Nick's Boathouse reviews
19I loved Nick’s boathouse. The food and drinks were great. I had the sunshine state drink and it was the best. Also the gumbo was delicious. I will definitely be back.
Food was horrible. The greens were not well done. And the potatoes are from a box of Idaho bought at walmart. The lobster was spoiled and smelled of ammonia and was overcooked scallops and shrimp were very overcooked, I now have a stomach ache. Greens in salad weren't washed and also were HUGE leaves. Food is not worth the price and the cooks need to be better trained to cook quality seafood. Our server was amazing and very friendly tho. He earned nicks boat house this star. Update. My wife and I are both sick. Ammonia smell means the seafood is spoiled. This warrants a call to the health department. And I want my mo ey back.
Got the surf and turf. Steak was a very small sirloin with not much flavor at all. Fried shrimp were pretty good. Ordered greens as side. I asked server what kind of greens. She didn't know. They were bitter and terrible. Oyster Rockefeller was not good at all. I've eaten here before and food was pretty good, but this time it was terrible. Probably won't go back. Lot of money to spend and nothing was good.
Dinner was absolutely delicious & drinks were perfectly crafted. Fantastic view & spectacular sunset while sitting on the patio, even saw a dolphin. No one (8 people) had any issues or problems with the food. Serving time was less than expected. No wait on Saturday night in December. Gratuity was added to party of 5 adults & 3 kids.
Overall, excellent experience. Definitely worth recommending to friends!
We had a party of six on a Sunday evening and all concluded that the food was mediocre at best. Upon telling local relatives we went to Nick’s Boathouse, they responded “why would you go there? ” My sister’s Mahi Mahi was overcooked and tasted like chicken, everyone’s Gouda grits were tasteless, and gumbo was reportedly bad, the raw oysters were very fishy, and the blackberry mule was weak (despite it tasting quite good). All this this on top of the expensive prices on the food. Will not be going back.
Edit: to be fair, the restaurant did comp the bad oysters and the shrimp was good in all the dishes.
Good food, good service and porch kitties! The carb and shrimp dip is very yummy! It's a beautiful place to watch the sunset.
Great experience even with 3 kids. Our server was great, the food was fresh and prepared perfect. I highly recommend eating here with your family or date night.
Perhaps one of the best restaurants in town. I love the fish tacos. They have a spicy sauce that's delicious. Blue moon on tap is also delicious. Try eating here in the summer when you can sit outside by the water otherwise it's a little too cold out and sort of defeats the purpose.
This was the best place we ate at while on the coast. Oysters on the half shell and the Rockefeller were both awesome. Service was outstanding as well.
Boyfriend had the surf and surf bronzed mahi mahi and gulf shrimp with mashed potato and rice. He said it was amazing. I had the burger with fries. Burger was excellent and perfectly cooked.
This was not a good choice for supper, I got the lighthouse platter it had shrimp oyster Rockefeller oysters were hard and the shrimp was overcooked then I had a lobster tail it was over cooked stuck in my shell the scallops were rubbery and over cooked the coleslaw was dry the corn medley was hard and no seasoning then my husband had redfish blackened but yetFlavor not good Caesar salad was dry overall we had two glasses of water which were great the bathrooms were clean and had supplies the view was awesome but for a choice for food never again this was terrible the price would’ve been great if it would’ve been good thing my husband also agreed with me
Great Hostess gave us a great table outside in the great Sun with a great view of the great bay where we enjoyed a great tasty brunch with great Sangria served by a great waitress. Friendly place…
12-4-2021 Dinner out on the town? Why yes Honey! Seated right away, beautiful sunset, and great food. Third or fourth time here and never a disappointment.
The environment is nice and after reading the menu we assumed we had stumbled across a decent spot, but that was not accurate at all. The steak is advertised as a quality one but is definitely a Walmart special. Cooked to perfection? No. Only one style and that’s cold. The sides are all instant and flavorless. Would avoid this place and save yourself some money. Will not be back! Just huge false pitch on quality food.
They have good seafoods and nice water front restaurant. I appreciate that they were open on a thanksgiving day because most places are closed as expected.
Great service, over cooked food. Ordered steaks medium rare and they came out nearly well done. Grouper and the boom boom shrimp were really good. Great view from the patio.
Ate Thanksgiving lunch at Nick's today with my immediate family and boy was it wonderful! Fabulous food, fantastic server (Cara), and perfect weather were just what we ordered! Will get back to Nick's again soon and bring the extended family with us!
This is terrible food. Especially the blackened chicken Alredo. I have never actually spit food out and both of us did. This was $48 and thrown away. It was so bad it was almost as if a completely wrong ingredient was used and the grits were like.imagine baby food and a banana.
I like this place, I places a small order, biscuit soup was good, as well as the salad. I want to taste the brownie, is on the way.
