in that eye has increased tremendously, and I have been referred to Dr. Areiter. I have had several procedures (laser and gonio) all have failed. Dr. Areiter remains confident and pushes for outcomes to relieve the pressure. My eye looks really bad and I have payed thousands out of pocket.
A several months back I visited and proceeded to check out. The clerk thought I owed a copay but she checked and shared that I had a balance over $1400. I thought that is strange that I had not been informed of the balance. I called finance in late Sept/Oct and kept getting a push back. I was told that I could not get a refund due to pending claims. I was furious because my deductible was met back in September. I called my insurance and of course they agreed with me. I called finance again a few weeks later and I was told that their supervisor will be signing checks soon. Crickets for weeks. I finally called again early in November and got Jimeka Hicks. She was amazing! She showed the utmost respect and shared that she will get to the bottom of everything and call me back. She spoke with her supervisor and shared that they will process the refund in a few days. She was absolutely correct. She deserves a lot of praise for great customer service. The money was not the reason for her praise. It was the respect that she gave to me when others kept pushing me off.

Once again the billing department led me astray by giving me bad information. I came in for punctal grafts and asked the billing department an hour before I arrived what my out of pocket expense would be. Told it would only be my copay, 65 dollars. Moments before the procedure I was told it would be 3oo dollars. Embarrassed, I had to walk out. This is getting old. Happened twice. Minus my 65 dollars for absolutely notng in return. UPDATE. The office staff contacted me on this and apologized for the lag in communication. They offered to waive the next office visit fee and I am happy with this. They come across to me as professional and caring. It's a new location and I'm sure there are going to be staff acclimation.

Visited NewsomEye- Carrolwood on 11/20/23 1st time visiting this location. Front desk and techs were nice. However my experience with Dr. Arieder wasn’t the best. He had absolutely no empathy or sympathy whatsoever, he basically told me you’re losing your vision have a good day and walked out of the room, very rude. Also the wait times were horrible

Never ever again my foot will step this clinic. Dr. Lin the rude person iv ever met. I saw her first time 3 months ago she was unprofessional and unrespect doctor when I made my follow app I asked NOT to make app with her but two days ago when I've been at office.surprise! She again been with me and again, unprofessional, rude and not respectful person who also knew how to lie in my face. She made me cry. I just left in the middle of the appointment (I have glaucoma).
My recommendation.run away from this doctor, from this clinic!

I had LAL cataract surgery thru Dr Moses. She did all the light treatments and it went very well. The last minute I locked in one eye close and one eye far. It took me about a week to adjust but I love it. No glasses except for close up work. Dr Fazio did a few follow ups and he is great. Tells it like it is and he was the one that gave me the confidence early on to go ahead now rather than waiting a few years. Glad I did. Torie did after procedure study to collect data.
She was a great advocate that addressed any and all concerns. Torie, you may not know it now but you found your calling. You are great at it and a terrific addition to Newsome Eyes.

I am very glad I went to Newsome. They were the first to move LAL into mainstream. I had a choice and did see others but all appointments, surgery and follows donebright in their Carrollwood Office. Love it!

Incompetent and rude! We spent 4 hours on an appointment and left with the option to either do a laser procedure or get eye drops. We opted for the drops but when we tried to get the prescription there were no clinical records of our visit. We were told to come in again and have the 4 hours of testing done again - unbelievable! Terrible place!

The staff of Newsomeye in Carrollwood are awesome. Alyssa, Amber, and Marietta goes above and beyond to make sure you feel valued. They always greet you with a smile. Dr. Donovan is very compassionate and makes you feel like family. I truly love it here.

I highly recommend Doctor Matthew Donovan! I started to loose my vision in my left eye but after his exam and expertise, he did not recommend sticking a needle in my eye (like others did) but was confident my retina was no longer bleeding and could heal naturally. After about 6 months, my vision is a ton better! Im so glad doctor Matthew Donovan didnt use my as a test subject and cared for his patient. He was highly recommended to me and I can see why!:)

I found incorrect false information in my clinical notes; patient feels that the cataract is significantly impacting daily activities and has had no ophthalmology care for many years per the patient. Patient notes glare, trouble with bright lights gradual worsening of vision.
My previous ophthalmologist said I did not have cataracts when I visited her in November 2022. My myopia was corrected contacts. I did not require reading glasses at that time. No glare, either.
Anyway, I decided to give the doctor trust after listening to all the benefits of procedures. That was in February 2023. The first surgery was done in May.
Since then my quality of life was seriously compromised. I cannot see or read anything close due to blurry vision, halo and streaks of light day and night indoors and outdoors, double vision, burning sensation, droopy eye, and so on.
Still they do not refund my money. They take advantage of me and treat me differently. It is discrimination.

My condition kept getting worse than before surgeries since three different types of surgeries were done in May, June, and August 2023. I had to quit my job due to continuous vision changes and pain. I canceled another surgery that was scheduled in October. Enough is enough. At the check-out, the female doctor threatened me that I would be blind by next year.
I found a new doctor and he simply changed my medications. I can see much better in a couple of days and get better every day.
I sent emails and called for a refund of the $5,800 that I prepaid for the canceled surgery. Ignored. I got the refusal email of refund on 10/9/2023. I called the billing department on 10/10/2023. Once the female employee in the billing department verified my name and DOB, she started raising her tone and did not let me finish one sentence.
I have been mistreated clinically, emotionally, and financially.

Consistenly horrible experiences with them for the past 2 years. The day of my surgery only one operating room was open instead of two and I was there for 6 hours waiting for the procedure. 1.5 years after my cataract surgery they sent me a bill for $770. After many phone calls asking for clarification, they then follow this up with a revised amount due of $470. Go somewhere else if you can.
